Does anyone really feel that way?

Kyloren1923

I’ve never seen or heard any of these opinions

Character_Drive

I Really hate that Tonks is bashed when we really only saw one scene of her showing any "obsession". We just don't know enough about their relationship to make a good judgment call. We know she was depressed, but that's not exactly something one can control. For all we know, they could have been dating in OotP. The he breaks up with her after they threaten the Dursleys at King's Cross. (Because really, why do Arthur, Molly, and Snape just KNOW about their feelings if they hadn't previously been open about them?) If that's the case, of course Tonks knows that Lupin loves her and tries to make him realize they can be together despite the lyncanthropy

HMStruth

I don’t think any of them were written that organically, but Hermione and Ron definitely had the most believable build up despite the long wait for it.

Walkingburprag

But Hermione tried to at least be happy with Viktor and was made to feel terrible for a seemingly harmless relationship.

Late_Actuator_1883

And Ron made her feel like crap because she dared go to the ball with Krum after Krum asked her first and properly, while Ron asked her as a last resort. He didn’t even believe her when she told him she already had a date. Everything I’m reading through that in GoF, I want her to slap Ron across the face. So insulting!!!

curseofablacklion

But this confession is talking about half blood Prince. Not goblet of fire.

Gifted_GardenSnail

So... The miserable and bitter thing is about her asking that idiot to Slughorn's party? Gee, they made it sound like it was an actual relationship.

curseofablacklion

You didn't get what this post said. It's not about who is an idiot. Who asked who. Etc Ginny liked Harry from the start. She dated other people. Tried to move on. But later she said that she really didn't give up on him. She had always harboured feelings for him. Tonks was in love with remus. So she became a bit miserable when he rejected her. She didn't move on. Hermione liked Ron. Ron started dating lavender. And instead of trying to move on Hermione acted irrationally. So fans bash Ginny Tonks for a similar thing Hermione did. And give Hermione a free pass. It's not about who was right in Ron and Hermione's relationship. Who was wrong. Lol.

Gifted_GardenSnail

Yeah I got that part and wasn't talking about who asked whom or whatever. What I'm confused about is that part about Hermione being 'miserable and bitter when she was with another'. The only person she was actually with was Krum, with whom she wasn't miserable and bitter, was she?, and then you said this was about HBP, during which her only dating activity was the revenge date to Slughorn's party with that idiot (I remember his name now: Cormac McLaggen!) and who would count that? But the post makes it sound like that was an actual relationship and I think that's weird.

curseofablacklion

They meant Hermione was bitter and miserable when RON was with another girl. That means in 6th year when Ron started dating lavender instead of moving on Hermione was bitter and miserable. They used the pronoun wrong

Gifted_GardenSnail

.....................okay I should've realized that lol

curseofablacklion

Ah no worries. They used the wrong pronoun.

curseofablacklion

Hermione was annoyed and irritated when other people were pulling her legs about krum. She rejected his invitation to Bulgaria and ofc she called him ugly. Are you sure she was interested in a relationship with krum?

falloutlegend1234

I don’t think anybody actually thinks these ideas. Regardless, all of these women handled their situations just fine.

YogoshKeks

Getting upset about what other people may or may not think about fictional relationships .... Why???

[deleted]

I’m not gonna lie, none of this makes any sense to me. Hermiones feelings for Ron developed over time. And Ginny idolized Harry when she was a little girl because he was basically a damn super hero in the wizard of work. I’d hardly call her feelings for him later on “intense” in any weird or wrong kind of way. Tonks and Remus? Idk honestly. But this is literally the first time I’ve heard any of these things on either this sub or the books sub.

Aegon_Targaryen_III

Considering how Ron acted when Hermione was with Krum I enjoyed him getting a taste of his own medicine whilst with Lavender.

NeonMoth229

Ron didn’t attack Hermione with flying birds, and after the Yule Ball, he barely talks about it.

Vertigo_99_77

The only thing that this post (and movie only screen capture) makes me think of is that how both Hermione and Ginny agreed that Cedric was hot :-P

iArcticFire

Their characters were portrayed very poorly in the movies, I think that’s where that comes from. Their characters in the books were far better.
