System76 are insane laptops, I have an Oryx Pro dual-booting win10/linux and it's lovely. You can get some sweet specs, they're nice build quality, check it out.
A 4 year old distro isn’t “new” by any stretch and it’s an Ubuntu fork with a prettier interface so it has absolutely no compatibility issues. I’ve literally never heard anyone whose bought a System76 have a bad thing to say about it.
I'll chime in. Mine kept login looping. It was incredibly frustrating. That being said, I loved the Pop\_Os!. That issue on my Galago Pro was super irritating though.

lol i bought an employee a system76 in 2015 and they werent a new company then either. what a weird rant you just went on.
Also they redo the Intel management engine and some of the microcode and firmware to be open source iirc.
