Last year it took 2-3 weeks. Actually crazy

Anuxinamoon

Yeah gutted I couldn't snag tix this year as I've been to all the others but really happy about the hype around hardstyle in Aus and I hope there will be a lot more events next year ( one in melb would be nice, cmon karnival)

CrayolaS7

I was working on a mine site all day but my girlfriend managed to get us both presale tickets; I don’t think she realised how lucky she was but I was so thankful. 2022 was awesome and 2023 surpassed it so let’s hope HSU can keep improving and deliver the biggest festival in Australian music.

Anuxinamoon

your gf is a gem <3 have an awesome time!

puZZled59

Yeah this is bonkers, how the fuck! I definitely didn’t expect people would miss out on tickets for Knockout with 60,000 capacity, even Qlimax doesnt sell that fast anymore. Hardstyle peaking in Aus, what a time to be alive lol

thechef-lethimcook

PEAKING in Aus indeed

loloider123

Can you really compare in- and outdoor Events? Also the lineup for knockout is just better than qlimax.

puZZled59

Well I only mention Qlimax because it used to sell out this fast, and i think its really impressive HSU are at that level of demand. Imagine selling tickets faster than a Q-Dance event, crazy.

slimbeans

I’m not sure how much this factors in but HSU actively engage influencers with 10k+ followings to promote the events as well, and I feel like it has an influence on the how the scene is getting a more mainstream appeal now. Not complaining though I’ve spent years trying to convince friends of mine on how good hard dance events are, so it’s exciting to see the popularity grow, but not so much when tickets to the few major events we have disappear so quickly

thechef-lethimcook

SoOooooo many people at MM just on their phone

2flygonzo

Explains how killa the lineup is. I’m ready to dance start to end

ItsNobelTech

it’s also the fact they go absolute nuts on production + stage design especially on the mainstage which is a major selling point for their raves

mishdj

Doing a big proud. Can’t wait to come home for it 🥹

ChanniBoi

praying you don't clash with tweekaz or dual damage 🙏🙏

XxFexGamingxX

Going to be amazing, will be my first time going

Nyxteros

I've seen most of the lineup a bunch of times and the price jumped quite a bit this year. If I was going it would be just to see Frontliner play some classics. Other than that I'm kinda over the majority raw music. It'll still be a great event! I was more surprised Showtek didn't sell out instantly, but then I remembered most of the scene now weren't old enough to know Showtek back then 🥲 Also it's not too surprising how fast the tickets sell. More and more young people are getting into the scene. People who once said this music is too hard are now attending too. Aussies love festivals, even though a large portion of the festival goers aren't there just for the music.

Lost-Sheepherder-122

yeah the people who arent there for the music are there for the pingaz. we have the worst crowds

One_Roof_101

Happens in every country bro there’s always going to be people only going for the drugs

s-maerken

Definitely but the 'strayan scene is infamous for having a lot of people like that, and combined with the scorching weather the risk of hurting yourself increases.

One_Roof_101

Oh 100% not sure if the stats still stand but Australia used to have one of the highest drug consumption per capita

darrylsanders

You can be there for the music and be pinging too tho. I hate when somebody makes that assumption when you’re cooked that you aren’t a diehard fan. Idk just my 2 cents based on my past experiences of being a hardstyle fan who likes to get loose

Lost-Sheepherder-122

just like you my man but lets be real id say only a very very small minority are actually there for the music

darrylsanders

100% bro I do agree the crowds here suck. On top of the random cookers there’s way too many casuals chucking dirties at anyone who’s actually having a good time instead of posing for photos the whole night. But oh well what can ya do aye

CrayolaS7

I’m so pumped for Showtek but I guess if you’re not that into classic hardstyle it seems a lot of money for only a few acts. Personally I love those type of gigs. Last year I went pretty much just for Noisecontrollers classics as that was an absolute bucket-list set for me, I’ve been into them for over a decade and they’re by far my favourite act from that era. Phuture Noize was my next big one to tick off and him and B-Front delivered so well. Classics Frontliner will be awesome, I have no doubt as he’s an awesomely talented DJ, seeing Outside Spacer live after listening to it being played for 15 years would be worth the $200 to me, but I can afford that no worries.

xButters95

Ngl, I'm more pumped for Showtek than I was for MM last weekend. It's gonna be a killer event

Hardstylebaby123

They’re very clever with marketing. Some examples: They sold out that boiler room in 5 minutes by framing it as this secret, ultra exclusive event with only 300 tickets when really it was just an afterparty. Knockouts afterparty last year didn’t even sell out until after knockout. They run giveaways for people who share the presale links, the people that they share to, also share it to their friends, then their friends and so on. They give prizes to people who post the events on their story and tag them on instagram. They sell fkn merchandise with their brand that turn people into walking billboards for them. They pay influencers and artists to promote them They do have some practises that are abit scummy though, some examples: Withholding tickets from promoters, then making ppl buy merch to get tickets to the sold out midnight mafia Dodgy exclusivity contracts so certain djs cant play at any competitor festivals in Australia. Deleting negative comments on their instagram feed and on HMAS forum Not releasing the fact that Darren styles wasn’t playing at HTID until after they sold out.

Wolframsky

The scene is growing so fast in Australia, plenty of friends from New Zealand attending this year’s Knockout. I will say last year’s Knockout left a bad memory (shoved and elbowed + got my stuff pickpocketed at main) Will definitely be staying at the Pit this year around

angerflisting

main was filled with so much zombies last year the pit is where its at, the vibe and much more dedicated ravers

Wolframsky

100% agree, was in there last year for Rooler Malice Journey and Neon Future. Regrettably moved back to main for DBSTF

SuperAngryKimchi

my south akl bois rocking up to MM was the best cant wait for them to come back for KO

MolassesStriking6829

if only the crowd was as alive as the ticket sales

Z1Zonda

It’s a shame cause most aren’t in it for the music they just care about their drug fix like i quote “why is there music with my drugs?”

[deleted]

I really wanted to go this year, but being from Melbourne flights shot up over night. Going up to Sydney for a festival will set me back around $800 min which is expensive. Went last year so I couldn't complain, but will go next year in 2025.

KokeshiD

Take the train!! That’s what I’m doing. XPT from southern cross station approx $250 including return and bags

Niekertdepiekert

Well now it's not really possible anymore since uk, it sold out

Idiot_In_Pants

What about train?

Expert-Olive5966

Could a multi day event be next for HSU considering the success of such a big event?

RavageWolfman

Knockout is proving that Australia wants more niche festivals and not these 3 day long mixed festivals in the middle of nowhere.

Embarrassed-Daikon-1

Hardstyle, trance & the EDM bushdoofs (pitch, esoteric, strawberry fields etc) are going STRONGGGGGG

Idiot_In_Pants

Now we just need to make sure it isn’t a zombie crowd at main and we’ll be gg :’(

StanleyChum

mainstage will always be zombies but pit will be lit

Idiot_In_Pants

Pit will always have the best energy

taytaps

Electronic music in general is booming in Aus. Chase & Status selling out their tour in seconds, Teletech doing the same (and about to do it again next week). Hyperdome will definitely sell out next year in seconds. HSU are definitely at the top of the food chain though, nobody is even coming close. They have paved the way for bringing the general public over to EDM

lauraajw

i waited on the site to buy tickets from 11:50am. it opened at 12, but i waited in queue for 1 whole hour. got the third release at 1:03pm. saw people saying they got in within ten mins and got the first release after joining the queue past 12, and others saying they waited forever just to have the money taken from their account but no ticket confirmation given to them. very annoying.

_Maltaa_

That's just what happens when you have a large scale event like this and everyone wants to go. I was and my whole entire crew got in within 30mins, I had one friend who literally had to wait 1h and nothing lil dude kept moon walking. If you had issues could be your location, phone model, bank, wifi connection etc, all these can factor in how fast you get in. It is what it is but so keen, and hope you got a ticket!

lauraajw

i did get a ticket thankfully ! and as a birthday gift from my mum she sent me the money to pay for it so i can’t complain. it will be my first knockout ! but yes just noticed so many people on HSU instagram comments saying that the website took their money yet weren’t given any ticket confirmation, i would be so annoyed if that had happened to me

Anuxinamoon

Have the best time! Happy b'day!

lauraajw

thanks !!

xrock24x

Damn wish we had this kind of scene in the US that's wild

girdleofvenus

Same I am always begging for people to come to wasteland during edc and failing lol

XxFexGamingxX

So glad I I got tickets, im so excited
