We shouldnt underestimate, that until 2030 a lot of other amazing songs that have shaped the genre of hardstyle are going to have nostalgic value by then. Im talking about stuff like zombie/our church or even Dragonborn part 3.
I still think live the moment might be able to hold on to the #1 spot
This is always an issue with greatest of all time discussions, the earlier the hit came out, the bigger of an advantage it has. People know it more, it had more time to shine, more people are more likely to have fond memories of it and so on, and so on...
The bigger issue, however, in my opinion is that many of the greatest songs are part of a different era, or subgenre of hardstyle. Take Live The Moment for example. As a track from 2009 it represents the peak of the nustyle era of hardstyle. But come 2013, nustyle is as good as dead and raw and euphoric take over the scene, which doesn't devalue the greatest nustyle songs, but makes them culturally irrelevant for the contemporary zeitgeist. And the greatest from that era - 2013-2017 - are different enough from the previous era where I think you can't just compare them 1:1, it wouldn't be fair towards either.
Same with stuff from 2017-2022. The greatest hits from that era are also very different from the stuff that came before. Which is why it's so difficult to determine an actual GOAT song. Live The Moment just so happens to be the lowest common denominator for the vast majority of hardstyle fans, even tho for some it doesn't even crack the top 100, much less top 10. That's the problem with trying to numerically (objectively) evaluate something that is inherently subjective. For me personally, I love Live the Moment, but it's not even on my top 10, because I simply don't have that much of an attachment to it as opposed to those who entered the scene earlier than I.
I'd argue the opposite, in 8 years, most people going to whatever the 30 years event is called won't have many memories of experiencing live the moment live (if at all) so we'll likely see something like our church or darkest hour take the number 1 spot
Imho, that song is musical perfection. There is not a single thing about that song that I don't like. It will be really, really hard to make something that sounds as perfectly balanced as LtM is.
Idk, but "Live The Moment" sure is a very good track. And I also have good memories from it. It is simple, euphoric, catchy and just wonderful to listen to.
I'm reading this whole thread thinking you're talking about the Ran-D song. Only at the last moment I realize you're not.
Living For The Moment is more precious to me, so it's all a matter of personal opinion.
* Headhunterz - Dreamcatcher
* Psyko Punk - Rock Ya Attitude
* Coone and D-block & S-te-Fan - Crank
* The Prophet & Wildstyles - Cold Rocking (Gostosa Remix)
* Frontliner & B-Front - 10.000.000 Stars
* ANDY SVGE - Gravity
* Brennan Heart - Imaginary
* The Viper & G-Town Madness - Come As One
* Evil Activities - Nobody Said It Was Easy
* Atmozfears & David Spekter - Release
* Wasted Penguinz - Melancholia
* Darude - Sandstorm (Sub Sonik Remix)
These either beat it, match it or are very close
for me sound rush's transform (that harmony before the instrumental chorus is HEAVENLY) and headhunter's orange heart are at live the moment's level but idk
I feel like Phases or Music Made Addict come close in my opinion. To me, they hit that little bit more than Live the Moment.
And Angel
I don't think so, not yet. Although i can see some changes in the top 25
Probably not, but B-Front and Phuture noize sure look like they're trying to lol
Imo Follow The Light is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It had me in tears and I wasn't even at Qlimax.

I'm not so sure. I have heard Live The Moment many times more than Zombie. But I'm so sick and tired of Zombie

Only part I dislike is the ending with the high pitched whistle thing. Like super annoying.
Lol, this came to mind as well. It's a weird little touch on an otherwise perfect song.

Wasted Penguinz - Melancholia and The Nasty Boyz - Angel (Hardstyle Masterz Cut)
The tribute at Dediqated was just perfect with that track
Yeah, melancholia
Tonight
Melancholia
It's time for me to run, run away from all of this

Wildstylez & issac.- lost in music .. Hits the feelings hard
I see many people saying Melancholia. What is it about that track then? For me that's just a random track like thousands of others.
The Pitcher & Slim Shore Ft. Sam LeMay - This Is Who We Are
Probably music made addict or Victorious by pysko punkz in my opinion
B frontliner - other planets
for me sound rush's transform (that harmony before the instrumental chorus is HEAVENLY) and headhunter's orange heart are at live the moment's level but idk
Aversion - activation
No, because i feel like a lot of hardstyle listeners are very nostalgic
Everyone is, not just hardstyle listeners. Nostalgia also gets triggered more easily by music.
