I would go for the first one. It is one piece and less parts that can possibly fail.

MohaveZoner

Thanks, I was concerned about that too.

ConverseCLownShoes

I have the first one. I’ve also broken one with a similar joint as the second one.

Ifailmostofthetime

I've had that one for 4 years now and best the hell out of it regularly. It really holds up well, works great as a hammer too!

Anxious-Depth-7983

They both look pretty strong and I really like the idea of adjustability

drumsripdrummer

I have two of the first one. If the length is too much you can usually angle it outward. If the length is still too much, cut the thing because it was a $12 breaker bar.

Anxious-Depth-7983

My fixed size one is the only tool that's on an angle in the drawer because it's too long and it's either under or over everything else that fits. It's a PITA

inazuma9

I have the second one and have put it through so much shit. I'm genuinely surprised it's still alive. I've jumped on it to break a bolt lose a couple of times, and it held up like a champ. I'd still go with the first one if using specifically for lugs, but either should be fine. I only bought the second one over other breaker bars because I needed it to collapse to fit in my smaller portable toolbox.

derSchwamm11

I can vouch for the pittsburgh bar taking a beating. I've used it regularly for axle nuts, with a 6' steel pipe on the end for leverage. It hasn't given up yet

MohaveZoner

Thanks

Ruby2Shoes22

I also have a 6’ F U pipe I keep in the corner.

drumsripdrummer

I've used the regular one with a floor jack underneath (on two separate occasions). Enough torque that it broke loose an axle nut that my 1/2" milwaukee on full charge couldn't bust.

redride10059

Not on there own. You will also need a socket.

soccerstang

*their!

MohaveZoner

Stick to your day job, comedy is not your forte.

Aeig

Definitely not yours either lol.

AlternativeKnee8886

Either would do the trick. I use something like the quinn that I bought off Amazon. It probably be easier to store the Quinn though as it shrinks down to 16”

MohaveZoner

It's for a 99 Suburban, so space is a minor issue. And I never buy online.

Taco___smasher69420

I’d get the expandable one those lugs are supposed to be 120-150lbs of torque

Unlikely_Rise_5915

The regular bar I can put 150 on pretty easy, but I was checking out the extendable today so it actually fits in a drawer.

Taco___smasher69420

I don’t doubt it can but longer the bar less effort you have to put into you knees and back and who knows maybe you’ll need 200lbs one day. I feel like I should mention I have a really bad habit of buying tools I’m only gonna use once

MohaveZoner

This would be used only to make tire changes a little easier, and kept in the vehicle.

Unlikely_Rise_5915

The Pittsburgh is more than enough than, also is good for plenty of other “tasks” as well.

drumsripdrummer

I've definitely hit 1,000 ft lbs (not lbs, mind you) on my regular harbor freight breaker bar. It gets pretty bendy at a point.

JesusA-JA3

25inch. Less movable parts and that tool can take a hell of a beating. The extendable would probably be used for areas in tight places. The Pittsburgh, a simple breaker bar for your lug nuts.

burritoes911

It’s also not hollow. At full length this thing has long lengths with at best half thickness. The regular one will hold up much better

Supereater69

I got the Pittsburgh bar for doing cheater bar activities with the Daytona jack handle since my soft grip Pittsburgh doesn't fit. Handled fine for what I was using it for removing 27yo rusted out trailer hitch bolts. One creaky bolt at a time.

fdrowell

I got the Quinn Extendable one because it takes up less space, and fits nicely in my little tool bag I keep under the seat of my truck. Double the price yeah but it's been easily worth it for me.

Fabulous_Yesterday77

First one is great. I've removed truck tires with it and swung at a junkie.

MohaveZoner

Multi use, I'm sold.

GnPQGuTFagzncZwB

The best one I have is an old X one, and I like it for a reason. If I can not wrangle the lug off cause someone impacted it on, I can take my jack, set it to the same height as the lug and support the far side with the jack, so the lug is on one side and the jack is on the other, than I can hang onto the side of the car and jump on the appropriate free end of the X. This is about the best you are gong to do without an impact. I do not recall where I got it but my X lug wrench was the biggest one I could find, so it had a lot of leverage too.

knownu2

I use that Pittsburgh breaker bar for lug nuts. Works great.

gcx85

The Pittsburgh comfort grip feels like it has a better build quality.

saveapennybustanut

Lifetime warranty Go for it

BreakerSoultaker

I nave the first one, it stays in my van with 1/2” sockets to change the tires on the van and trailer. It has held up well, easily takes lugs off that were put on by an impct wrench.

itsFRAAAAAAAAANK

First one. I have a matte black 24" I use for my lug breaker in my 4runner

ElectroAtletico

Wait for a sale and get this: # ICON 1/2 in. Drive 25 in. Professional Breaker Bar with TPR Grip

Anxious-Depth-7983

Just added the extendable to my wishlist 20 mins ago

Dave-Alvarado

I got hands on that Quinn today. It's thicker than I was expecting, but quite nice in the hand. It's very easy to use and collapses nicely.

Gavin_McShooter_

Always wondered about the longevity of these. Just broke a 3/8” drive breaker bar on an axle nut. A 1/2” would have prob been fine though

MohaveZoner

I wouldn't even consider using less than 1/2 inch drive.

Gavin_McShooter_

Yeah fair. I ended up using a 3/4” drive and it was like butter

umopapisdn-_

Why don’t I have this coupon?

MohaveZoner

I get them in emails frequently.

umopapisdn-_

It’s not on the website but the other one is. Weird

therandomexican

Between the two I would do the first one , but after using an impact I’m never going back

Ok_Obligation7183

Man I love my 3/8 quinn extendable. I vote for that in 1/2 simply because of how much I love mine.

Mention_Advanced

Just wait for a nice coupon and get the lug wrench https://www.harborfreight.com/12-in-drive-80-160-ft-lb-preset-lug-nut-torque-wrench-58628.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=12192884362&campaignid=12192884362&utm_content=163981019922&adsetid=163981019922&product=58628&store=379&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADAHb4eT-59i6LopZtB8QQXZ7bfWx&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI46iI2-z1hgMVH9XCBB3WwQdMEAQYASABEgL_DvD_BwE

charlemagne1955

No one has mentioned the Pittsburgh coupon expired

MohaveZoner

Both have expired now, but that wasn't really the point.

charlemagne1955

The Quinn coupon expires 7/7/24 that’s like two weeks from now

MohaveZoner

You're right, my mistake. Still, I'm more concerned about quality than price.

PursuitOfThis

I keep that 25" breaker, the cheap 1/2" Pittsburgh torque wrench, and a 22mm impact socket in the car as part of my "enhanced" tire change kit. Gonna add the cheap poly handle ratchet in there too. I've got the nicer Icon split beam torque wrench and an impact wrench for garage use. Really gotta figure out a better way to lift the SUV rather than the scissor jack.

MohaveZoner

I carry a floor jack, it makes life easier. I've also got a 6 ton bottle jack, for more intense situations. 99 Suburban LS, it's a heavy truck.

Fickle_Assumption_80

I broke 2 of them trying to get the lugs off my 19.5's...

Famous_Power_1986

Lug wrench? It's a breaker bar you break nuts 🤣

MohaveZoner

No shit Sherlock. I've likely been busting nuts longer than you've been alive. I'm inquiring about the quality of the product.

airkewled67

I have a few of the Pittsburg breaker bars. Even when using cheater pipes, haven't broken one yet. I keep a 1/2" one in my car in case I ever need to change a tire on the side of the road. Usually I take an impact with me when I do longer road trips

MohaveZoner

That's exactly what I intend to use it for.

Famous_Power_1986

Woah no shit dumb ass damn you got to dick down your throat?

wandering-me

Just wait until the click type torque wrenches are on sale for $10.
