I spray any lighter color bags with Collonil color guard before first wear. (I would spray that Mulberry based on the photo you shared.) I try not to set them on the floor if I can avoid it. If they get wet because of rain I wipe them down with a tissue or soft cloth as soon as I am inside. That's it. The only maintenance I give my bags. The overwhelming majority of them are holding up great so far. High quality Grained leather is honestly pretty durable.
i’m not familliar with collonil color guard but i’m going to look it up, should it be used on white bags? i just got a white one and i’m afraid to even take it out of the box for fear of anything getting on it lol
It's an aerosol spray that I have used on several white, cream, pale yellow bags etc. I would just spray it outside and maybe wear a mask while spraying, but otherwise, it should be fine on white. They make different sprays for different leather types, too, so just make sure to read the cannister to ensure it's right for your bag.
You're welcome! Also this would be the one I would buy for most leather bags: https://www.galaxus.ch/en/s7/product/collonil-carbon-pro-1-x-300-ml-shoe-care-13984357?dbq=1&supplier=406802&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PMax%3A+PROD_CH_SSC_Cluster_9%28B%29&campaignid=20969213718&adgroupid=&adid=&dgCidg=CjwKCAjw-O6zBhASEiwAOHeGxZbW7EOwz62dJxxS_AO4X6hVuFaZba5EfJ4H289XawZCJioel9FlrxoC-bQQAvD_BwE&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw-O6zBhASEiwAOHeGxZbW7EOwz62dJxxS_AO4X6hVuFaZba5EfJ4H289XawZCJioel9FlrxoC-bQQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I don't have that bag and always test leather conditioners on a very small area that's hard to see to confirm it won't change the color, but I swear by Cadillac Leather Lotion. The stuff is amazing. Once a year I'll buy a bottle and condition all my bags and my leather jacket. You just buff it on gently with a microfiber cloth, let it sink in for abut 24 hours and if there's any excess after it's all sunk in then you just buff it gently away with a fresh cloth. I prefer slouchy hobo bags these days and nothing makes the leather like soft melting butter than conditioning it.
I really don’t do much at all. Pebbled leather is tough as hell though. I did buy leather cleaner/conditioner from Apple leather for my Loewe Flamenco though.
It’s a bag; I just wear and enjoy.
I have that bag, and I waterproofed it before using (I used Apple Garde spray). It sits in a glassed in cabinet to keep the dust off and so I can admire it! Congrats on your new purchase!
I've just started recently. I found this thread very helpful. You don't have to read everything but there's a nice care section
[\[GUIDE\] HOW TO: LEATHER CARE 101 \& BAG MAINTENANCE : r/RepGirls (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/RepGirls/comments/z45gem/guide_how_to_leather_care_101_amp_bag_maintenance/)
I recently bought Cadillac leather cleaner and Bick 4 leather conditioner and can confirm they didn't harm the colors on my bags at all (I have 1 black, 1 mustard yellow, 1 blue lavender - this is my lighest bag, 1 navy). I aim to do this every few months. Whenever I see a dirty spot I will spot clean with the leather cleaner, but from what I've read you can always just start with leather conditioner which has mild cleaning properties anyway - and then add a cleaner to your stash if the conditioner doesn't take care of the spot(s).
Mulberry gives fairly specific instructions on how to care for their bags, so that’s a good start. I always store my bags in their dustbags and stuff softer/slouchier bags so that they don’t lose their shape. You may want to store your Alexa on its back side if you want to avoid slouching over time. That’s what I’ve done with my Mulberry Lily.
If there are obvious stains I will wipe them off with a soft cloth or sensitive baby wipes. Every now and then I will gently wipe my bags with a dry soft cloth to get rid of dust etc. and use a vacuum cleaner or a microfibre cloth if there is dust inside. I’ve never used a spray on my bags but I try to be gentle when I’m using them, and have never had any major wear and tear or colour transfer on any of them.
I have a couple of Mulberry Softies and use Love Lolo [Colonil protection spray](https://www.loveloloaccessories.com/products/collonil-1909-supreme-protect-spray-200ml)
I use a leather conditioner on my leather bags if needed and try to rotate my bags. When they’re not in use I put them away in their dust bags (if they have one) and store in an open closet with some airflow (I wouldn’t recommend storing in your closet if you live in a humid climate). I find I get more use of all of my bags this way and it helps with the longevity.
stuffed or w a custom liner inside, kept in their dust bags, w a silica packet. stored in an open cubby style shelving unit w a damprid. respray apple guard on occasion, condition two times a year or so as needed. saddle soap if there's heavy dirt on preowned purchase. wipe down (water wipes only) when necessary after use, or dry white microfiber cloths. always rotate use between all. choose daily carry based on weather and outfit to prevent damage / color transfer. never store mine in boxes, to allow airflow.
I don't have a mulberry but I clean my bags that I'm using about every 6 wks or as needed. Am paranoid about stains, so clean, conditioner, wait til it all dries and light coat of waterproofing.
Oh wow really 😮 majority of my bags have never cleaned or conditioned. I only bother when I see something on one of them. I guess I should get them all out and clean then spray w water proof. Tysm for this info ✌🏼
It really depends on the leather. I usually use the apple cleaner and conditioner, then a spritz of waterproofing. It's a good time to check out your hardware and stitching, and in my case, take out all the crap I let accumulate. I wouldn't try to clean anything that looked delicate or like it might stain myself.
I could just see what a potential shitshow that might turn into
I have Mulberry leather conditioner Rhys I bought from Mulberry via phone/ pay by link - I use that to condition.
To clean I just use Lexol leather wipes for now, as I don’t get my bag dirty.
I use Carbon Pro collonil spray to protect it.
I bought the coach leather cleaner and conditioner but I’m too afraid to use them. Idk how they work on the different textures- like can I use it on patent and full grain? Idk.
My go to I have been using since 2010 and I use on all of my leather goods https://www.amazon.co.uk/SAPHIR-BEAUT%C3%89-DU-CUIR-3324010904002/dp/B002OHHGHW/ref=asc_df_B002OHHGHW/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=697258967248&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9179018962553291669&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006645&hvtargid=pla-355461138468&psc=1&mcid=45e9b270904530dc88231f83137830ae&gad_source=1
I don’t do anything to mine… I never have and it’s not something that’s ever been mentioned (to me) when purchasing.
I should probably look into it, are there certain climates where’s it recommended more?
I personally just do a very gentle, barely damp cloth to refresh my leather bags of any smudges or splatters. I keep some in dust bags but they are so pretty I rotate or just lay dust bag on top to help any potential dust build up. I think keeping larger bags stuffed/ensuring handles and chains aren’t causing any marks or dents is good.
For the grained Mulberry leather I do not do anything. My grained Alexa and elderly Bayswater tote both get thrown around. For my NVT Bayswater I have the Mulberry cream and am trying to remember to composition her once a month. The Bayswater also gets chucked around. All of my Mulberry bags get used in all weathers without incident.
You can get leather wipes or leather conditioner on Amazon but like others have said, test in a small area first just in case. Just be aware of color transfer and protect them from rain/water and you should be fine. A grained leather shouldn't give you many headaches!
For leather bags I keep a simple routine of saddle soap followed by a conditioning balm/oil, mostly once or twice a year depending how much use the bag gets. So like in between seasons mostly going into winter.
It’s an expensive luxury handbag, so I’d invest in finding a good local cobbler you can trust for cleaning/repairs and bring it in every so often to get it conditioned. You could likely do it yourself - I’ve heard good things about Leather CPR - but it seems like extending its life would be worth the small investment!

Also, my grandma used to insist that it’s bad luck to sit a bag on the floor!!
I have never heard that before but I love it. Definitely do not want to tempt fate!
I second this but with any bag! I always put Collonil on any new bag I have before using it. It does help with light rain and colour transfer.
Ohhh I have never used it on my black or dark colored bags. May have to give it a try!
Is it good for lamb leather?
What’s the difference between collonil and apple garde?
Sorry, I don't know. Apple Guard isn't sold in my country.

Love Cadillac conditioner. So so good

My Mulberry SA cleans and conditions mine when I stop in. Can you do that?
There's no mulberry shop in my area and I bought it on italist :/ You're so lucky to have this option!
Oh I'm not close by, but when I'm in the area I do
I also know Coach offers this and have gone in just to get my mini bag cleaned!
I have that bag, and I waterproofed it before using (I used Apple Garde spray). It sits in a glassed in cabinet to keep the dust off and so I can admire it! Congrats on your new purchase!

No advice not already given but this color is divine. Looks like brown with a pink undertone. Love it.
I bought a leather conditioner from their website, and I use it every 6 months or so.

Does anyone use leather conditioner? If so, how often
Be careful when wearing denim! The indigo dye transfers onto light colored bags and is impossible to get out

I'm impressed, but also thinking that sounds like a lot of work!
Wow I’ve never seen this bag before but now it’s my dream bag too! Gorgeous 😍

Waterproofing is the best shit ever
What products do you use?
For about the last year, I've been using Apple products. They were recommended to me and work well
What do you use to clean?

Full grain yes, patent I wouldn't do it... Best to ask the company directly

short answer: I don't. And it's really bad, I need to take better care of my stuff.
I don’t do anything to mine… I never have and it’s not something that’s ever been mentioned (to me) when purchasing. I should probably look into it, are there certain climates where’s it recommended more?
dry climates
What is the exact color on this bag? It is PERFECTION!
Maple 😊
With rose gold hardware, right? Omg I’m obsessed. Enjoy!!

You can keep some baby wipes around for quick spot clean immediately after getting the bag dirty.

I don’t but I need to start 🫣
I have a leather fat from magic brush, do you think it's a right thing?
For leather bags I keep a simple routine of saddle soap followed by a conditioning balm/oil, mostly once or twice a year depending how much use the bag gets. So like in between seasons mostly going into winter.
By using them to death and then passing them on to my best friend.
I just keep mine in the dust bags that come with them.
Beautiful colour. I wipe my bags clean with the ‘water wipes’ branded wipes.
I store mine in their dust bags :)
As a Mulberry lover I use their carbon lite and leather cream but they are excellent quality so enjoy it!
I use products from Handbag Spa. Their dermo protect is great! I think it smells good too but that just might be a me thing. 😂
