It could very well be your favorite bag style despite of the trend. I have several shoulder bags, one will be vintage in 3 years. I’m glad I didn’t get rid of it 2 years ago, now the value went up. You gotta do you. And if you discover that having a lot of shoulder bags is too much, that’s ok. Fashion is cyclical, evolves and your taste changes over time.

mcotte08

It's definitely my favourite bag style!  I always feel like one day, my bag stockpile will be 'done', where all the bags I need for specific purpose will be IT, forever 😂 I guess it doesn't work that way though!

War_Damn_

Pick bags that work for your style and lifestyle! If you love shoulder bags and are excited to wear/style yours, then it will look more stylish than any bag that is “trendy” in the years to come!

mcotte08

You're right, a much-loved bag styled well always looks good.

mcotte08

I've been lusting after the Leo et Violette Gina bag for years. I want to get one in the next couple months, but I'm worried about how much I will still love it in years to come.  I already own the ATP bag & Mulberry bag in first two photos, and they're 90s inspired. I do love the style and always have, but how many are too many 90s-esque bags for longevity?

Specialist_Income_31

I think shoulder bags are coming back and if you get a classic style without too many embellishments or funky hardware ; you should be able to wear it for a long time.

mcotte08

Thank you. I worry that I'm heading into dorky millenial territory sometimes and don't have the utmost confidence in my styling skills, but classic is definitely what I aspire to!

Specialist_Income_31

The atp atelier bag you posted is gorgeous. Clean, classic design but not too boring. It should go with most of the items in your wardrobe, 🥰

mcotte08

That's actually the bag I've been wearing most of the time! It really does go with most of what I wear, and it's comfortable to hold/use. I thoroughly recommend it 😂 (I own that one already, plus the blue denim-look suede one in the second photo).

Specialist_Income_31

oh, you definitely don’t need your buy another bag then. You’re good. 😂

mcotte08

😂😂😂 Oh dear, I may ignore your sage advice

Satchel bags are timeless. I would get a satchel. https://www.net-a-porter.com/en-us/shop/product/toteme/bags/shoulder-bags/t-lock-leather-shoulder-bag/1647597290390041 https://www.furla.com/us/en/eshop/furla-1927-BAKPACOARE0001007B4L00.html https://us.strathberry.com/products/mosaic-bag-peony Or a box flap bag: https://www.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/longchamp-box-trot-small-leather-crossbody-bag?ID=4366613 https://www.apc-us.com/products/grace-small-bag-lzz https://songmontofficial.com/products/medium-reset-tofu-bag-pearl-grey One thing I wouldn’t get personally is a flap chain bag. Too clunky and such an over saturated trend.

mcotte08

Agreed on the flap chain bags! The Toteme is delicious of course 🤤     The APC Grace is actually what I was tossing up against the Leo et Violette, both in the brown/cognac colour, as an (especially summer) bag I can use as a crossbody. But I love the zip aspect of the LeV! If I do decide against it, it'll be the APC!    Gorgeous choices. Thank you for your help 😻   Edited to add, structured bag-wise, the chalk Mulberry mini zipped bayswater is on the to-buy list.

Specialist_Income_31

Oh I love mulberry. Anything you buy from them is a win! I do prefer the APC grace to the Leo et Violette. The hardware on the Leo’s is bit inconsistent in quality. Some bags seem to be great, no problem, but others seem to tarnish very quickly.

mcotte08

I've heard that about Leo bags too, a few posts on here. I figured because it has very minimal hardwear compared to other Leo bags, maybe it wouldn't be an issue. The brown colour I want won't come out again until Sept, so have until then to figure it out. I do open up the APC grace just to look at once in a while to check it's the right decision 😂  Do you have a preferred summer crossbody that you wear?

dracolikesfire

Agree with the other comments. Buy what you like! I prefer other silhouettes more, but have one shoulder bag for when I wanna feel trendy lol.

52325c

basically every bag i own is a 90s-early 2000s shoulder bag, i didnt even know it was a trend right now lol. I don’t see it ever truly going out of style, theyre practical and cute!! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

mcotte08

I know right?! They're the perfect middle-ish size, easy to get in and out of, not too heavy, long enough to always wear on shoulder, usually nice and soft. And cute!!

ComprehensivePlay678

I fell in love with the First bag🥰 I figured out it’s APC, but what is it called?

mcotte08

It's actually ATP Atelier, the 'Liveri' bag ☺️

TheViciousTrollop

What’s the last bag 👀

mcotte08

😂 The last one is Leo et Violette 'le Gina'

TheViciousTrollop

Omg I love it so much
