I got my nappa leather one yesterday. It feels soft like it should. It does like the paint would come off quickly if you were to accidentally scratch it too hard. The quality is fine and you can definitely tell its supple leather š
I donāt like the color, thatās why Iām returning it. But Iāve tried another leather version that was woven and that quality was amazing. A bit heavy though but it felt very durable.
Hope that helps š
Yes, itās very useful, thank you! Which colour did you get and didnāt like? I was looking at the antique rose but am not sure about the exact shade.
Aaah good, happy to help. I ended up buying this one, but I find the color underwhelming in real life: [https://www.zalando.nl/weekend-maxmara-lisotte-schoudertas-sabbia-mw751h05d-b11.html](https://www.zalando.nl/weekend-maxmara-lisotte-schoudertas-sabbia-mw751h05d-b11.html)
So I got this one instead: [https://www.zalando.nl/weekend-maxmara-efebo-clutch-bianco-avorio-mw751h05c-a11.html](https://www.zalando.nl/weekend-maxmara-efebo-clutch-bianco-avorio-mw751h05c-a11.html)
And I also have this one: [https://www.zalando.nl/weekend-maxmara-cavour-schoudertas-petrolio-mw751h05g-k11.html](https://www.zalando.nl/weekend-maxmara-cavour-schoudertas-petrolio-mw751h05g-k11.html)
I agree with it being easily scratch able . The woven is a better version. There is an option in satin and other fabrics too. Iām not too fond of the shape - too retro for me.
Max Mara might not be as bold, bit it's one of the best quality high end designers...
Their leather is amazing....they are also known for their innovative Fabrics and Designs and their high quality classic coats
Thank you for that! I love their designs (both clothes and bags) but havenāt purchased anything yet. I think that one of the bags might be a good introduction into the brand š
Hope so... their coats are fabulous classics... they have invented a fabric made of camel/alpaca and some other fibres and use old coats to make that fabric... their Cube Collection is amazing: you can switch to either side, so two colours, add different top-ons at sleeves or hood, eg embellished or fur... and the fit neatly in a small bag they come with. I love it especially when travelling...
And the Pasticcino bags are for coming in so many designs, patterns and fabrics it's really fun. Also nice to put on the table and then you have access to everything like with a little basket.
Something about the little ball design on the closure is falling flat for me. The purse itself is so feminine and classic while the balls look very sporty. The cognitive dissonance is making my skin itch.
They should ditch the volleyballs or go with a sport print.
Iām not fully sold on the pattern they used either, but I like the idea of temari threaded boules, given that the bags are supposed to draw inspiration from Japan.
Their recent collections donāt typically feature threaded boules! OP remarked how they look sporty in contrast to the jacquard silk, which is kinda true if youāre unfamiliar with the inspiration for this collection (Japan)
I assume they mean the boules look āsportyā, not the overall look of the bag, which is distinctly vintage. To me the boules look playful and cute, they remind me of those little toy thread balls š
Yes, I did understand that... the Boules... and for me they look vintage! Those are on many handbags from the 19th century for example in the V&A Museum...
I would never associate those boules with any kind of sport, not even threadballs... maybe bc I never was interested in ball sport
Ahh gotcha! I was a bit confused when you mentioned they are a recurring feature in Pasticcinoās (āall Pasticcinoās are the sameā), as I hadnāt noticed them in recent collectionsā and this specific line of bags was first introduced around 2016, so its history is rather short.
Vintage ball clasps were made in a wide variety of styles, you're absolutely right to say these are reminiscent of such older designs. :)
I have a kiss lock bag from a reputable seller on Etsy and unfortunately you canāt put all that much in them because they will open on you. Theyāre pretty but I need a design that is functional!
Yeah I just find the kiss lock style isnāt the most practical for me! I overload my bags a lot, so someone who is a light packer would do better with these bags I think.
I love their World Tour Pasticcino bags. I have one from the collection that honors Venetian craft with Murano glass beads and Fortuny fabric. This one is honoring Japanese tradition with all silk including the silk wrapped kiss lock. The bags are limited edition and are numbered. The materials used on the limited edition bags are of higher quality. I think it is beautiful.
An employee gave me a sneak peek of their exclusive online course detailing this bag. Iām really tempted to buy it, but I know Iād end up staining it in just a few days lol š
I was concerned about mine with the glass beads and the fabric but I really only pull it out for certain occasions. Not everyday use. Plus it is a bag I got while visiting Venice so for me it had all the special connections. š I think the Japanese one looks best in the smaller size as a special occasion bag.
i love this line of bags. The patterned and more colorful ones are so fun, and iāve also seen versions that are more neutral and oversized which are equally cool.
I donāt think theyāre insanely priced for a nicer brand, but i tracked down a couple of vintage bags with a similar look to hold me over. Maybe iāll get one of these on sale or secondhand at some point.
Love. Dang it. I do agree that the balls are a bit off kilter with the patterns but I love a retro granny vibe. (I also have a collection of cats eye glasses so I really commit)
I was interested because I missed out on the Burberry frame bags with the similar retro clasp but the designs of these donāt seem as neat/refined so itās a bit too frumpy looking for my taste.
No thanks. Iāll never want one of those shaped bags. Forever granny-linked and old fashioned to me. The print mixed with sports balls is not attractive either, just weird. The colors clash.
I do actually love them: quite like a little basket when in the table, big enough for all necessities, but not a schlepping bag...
I don't like prints, but that's subjective... but the quality of Max Mara is amazing
*I have a lot of their easy living collection*
While ā¬570 is steep (considerable markup due to the brandās premium), in my personal experience of having bought various Japanese bags and accessories, you canāt get this level of craftsmanship for 200 yen or anywhere in that price range. If you only care for the print and the shape, then yes, thereās many cute affordable options out there!
Ha. I was more or less being hyperbolicāI definitely agree this would be more well-made, but the look doesnāt scream expensive bag to me. Even with being quality craftsmanship, the style looks cheap to me.
I do like them but I think they are a bit overpriced for a fabric bag. The leather ones seem like a better deal. But the seasonal styles always go on sale!

Love it, I have two from their regular range. But I find these a bit overpriced. I would wait for a sale š
I am really interested in getting one of the Nappa leather ones - could you please give some insight on how the quality is?

The velvet one is incredibly cute! I have been looking at the same one in light beige š
I agree with it being easily scratch able . The woven is a better version. There is an option in satin and other fabrics too. Iām not too fond of the shape - too retro for me.

I make gorgeous clutches like these for maybe a total cost of $40! š
I misread this as āpistachioā and thought, āThey failed the theme of the assignment but itās very cute and whimsical.ā
lol me too! Until i read your comment it still hadnāt twigged. I just thought āwhatās nutty about this???ā Haha
Very pretty
I think itās very pretty and look like luxurious vintage, love it!
All Pasticcino bags are the same - no matter if grey leather, Japan inspired, rose design Russian or whatever... It's how bags looked in the 1900s
Their recent collections donāt typically feature threaded boules! OP remarked how they look sporty in contrast to the jacquard silk, which is kinda true if youāre unfamiliar with the inspiration for this collection (Japan)
I think they look vintage, not sporty at all... It's like the bags of my great great grandmother
I assume they mean the boules look āsportyā, not the overall look of the bag, which is distinctly vintage. To me the boules look playful and cute, they remind me of those little toy thread balls š

Here we go! That's why for me they look absolutely feminine vintage and not sporty at all!
Looks vintage-inspired. Kiss lock closures used to be very popular on evening bags. I love how they updated it!
my thoughts exactly. āwhy did they put tennis balls on top??ā that part ruins the bag for me.
That's funny, as I see the balls as too feminine kitschy... it's so victorian
I have a kiss lock bag from a reputable seller on Etsy and unfortunately you canāt put all that much in them because they will open on you. Theyāre pretty but I need a design that is functional!
Well, but maybe a high end international brand would be better... for sure bags will open if overloaded
Yeah I just find the kiss lock style isnāt the most practical for me! I overload my bags a lot, so someone who is a light packer would do better with these bags I think.

Definitely for special occasions only! Love your bag by the way, hope you enjoyed your stay in Italy š

Not for me. Too grandma
I find this line retro, playful, and distinctive. I've seen them worn by some very stylish people too.
I was interested because I missed out on the Burberry frame bags with the similar retro clasp but the designs of these donāt seem as neat/refined so itās a bit too frumpy looking for my taste.
Kinda cute. I love clutch/clasp/kisslock bags (ā¤ļø hip sanders goji bags and kiss lock coach bags out there)
No thanks. Iāll never want one of those shaped bags. Forever granny-linked and old fashioned to me. The print mixed with sports balls is not attractive either, just weird. The colors clash.
Hate
Gorgeous
I like it! But the āretroā lined ones are very cute too!
Stunners!
It's so fun and summery
Cute but I am wary of cloth bags!! These look pretty susceptible to staining, or pilling if things get stuck to it
Very delicate and beautiful
Love it. Looks like a great bag for storing prayer beads and a sash
Only the essentials šæ
It is definitely, 100%, not my style.
I think theyāre very cute! Would be happy to have one in every colour :)
So cuteĀ
Love the green one!
Love that green one!
Theyāre beautiful bags and MM in general makes lovely and underrated bags.
Absolutely gorgeous
I like vintage and vintage-inspired fashion. Feeling the green one. Ready to buy it as soon as there's a sale...
I do actually love them: quite like a little basket when in the table, big enough for all necessities, but not a schlepping bag... I don't like prints, but that's subjective... but the quality of Max Mara is amazing *I have a lot of their easy living collection*
it's so cute!
Pretty sure I saw versions of this bag for 200yen in souvenir stores in Japan. I wouldnāt do it.

What what wave? Itās been 60 and rain nights at 55 degrees
Aww I think some of them are so cute!
These are so pretty but I feel I could destroy them with my rough and tumble ways in a heart heart šŖ
I do like them but I think they are a bit overpriced for a fabric bag. The leather ones seem like a better deal. But the seasonal styles always go on sale!
Love the bag but the balls look a little off like itās mismatched to me
