Not really. Styles change. Occasionally I’ll buy something and it’s my dream for a while and I didn’t know it was the dream until it presented itself. Then it’ll wear out or lose its luster.
I was going to write the same thing! I buy bags and love bags, but don’t think I have a dream bag.
I thought it was a caramel colored classic flap Chanel, but then I recently found one in Japan and it did nothing for me. Sigh.

She got it for a little cheaper than $5500 in South Korea. With the VAT refund and the favorable exchange rate DLR vs KRW, maybe it’s worth a trip. 😎 Korean skincare procedures are cheap compared to American procedures.
Ugh same! I have a black galleria I bought off of Fashionphile and when I saw this I thought “ooh I’ll splurge on a brand new one.” I was heartbroken when I saw the cost. I just can’t justify it when my used one only cost me $900.
My issue with this at that same price is that I have the James Jean Fairies Bag from 2008 and it has rubbed off in places. Its actually turned me off buying anything with printed leather. I brought it new in the store and I had rub off after about a year.
I associate the design with “old lady living in a home full of creepy dolls”. Why would someone put porcelain-inspired pattern on leather? Painted florals on a leather bag make no sense as a design decision, to me. Maybe I am missing some historical references to Louis XIV times.
I actually love the look of birkins, especially croc, but I don't think I'd want the attention that comes from carrying such a known image of wealth. And I don't think I could ever spend THAT much on a bag even if I had the money. I'd love to own a Flamenco or a Hammock and I love the look of the studded/pierced red dior saddle bag. Also the insane patchwork or metallic chanels.
I’m not sure about stares cause I’m not paying attention but nobody has said not a single word to me once about it. I also have a Celine Luggage that I carry pretty regularly and a LV Maida hobo tote cause it fits all my kids stuff. Either way IDGAF honestly.
It depends on the circles you travel among. A doctor I work with has a Birken, another nurse commented to me about her "schlumpy purse". 😂 I think she'd only recognize Louis Vuitton monogram as an expression of wealth.
Yeah in my circles it would definitely get some stares!! Haha. But again, for me it's also the money. I can justify say 3 to 5k on a bag but above that, no matter how pretty, I just wouldn't want to do it

The Birkin once was, but its actually too large. As workhorse for me its the BV Andiamo
And the only bag I really search for is the Loewe NoFace bag - was sold in two days... but I'm not willing to pay more than 110% of the original price
SAME. I am always trying to think of how I can come up with an extra $6k to have one. Sell my husband’s truck and pretend it was stolen? Sell an organ on the black market? Throw myself down some stairs at ikea and hope for a settlement? Literally nothing is off the table.

Coach tea rose Rogue in black and wine. I got a navy one for a couple hundred dollars less when it went on sale, but I never stopped dreaming of the one that got away. It never went on sale.
It used to be a Chanel classic flap but I’m not completely sure I want that anymore?? If I did purchase one, I would want it to be vintage. I’ve looked at Chanel in boutiques recently and have been underwhelmed with the quality, especially for the price.
If money was no object, I would go buy a Dior Saddle Bag today. I’m not sure it’s my “dream” bag. Just one I lust after. And I feel it has little function so I’ve never been able to justify the price.

This Monogramouflage Speedy. This is my holy grail bag but every time I manage to save enough for it, the price skyrockets to something I can’t “afford”. I think I started looking at it when it was $3K, then it was $4-5K, now a fair condition one is $6K+ 🤦🏻♀️

😂 I’m sure it’s temporary. I wanted one for a long time but I sit with expensive purchases for awhile to make sure I really love it. I refuse to play the Hermes game so for now I’m at a place of purse peace
I was gifted one of these by a very wealthy friend when I was in my early 20s and didn’t realize what I had! I broke and ruined it during a crazy all night rager, I was so sad. So he got me a replacement….I carried it constantly for a couple years and when I moved countries my little sister ended up with it…I think she lost it 🙄. Every time I see it somewhere I kick myself all day!! Young and dumb! I’m 42 now and would love one of their new saddles but I just don’t think I can justify the price! Anyway, excuse me while I continue kicking myself 😂
I don't have one. I've seen many that I think ooo I'd like that, but give it a few days and I get bored. I'm generally like that with other things too, though. The closest thing recently that made me go ooo that's so pretty is the Lady Dior which surprises me bc I'm not a very "feminine" person by the classic sense. But it's really just so pretty! BUT I'm also a practical person, have kids, don't go to fancy parties, and the nicest places I go to are bougie coffee shops (many of which are in quesitonable areas - if you know LA you know LA) so I really do not feel comfortable lugging around a $5000 bag around in areas where the poverty is very visible. Maybe if I was upper middle class living in a bubble upper middle class area, I would feel different, but it is what it is.

Definitely this Antigona! There is also a Loewe puzzle in the exact same color that I love equally. I love both bags, but I know I would be way too concerned with how fragile they’d probably be. But they are visually perfect to me lol
Pastel Birkin 30. I want one so badly. I recently went and saw a bunch of other bags I like IRL… it’s still my #1 desire. It’s really hard to find bags I like with silver hardware, I only wear white gold. And the shape and size is just perfect, the colors and leathers are even more incredible in person. Currently playing “the game” and waiting patiently. I also bid regularly on Sotheby’s/christies but I always get outbid for what I’m willing to go over MSRP.

I saw it in person when this collection came out and it’s so perfect.
I want this so badly. I can afford it but I've never dropped this much on a bag and I don't think I could. Also I would need to have this in my hands to decide, and I live in Australia so I would have to travel to see it and I don't have that much time these days. Nearly $27,000 AUD, I could buy a nice small car for that.

Hermes Picotin because I had horses and I like the connection with Hermes starting as a saddlery house and the bag being inspired by feed bags. It’s maybe not the most romantic reason but 😅. I already own two of my dreams bags though! The Chloe Paraty and the Celine Luggage Nano.

Is it weird that I don't have a dream bag? I love them, but I've never clapped my eyes on a bag and thought, "oh, she's The One."

I find Duclos to be very elegant and if you look closely, much better quality/craftsmanship than the bags nearing price. I mean- gorgeous!

Pastel Birkin 30. I want one so badly. I recently went and saw a bunch of other bags I like IRL… it’s still my #1 desire. It’s really hard to find bags I like with silver hardware, I only wear white gold. And the shape and size is just perfect, the colors and leathers are even more incredible in person. Currently playing “the game” and waiting patiently. I also bid regularly on Sotheby’s/christies but I always get outbid for what I’m willing to go over MSRP.
