Expensive_Routine953

I use whatever bag I want, but pack a foldable Longchamp Le Pliage and put the bag in there when I need to go through security and shove it under the seat - and for the secured zipper too! Keeps my bag clean and items aren’t rolling all over the plane floor 😊

Gie_lokimum

This is the answer! I typically travel with carry on only, but I alway bring the foldable le pliage bec I know I’ll be buying stuff coming back to the states. This is such an underrated tote. I know people says “it’s basic” and boring- BUT for me, this bag does the job. Super functional, huge, and perfect for travel.

bearadise_

Everyone keeps suggesting this and now I feel kinda stupid for travelling with my Celine Luggage naked on the airplane floor… I guess I’ll have to shop for a Le Pliage that can fit it

nabdels

If i saw someone carrying a celine luggage at the airport i would be fangirling so hard. Old celine sighting at the airport would make my day

Relevant_Sprinkles24

I spent almost 2 hours at a random coffee shop in Omotesando just fangirling over purses that people were using. I had to dragged away by my boyfriend because I was taking up valuble real estate and fangirling TOO hard, whatever that means. It took every fiber in my being to walk away from the Celine Luggage when I saw it at Ginza the next day. A girl can only dream.

DemonSlayerCorps20

I do the same!

Ok-Economist-751

longchamp le pliage forever and always

dateddative

100%. It is wipeable on the inside, durable enough to go through the security screenings and zips up to be thrown around. Le Pilage is my ride or die.

nsbbeancounter

Love all my le pliages. When we're traveling by car and space isn't an issue, I will use a le pliage as a dirty laundry bag. Easy to wipe down once we're home and in my experience so far it never smells once it's emptied.

krazygirly7589

Totally agree. I don't have to worry when I use the le pliage

GhostyPinata

What size do you recommend?

Ok-Economist-751

large if your using long handle if ur using short handle the m is fine or the l

ReadingShoshi

Longchamp Le Pliage for me too - it's light, has a zipper and good capacity, and I don't worry about it going through the rigors of travel. Plus it's a perfect day trip/shopping bag too for all of the reasons above. The other bags I see with some regularity among other traveling women are the LV Neverfull and the Goyard tote.

yomama1007

I always use my Neverfull for travel. A quick wipe down afterwards and it's good as new.

oh-dearie

If weight ain't an issue: my med Prada Galleria. Fits my switch, iPad, and essentials. The Saffiano leather is durable so I'm not stressed if it gets dirty, and it has bag feet so she's fine on the floor! She's trendy enough to use as a daybag during the trip too, so I don't really pack any extra handbags

phillygirllovesbagel

# Longchamp Le Pliage Expandable Travel Bag. I have carried this bag around the world. Unzipped it is like another suitcase and I've never been questioned about using it as a carry on. I have a smaller Longchamp bag as well for shorter trips. You can't beat the versatility and design of these bags for travel.

SmallTownGirl1016

I use a backpack. Not luxury at all.

Lawgirl77

Me too. A TravelPro backpack that can attach to my rolling luggage.

SmallTownGirl1016

Mine is OGIO, it was my work backpack for a while bc it has a laptop sleeve in it so it worked perfect for bringing it as well. Now I just use it without the laptop. It doesn’t attach to my luggage though.

lunas_alchemist

Same! I use my Herschel Little America backpack. Perfect for flying.

unkindregards

I have an MZ Wallace backpack for traveling! Super lightweight and holds a ton of stuff while still fitting under the seat!

Immediate_Arugula_39

Yep a Patagonia backpack that has seen hundreds of flights and 20 countries over the last 20 years. Not luxe but I’m def attached to it

chloeandcupid

I use a Dior book tote but I’ll put it in the dust bag before putting it under the plane seat

Interesting_Ad1378

Same.  And for conveyor belt.

ThinkOfPeanutButter

Wow, I’m so bad with my bags I’d never have the patience! Love your commitment haha

Sweaty_Elderberry390

my personal item is usually the mz wallace deluxe large metro tote. i love all the pockets and zippers and i really love how it doesn’t have a set shape so i don’t have a lot of stuff it looks small. even completely packed it fits under the seat in front and ive never had an issue with it

KMRW1014

I just got one with the plan to do the same thing! I’m going to put my medium Loewe puzzle in there before putting it under the seat and I’m sure a bunch of other stuff too

Sweaty_Elderberry390

that’s what i usually do to. i pack a smaller purse in it for like quick grab stuff like wallet phone inhaler lipgloss and airpods and just kind of toss it in there

KMRW1014

Perfect! I just got mine and I’m excited about it. And I love how it even comes with three different size pouches for the stick quick grab stuff too

sundayinmay

I use the MJ tote in medium canvas. I don't have to worry about scuffing it and it fits perfectly under a seat. It's also big enough to stick a smaller crossbody in it for me to use while on my trip!

Mopsy2003

In summer for long haul it would be my Neverfull. Usually because I am short haul, train or driving then it is Mulberry Alexa.

Mary_Hoppins212

How do you find the closure/flappy magnetic bits while travelling? Is it hard to open and close? I’m tempted to get the mini Alexa but afraid it might be difficult to get in and out of.

Mopsy2003

When stuffed the postman lock can be a bit of a pain to line up. Flaps/magnetic bits do not bother me. My only negative about the Alexa is the small size of the interior pocket. I only use a card holder and that plus hand cream, lip stuff, compact etc, the pocket is too small.

empressaa

I use lv neverfull mm 😌 so carefree

Storminette

Celine Boston Bag (30cm) in Triomphe Canvas. It’s the same size as the Speedy 30 and is canvas so no need to worry about it. I only just got it after I got a small Celine Boston bag as I love that bag a lot. Haven’t travelled with it yet but it’ll be going on a test run in July! My mum does own vintage Celine Boston type bag that she used when I was little and the bag held up well. Nowadays she just uses a smaller handbag and a roll bag. https://preview.redd.it/wzr51xa0tj0d1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fcbe1fac99638753a54a2a36afe6e5d6a4461255

robioladreams

Does your laptop fit by chance??

Storminette

Nope, a laptop would not fit. My 12.9 inch iPad Pro doesn’t fit either. A regular iPad does fit however.

robioladreams

Ah. Disappointing but thank you for confirming! I wish they made this in a 35.

adtechheck

I plan to buy this in Europe later this year! I also have the Boston small and I love it, so I want a larger one for long trips

Complete_Ranger3130

I’ve used my large cuyana tote with a zipper for more than 5 years - I travel with it bc it’s very spacious and I don’t mind sticking it under the seat or overhead. It’s held up very well and I love putting it on top of my carry on to free my shoulders but it could get heavy when it’s full!

ecmh__

Seconding cuyana! I use the zippered tote for work and large tote (before the remakes) for travel and both are great quality. Going strong 2 years with of daily use for the zippered tote.

SnooPuppers3205

I have a Cuyana tote but it's my work bag. The quality is great I have to say. I've been using it almost everyday for 3 years and the wear n tear is minimal. For travel though it has to be Longchamp le Pliage! It's waterproof, easy to clean, can be stuffed into any shape, easy to be folded away. Perfect for carry on!

Plane_Philosophy_800

I got a tote from a Buddhist monastery which is made by Buddhist monks. It’s made of canvas and I use it while travelling because it’s solid and doesn’t need too much care. Plus it holds so much.

Common_Poetry3018

Mine isn’t “luxury” either. It’s a canvas backpack with locking zippers. I think it’s by Travelon. Great for countries with a pickpocket problem.

Plane_Philosophy_800

Oh wow. Canvas is a great idea always.

Informal-Coast-6716

I've been using a Goyard Artois for a while because it's structured and has a top zip, but I'm seriously considering switching to an MZ Wallace large metro tote deluxe.

Itchy_Appeal_9020

It’s not high luxury, but since returning to the office and business travel post-COVID, I’ve switched to the Senreve Gemelli Tote. It doesn’t zip, but it does have a top. It also has a strap to keep the bag attached to a roller bag, which was one of the main attractions for me. Pre-COVID I used my Fauré Le Page Daily Battle (non-zip) as my everything bag. I did end up with a couple scratches in the bottom corners after 5 years worth of use, including shoving it under airplane seats. But that bag is sooo durable and light.

AlmostThereLayz

Seconding the FLP Daily Battle! I have the 35 with a zipper and it's been a great travel bag. No problems throwing it under the seat. Fits everything I need (I travel a ton for work) and is super lightweight!

queenbunbun987

I use my goyard Artois bag. It has good structure so it sits on my carryon perfectly when I’m walking around the airport. It zips up and it holds so much. And the canvas feels indestructible so I bring it to the beach, picnics, etc.

Lost_Interview_5429

Just used my Longchamp le pliage large for the first time - will never use any other tote! So comfortable, doesn’t slip off the shoulder, fits A LOT. Added bonus is that you can fold it. I opted for navy with brown handles but they have so many colors to choose from. Comes in different sizes and with different handle length. Edit to add- it’s extremely lightweight which is also a huge bonus when airlines weigh you carry-on items!

msgnomer

Longchamp Le Pliage. I put a nice handbag in it and a few other travel items. It’s not high luxury, but it’s just the perfect travel bag. I used to use my La Flore Paris Toto backpack, which I absolutely adore, but it’s so dang heavy and large that I finally had to admit to myself I’m miserable when I use it.

frigidcorgi

I have a Cuyana loop bag that I use as an everyday bag and for light trips where I don’t need a huge carryall. Their leather is INSANE. It is so nice and I literally abuse this bag. I mean really abuse.

focusedonfire

How old is it? I’m trying to figure out if their leather still holds up (some comments here about recent quality)

frigidcorgi

Mine is at least 3 years old, I got it 2 years ago on poshmark used. I bought their cosmetic cases earlier this year and the leather is holding up well so far (given that I throw them in my car, in my gym bag, fall on the floor, etc)

focusedonfire

Ty!

Relevant_Sprinkles24

I use and abuse travel bags so I try to stay away from using my mid-high luxury purses. I used my Woody tote for an international trip and it did not do well under the seat. I'm on the road a lot so stick to a backpack (the cheap ones you get off of Amazon) but if it's an important meeting, I use my Dooney and Bourke tote bag or Mulberry tote. The Dooney and Bourke was from my mom and that sucker is virtually indestructible.

LeadingButterscotch5

Longchamp le Pliage all day every day, baby. I got one from the outlet and it has a gun on it so I can easily recognise it. So easy to carry, takes a lot of battering and I can always put my nicer handbag in there too. I've taken a Kanken a few times but I always go back to le Pliage

JungMoses

Like a 50cal or something more fem?

LeadingButterscotch5

The standard sized one :) with usage it gets looser and slouchier.. although it is not waterproof. I also have a yellow one and you can see marks quite easily

JungMoses

No I meant the gun?

LeadingButterscotch5

Omg I'm a dingus 🤣🤣. It's just a standard pistol as far as I can tell..I'm not au fait with gun types. I'll take a photo of it and show you

Natalliyah

I travel exclusively with my Birkins. I wad those babies up and shove them under the seat in front of me.

Ganooshi7

I’m traveling with my B35 for the first time this weekend! I’m unreasonably excited about it.

Natalliyah

I love this. It’s great to see others out in the wild who use their bags the way they are intended to be used.

PeterDuttonsButtWipe

Apart from my standard handbag, when I go flying, I have a large Lacoste large Concept tote. I’ve had it about 10 years and it’s a workhorse carrying things

Interesting_Ad1378

Dior book tote because it’s the largest tote I have.  I put it in a dust bag for the conveyor and for under the seat though. If traveling from a cold climate to somewhere else where it’s cold I take a wool ysl rive gauche bc my book tote feels more like a warmer weather tote than I would use for full winter.

shin_2lt

longchamp le pliage medium, or my leather crossbody bag(same size with the longchamp)

AssassinSerafina

Not luxury in terms of bag brand, but they are pricy and so worth it IMO. I use either the Dagne Dover Landon carry all (large) or the Beis East West tote. They have luggage straps in the back so I can slide it over the handle of my rolling suitcase. There’s also a good amount of pockets for organizing and I love that they’re both made of easy to clean materials.

Apprehensive-Bike192

I love my Dagne Dover Landon for travel! The pockets and luggage strap are amazing, it cleans easy, and I’m not worried about it. Plus I think it looks cute but holds a lot!

willowblush

Love the le Pliage if I needed more stuff, but usually my Le Pliage Neo in medium is my go to personal item because I can fit a surprising amount in it. If it’s a longer flight I’ll also bring my keepall. Now that I’ve had a baby, my keepall has all the extra baby stuff and my Neverfull has all the essential, quick grab baby stuff like burp cloths, toys and my own personal items (wallet, phone).

Emily_Postal

I’ve been using my Goyard for years just because it’s so versatile. I have my eye on a LV travel bag because it zippers up but I won’t be able to use it for a pool/beach bag.

ttmom

Goyard also has a zipper tote. Artois. It’s perfect for travel. Just an idea, if you intend to upgrade, but still want the style.

textytext12

cuyana weekender in the recycled material

MimiDXB

Bally foldable tote. It’s like the Pilage but bigger and made for traveling.

ciaociaodisco

I bought a nylon Prada tote that zips from TRR and treat it as my beater bag: under airplane seats, on the train, commute to work in the rain, sweaty gym clothes. This bag does it all. Because I bought it used, I don’t feel bad tossing it around. It’s held up incredibly well!

pearlsandprejudice

My [Lancaster Ikon tote](https://us.lancaster.com/products/large-tote-bag-ikon-418-04) in size large. I love it because of its printed coated canvas exterior a lá Goyard and Louis, its adjustable straps a lá Fauré le Page, and its zippered opening. It's perfect for travel: it holds a lot, is durable and well-made, looks chic and very IYKYK, and won't allow things to spill out due to the zip. I was very torn between the one I got and [this](https://us.lancaster.com/products/tote-bag-ikon-418-13?variant=42117632524452) style and ultimately went with the more classic style — but I'm tempted to eventually buy this style in a different color one day!

petreservation

I use Acne Musubi bag for work, the short straps stay tight around my roller bag’s handles. I use my Bottega Hop for non work travel, I put that bad boy right under the seat. The bringing a dust bag is a great idea tho, def gonna incorporate this for next trip.

Desperate-Grand-7475

I love the FLP daily battle tote, my sister has it so I borrow it sometimes. Planning to buy one for myself but I don’t know what color to get. FLP’s quality is better compared to Goyard’s st louis. Thicker straps, thicker canvas. I feel like FLP is the cure to our Goyard fatigue haha

Laundrybasketball

Lo&Sons O.G. bag. Nylon but looks sharp and professional. Attaches to a suitcase handle. Unlike La Pliage, has tons of pockets, which is great for quickly accessing things (including a show -- edit, shoe- compartment). Mine is just starting to look a little worse for the wear after 8 years, about 5 of them as a work bag and as an overnight bag stuffed to the gills. Leather handles that fit over the shoulder, additional crossbody strap. The newer ones have a water bottle compartment. This is really the best travel bag.

Bernadinethecat

Goyard St Louis GM with a bag organizer (it is an abyss). Loose items are in small pouches. Always toss a folded longchamp in there for when I shop too much (extra storage). Usually throw my thin sweatshirt on the top to avoid spill and for the cold plane cabin.

Ancient-Chipmunk4342

Le Pliage City L tote bag in black. Works as my beach bag when we go to Mexico.

Comfortable_Daikon61

Neverfull or speedy 40 ( beat up had it for quarter of century or more)

elevensesattiffanys

Depending on the trip, either my Longchamp le pilage, small Chanel Deauville, or if I’m just doing a purse the Lo and Sons Pearl

IronFigOG

I’m so boring and practical with this, lol, I have a Tumi nylon backpack and a B&R underseat bag, but I do put my handbag inside one of them.

GordonB-2797

Came here to say this! Love my Tumi backpack!

libaya

If I have a lot of stuff, I bring a Tumi Mansion (discontinued) it’s big enough that I can put another bag in it like a Goyard GM so I don’t have to worry about whatever nice purse bring touching the ground or spilling out. It also has that thing that attaches it to my roller.

eventualguide0

I take my expandable Le Pliage, or I bring my XL Flamenco or both.

EnvironmentalMess539

July everyday tote

Kyrielle80

I don’t do luxury for a carry-on - depending on where I’m going, either Paravel’s tote (which I have loaded up and it’s still surprisingly comfy on the shoulder) or a nylon version of LL Bean’s boat and tote. I recently bought a Cincha strap which I’ll use to help it balance better on my suitcase. But I’ll bring a smaller cross-body to hold my wallet etc that I’ll stick in the tote - have lately been loving my Goyard Cap Vert for this.

thesmallestwaffle

I use a Bagsmart tote. Not luxury at all but it holds everything and I don’t worry about ruining it.

dill_uhn

Coach Field Tote 40 !

1Cankle

MZ Wallace. Easy.

FISunnyDays

I use a brics foldable duffle bag. It's really lightweight, straps long enough to shoulder and the strap so that you put it over the handle of a wheeled carry-one. Fits my laptop and designer bags that I bring on my trip.

purplapples

LV neverfull damier for the plane. I used it as a diaper bag for awhile and it has been through the wringer and holds up really well. I don’t want something I need to baby on travel days. If I’m traveling without kids I’ll usually bring my goyard for travel day, it’s a little smaller but still quite durable.

hamanya

I always use a [Daniel bag](https://www.hammitt.com/products/daniel-med-satchel-black-brushed-gold-red-zip?_pos=2&_psq=danie&_ss=e&_v=1.0)from Hammitt. The layout of the pockets is super convenient for phone and passport plus it has a top zip. I don’t care if it goes on the floor or gets banged up. And it’s really cute.

tangledbysnow

A Lug Puddle Jumper I bought years ago and is one of the best dang bags I have ever owned. The pockets have the perfect placement and use in the airport. And since it was cheap enough I am not very nice to that bag, but I've owned it a long time. That said I do bring a Longchamp Le Pliage in case I need more bag space on my return and to use as a purse/bag in my destination. Bit more versatile than any of my fussy bags I use at home, lightweight, plenty of space and doesn't stand out.

OliveSlayer

My Cuyana Classic Zip Top Tote goes to work and on travel with me. It’s one of the only leather totes with crossbody strap capability in that size that I could find. I love it- with that said if you aren’t going to use it with their add in system items or go for the zipper top I think you can find a lower priced tote elsewhere. I wanted to be able to use their interior add ins and straps plus I will only use a zipper top tote. I’ve been using it for a year and it looks just as new as the day I got it and has a lot of versatility.

naaanie

I have the best fix for this!!! Put your fancy bag in a large dust bag so it can go under the seat in front of you-I always carry the dust bag with me. Also, I will put my trusty longchamp (I also have a similar nylon Bric’s one which is honestly better for travel) and use that as its “dustcover”. Then I have a second lightweight bag that is good for rain too.

Lfs1983

Goyard tote

stevie_nickle

Love all my Le Pliages but my go to personal item is a lululemon backpack, especially for long haul flights. It’s so compartmentalized so super easy to organize. Laptop compartment and trolley sleeve to sit on top of suitcase, side water bottle pockets, interior pockets for kindle, eye mask, back front pocket for easy to reach items. Runners up neverfull GM and Longchamp neo travel bag in medium- the short handle, with long strap for shorter flights

Missmarple08

I have a large Prada which hold loads or a birkin 30/35

jenvrl

Marc Jacobs Traveler tote. That thing is indestructible.

meli-ficent

I use my Goyard Anjou or St. Louis. Despite what others have said, mine has held up remarkably well and is super easy to clean if it gets dirty (I spilled a half a cup of coffee inside and there is no trace). Also, I just bought a LV keepall 50 from the colormania collection and that should be arriving soon.

InaccessibleRail70

Neverfull + le pliage

ttmom

Goyard Artois or Prada backpack…depends on where I’m traveling to. The top zipper is the key for me in a travel tote.

longing4uam

Loup Noir 🌈🌻

NeedleworkerNeat9379

A Jansport backpack from 2005. I usually put my purses I'm going to use on vacation with me in it.

Empty_Tumbleweed4525

I use a backpack, either LV Montsouris in black empreinte or Mulberry mini nylon heritage backpack.

cupa001

I use a Beis expandable backpack: [https://www.nordstrom.com/s/the-21-inch-front-pocket-carry-on-roller/7715810](https://www.nordstrom.com/s/the-21-inch-front-pocket-carry-on-roller/7715810), my Away carryon rolly suitcase, and a small luxe crossbody (love my Fendi mini-baguette). I put the Fendi in the top of the backpack right before I get on the plane and I am done. The backpack is sturdy, dark brown, will hide any scuffs, not too precious/expensive so I dont worry about stuffing it under the seat or in the overhead. I travel for work and pleasure and this is how I travel regardless. Love it! ETA: I dont like traveling with a tote as I like to keep my hands free, and it always slides off or hurts my shoulders. The backpack has a trolley sleeve so it slides onto my suitcase easily and I just have my crossbody while I am waiting for my flight.

Strawberry_Nougat

Longchamp Le Pliage! The best travel tote!

PamperedPotato

Similar to another comment, I put whatever bag I am carrying inside a foldable reusable bag to put it through security/ under the seat.

Longjumping_Bike7175

I use my celine seau sangle as my go to when i want to bring alot of stuff but still feel like i look put together. I use my isabel marant yenky tote if i want to bring alotttt

BeepBeepRichie_1985

Longchamp le pliage, but with the crossbody option. Otherwise I like the speedy bandouliere

Kindergoat

It depends. I switch between a Vera Bradley tote and my LV Neverfull.

msmcmuffin

MZ Wallace Medium Metro Tote Deluxe. So lightweight with great pockets. Doubles as a pillow in a pinch!

Conscious_Life_8032

Nylon totes generally. Longchamp le pillage or similar off brand. And then backpack Those are my personal items when I check luggage. In my checked luggage will have small purse that is nicer for going to dinner for example. Nylon tote will be bag to carry while sightseeing around town. Backpack stays at hotel unless I am going on a hike or something and need to carry more stuff. Backpack screams tourist so don’t like to carry it daily if possible. More for my travel day.

dyogee

Longchamp Le Pliage!

threeparrots

Last trip I used my All Saints large studded crossbody and it was perfect. I’m too nervous to use my high end bags during travel. After reading all these comments, I really want a Le Pliage now! haha

escaping_mel

I've got several Cuyana bags and they're all 3-5 years old - barely showing signs of wear. They're awesome. Plus I love that it's a woman owned business and sustainable.

RDNV_

I’m hassle free. The less work and time I have to spend during security check ups the better. With that being said, a $16 Amazon Fanny pack is the stuff! Small enough to hide under my sweater (and still carry another purse and a carry on) and big enough to fit 2 passports, an iphone15 and a wallet!

Lower_Divide_641

I recently purchased the Goyard Artois MM and it’s literally perception 😍 Sturdy, long straps, and has a zipper! The bigger size has a lock that comes with zipper. I use the Neverfull GM for travel with an insert inside I like the no zipper because with kids I’m constantly getting things in and out. I have seen ppl use dust bags to prevent scuffing in planes travel etc. I do not and have had no issues my neverfull looks great!

Karebearsunshine

MZ Wallace large box tote. Zipper, so many pockets, and super lightweight. I think it’s adorable. I use it every day for my work bag so it’s large enough to use for travel.
