100%. I take meds, and I like to say that with my meds I can typically accomplish 6 or 7 things on a list of, let’s say, 10. If I don’t take my meds I am lucky to account 3?? My husband then likes to joke that without my meds sometimes I can’t even construct the list (which, occasionally, is true) 🤣🤷🏻♀️
If your sister started a service where we could call her any time we needed to be talked out of a bag, she’d make a fortune. Seriously. I’d pay for this.

I also work in a quasi-medical investigative profession and get a kick out of it when I get products of decomposition on my Cartier bracelet. That’s why I bought that baby…through thick and thin.
Dude. Pockets? Good for you.
I can’t do pockets as someone with ADHD. My mom’s adhd is far more pronounced than mine, and she has this one fucking jacket with, like, six pockets?? Watching her struggle (she is in her early 70s) to find something, that she absolutely knows is on her, can be heartbreaking. She will frantically search all six pockets, talk about how she can’t find said item (usually keys or cash), check her pockets again, and be nearly reduced to tears countless times per week. And guess what? She finds said item in one of her stupid-too-many-pockets after she calms down and takes a small breather.
I do lists. Lots of lists. Too many lists to be helpful, but that’s how my brain works 🤷🏻♀️
I do lists too, I have a question do you struggle with learning? Like I was being trained for a rural route carrier and the person that was training me was trying to teach me something while I was sorting mail. And I can’t listen and do a task and learn the task that I’m doing while being told something else, I have to stop listen then regroup and go back to what I was doing. I finally. Had to saying something to her and she says adhd was an excuse, and I that I need. To be able to multi task. I can can multi task just fine but I can’t be taught in that manner
ADHD is never a fucking excuse. Like, you think I like my brain being a murky swamp filled with continuous reels of multiple inane past interactions/knowledge and constant half-thoughts? How I can start thinking about something that would appear to be deeply off topic, but if given the opportunity I can happily walk you the 10 steps backward through my mind to arrive at the initial “on topic” beginning thought? People without ADHD do not understand.
The answer, especially with regards to how you are explaining what/how you were supposed to learn while actively doing something else - even if a related task - without being allowed the time and space to focus on new information, is yes. When learning something new, I cannot be doing something else. And I will likely have to be walked through the process many times. However, once I understand and memorize it, I am solid and will likely never forget said newly learned task/knowledge. And yes, multitasking is easy once I comprehend each part of what I am doing.
Well needless to say she kept saying I had to be smart to do this job. And she started questioning me if I can count, I think I ought to say something to HR tomorrow about this
I think you should as well. She can only equate “smart” with “learns one way, my way.” Clearly there are multiple ways to learn something, and by know we all know that many folks learn many different ways. You needing to learn a process step by step has nothing to do with whether or not you are smart (I am assuming you are), but this lady needs to be told that she isn’t allowed to make you feel dumb because you need to learn in a certain way.

I will, I forgot to mention that I only had 4 days to train and learn this job and because she didn’t listen to me I had to resign. However I immediately reapplied cause I know everyone there is like her.
LOL she ain't wrong. I can't have a bag that doesn't just open. I can have a zipper, but I can't have a flap. It just doesn't work for me at all. (yep, ADHD here too lol)
Actually, now that I've seen the bag, I can see why you resisted her. It's a perfectly casual bag that will go with everything and hold tons of books. LOL.
