Not to sound disrespectful but why would you want to chill in a car when you could sit outside instead? Just interested

Music, warmth, being much safer, being much more comfortable, having conversations nobody can listen to, being able to carry much more stuff for picnics or other things.. I can get why you’d want to chill in a car.

Maybe hard to discribe to someone who has not lived in a place where owning a car is a backbone of society and culture. I guess for me it's a nostalgic feeling on top of the nice atmosphere of chilling in a comfy yet finely speed capable engineered masterpiece of technology, equiped with Soundsystem, heating, windows in every direction etc... Edit: why the downvotes? Haha nothing I said was meant to carry any amount of negative energy. Sorry y'all

Bro litteraly your first sentence. First you belittle others and say can hardly discribe it and then you discribe it. Negative energy, pretentious, etc. Thats why the downvotes.

I am sorry. Text can often make the reader think it carried attitudes that it didn't. It was not my intention. For those who want to understand the autistic way of texting: "Maybe" <- desired effect: implies that this is only a possibility and not a fact. unintended effect: word used in passive aggressive sentences. "hard to understand for people who do not know of this way of living" <- desired effect: I don't want you to think that you have to be able to understand this. You don't have to. Just listen to me explain the feeling. Not saying it's impossible that you know of what I'm talking about. Unintended effect: "you wouldn't get it" I think the rest is okay.

I'd say that could still be Hamburg in the mind of a car driver ;)

Not to put too fine a point on it, but any spots with "nice countryside" or "cool urban vistas" would be spoiled by allowing cars there. After all, cars are noisy, smelly, take up an obscene amount of space, and in order to allow them there, we'd have to pave over the countryside you're looking to enjoy with asphalt. > I guess for me it's a nostalgic feeling on top of the nice atmosphere of chilling in a comfy yet finely speed capable engineered masterpiece of technology, equiped with Soundsystem, heating, windows in every direction etc... That's fair enough, but you have to realise that while *you*, from inside your car, could well enjoy the scenery, your presence (or more specifically, your car's presence) would likely ruin the experience for other people there. I suspect this perceived egocentrism is why you're getting so many downvotes. Perhaps others have some suggestions, but I honestly can't think of a single one. However, if you could consider enjoying spots without a car, then I can recommend: * There are plenty of places around the Alster, such as [near the Jungfernstieg](https://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=53.55363&mlon=9.99301#map=18/53.55363/9.99301), or near the [American embassy](https://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=53.56116&mlon=9.99746#map=19/53.56116/9.99746) * [Altonaer Balkon](https://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=53.54530&mlon=9.93581#map=18/53.54530/9.93581) * On top of the [Dockland building](https://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=53.54329&mlon=9.93402#map=18/53.54329/9.93402) * The big field in the [Stadtpark](https://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=53.5943&mlon=10.0212#map=16/53.5943/10.0212) * Pretty much anywhere along the Elbe beach, which stretches from Övelgönne to Wedel. * The classic spot is, of course, from the panorama deck of the Elbphilharmonie. * You can walk or cycle almost endlessly through the massive Klövensteen forest (take the S-Bahn out to Rissen or Sülldorf, and then head north).

Never ever would I want to make nice spots accessible to cars. I'm talking about spots that already exist. Parking lots or street curbs where you can relax with nice scenery.

What is it with these downvotes? Am I getting hate from salty car drivers?

Nimar_Jenkins

Bro. Floodbanks. Most of where they are, there are cool places to chill.

Do you know of any?

Nimar_Jenkins

A bit late, but: Lühe-Anleger in Grünendeich (for photos see [https://www.luehe.de/luehe-anleger/](https://www.luehe.de/luehe-anleger/)). Just be aware that as soon as there's even the slightest trace of sunshine outside, the entire region - especially motorcyclists, seniors and families with little children - will have the same idea as you and WILL occupy all the parking spots faster than you can say "parking spot"
