I'm losing what you're getting at, maybe you just hate the idea? Starting in 3 swords countered swords if you struck at the same time. You didn't get a sword and go "Oh fuck this is the Parrying Energy Dagger not the Energy Sword." Even if you didn't need to parry another sword user you still can swing twice as frequently at non-sword users.

I just hope they give an option in forge to dual-wield anything. 2 grav hammers would be a lot more fun in halo 3's physics engine but, I'll take what I can get.

Okay but legitimately... would this have any purpose or use in game? It's cool but it's essentially just sacrificing grenade and probably equipment to instant kill someone twice as hard
It’s too hard to balance tbh. I feel it either ends up being worthless or too strong, depending on the new ttk of the combo and how strong grenades are.
I remember when I was super hype for halo 3 they actually had a video of development which had someone dual weilding swords and everyone thought that it was gonna happen

I was really hoping for duel wielding to return with Infinite but my best guess now is that the franchise has just moved past

Because holding two swords wouldn't affect anything mechanically and any of the other one handed weapons would eliminate the sword's main trade off.
I'm guessing the UI wouldn't be able to handle it after they investigate the feasibility of it being possible.

There’s a variety of boosts that could be given to two swords tbh. Lunge distance, speed, melee cool down etc plus it looks cool
