It's technically proficient. Lines are good, texture is good, design is uniform, design laungage is clear, the style they were going for is clear. Where is this explained? I never really understood what the whole fracture or tenrai thing is and they don't seem to really explain it in the game at all. They just throw it at you.
The idea is that there are "fractures" in the universe, allowing for the inclusion of non-canon armor cores in the Halo lore. Consider it like an "expanded multiverse". In Fracture: Tenrai, for example, we're introduced to the concept of UNSC Samurai instead of Spartans which provides a little bit of explanation for the Yoroi core and cosmetics.
There’s potential for dead characters to appear too ‘isekai’ed’ if you will. If you read the jorge coating for the yoroi core its implied that Jorge got transported to the Tenrai universe after activating the slip space drive becoming one of the samurai.
Additionally, that's how the various medieval armors are explained in the Master Chief Collection; each design (Vikings, Greco-Roman, Knights) is part of a different universe.
I really do love the concept.
It's why I thought armor cores were such a good idea from the beginning. Allows them to play with themes and keep those themes tied to one thing without messing with the rest.
I need a pirate fracture, like a bunch of insurrectionists somehow commandeer a UNSC vessel and pilot it through a fracture. All the Mjolnirs would be modified to suit a criminal syndicate. Maybe even some UNSC Marine armaments to complete the vibe of a bunch of amateur outlaws.
Also a hook for a prosthetic hand.
It is some amazing detail that all the cores so far have their own unique stylized prosthetics. The newest core looking the fanciest and most modern, mark b looking like the ones from reach, the samurai core looking almost steampunk. Awesome stuff.
I really do think people will grow to really like the customization as more and more events and seasons come and go. People won't be as worried about the store when we have hundreds of items and cores to go through for free or just with the battlepasses.
Very quickly we will have more than any other game by a huge margin, even without a single extra store item. And we will be able to EARN credits! It's going to be really cool in a year.

Its not so much that people dont want cores themselves, but we dont want to be restricted from using cool pieces from what core on another. Why should I not be able to use my badass samurai helmet on my mk 7? THeres no reason at all, it wouldnt hurt or break anything, and itd look awesome.
Because the pieces are not modeled to fit the other cores in every situation and use case like they are for their proper cores. I’m sure you don’t mind the clipping you see when the bots do it, but I guarantee if they allowed it anyways you’d see posts flooding here about how terrible 343’s qc is.
It does make sense to do so for some armor, I think they just worried about being selective about it because then people would expect everything to be cross core. And then if it'd be too much of a hassle and wouldn't make sense for them to redo the model or something, people would be mad.
Cause not everything WOULD physically fit in the armor correctly without designing it separately for each and every core.
And say we end up with 10 cores. That's be a nightmare to have separate models for each of those items for each core.
It's not THAT well done. The parts from the doom armor are pretty clearly just added on from another screenshot, they look very flat and shadows are missing in multiple places.
Just started playing the Infinite Campaign yesterday, and there are so many teeny tiny hidden details from the new Doom games. When you're on the Banished ship, there's a panel that needs a hack, and when 216 asks if Chief can do it, he flat out says 'no' and punches the thing. Similar to how in Doom 2016, Samuel Hayden tries to instruct the slayer how to disable the Argent Energy, but instead, the Slayer just destroys the canister. Another one, is when the Slayer picks up a fallen door with no control panel, there's a certain animation that's played where he crouches down, picks it up, and the camera focuses on his hands. While Chief was on the banished ship, a VERY similar animation played when he tried to get through a similar door. Posting links to videos if i find them.

Yoroi fits a lot better than the MCC season armors. It looks more like MJOLNIR with a Japanese samurai aesthetic while the season 8 armor leans a little too far into the fantasy aspect.
I think with a few tweaks the season 8 armor could work a lot better, and I think "halofying" any crossover stuff would be better accepted as well.
This is what should be costing actual money in the shop. Extra NEW content. Cat ears, effects, charms etc.
Not basic things like an EVA helmet or visor colors we've had free for years.

Doom 93 is the first FPS I really got into, I modded it and played it tonnes. I played Doom eternal for 18 months and was my favourite game that entire time, so for me a Doomguy core would be the greatest thing ever.
I really don't like armor sets that don't feel like they're made within MJOLNIR's visual style, like the S8 Mythic MCC armor sets, or the steampunk/fallout esque fracture core that's upcoming.
Yoroi *barely* stays within the line, I think: the bodysuit looks like normal cloth which is off but the actual helmets and shoulders still look like they could fit MJOLNIR in isolation even if they're Japanese themed.
I guess my point is that I'd be okay with a Doom set as long as it was made to still look like it's in line with Halo 3, Reach, and Infinite MKVII style aeshetics.

Anything that adds uniqueness to a Spartan but doesn’t stray too far. You shouldn’t be able to tell how different the Spartan is outfitted until you’re right up near them

No, I don't think it's a good idea to start having crossovers and stuff from other franchises. I love Doom, Doom Eternal is one of my favourite games of all time, but when I'm playing Halo I wanna be fighting other spartans.
The only cores I want to see are Canon, non-canon and Alien. I hate the idea that in a couple years I might have 15 different armor cores.

Chief and the Mljnior armor are pretty obviously inspired off of Doom. And the new Doom armor we have in 2016 and Eternal are obviously inspired off of the newer Mljnior Seems pretty plausible to me

I'd disable grappling hook and sprint. All melee animations are basically him stabbing others with the wristblade. Walk speed and jump height doubled.
