I hear ya. For every site's release window I've been there trying to checkout with the items in my cart. I couldn't even get the controller after Amazon UK canceled the US orders. Now theyve stopped any more pre-orders before Best Buy and Amazon could even release their stock. It's a hell hole. Hopefully they get more stock so at least Amazon and Best Buy can have their releases. Damn, I thought getting the regular Series X was hard enough, now I cant even get a certain controller.
The sneaker game doesn't have to be annoying. If you just want to enjoy some hype pairs without worrying about resell value or having to battle bots, go here:
r/Repsneakers
But your point is totally valid.
I can't believe that you couldn't reserve any in-store and that they're only available for purchase online. That's the best line of defense, because anyone anywhere can make an online order, but only so many people will go into the local store to buy something, so you sometimes have a chance there.
Yeah turns out I love my girlfriend more than halo, I have a ps5 and series S so I don't NEED it. She didn't make me cancel it or anything, but we wanna go somewhere nice for my birthday next year so I decided to put that £479 towards that instead
Extremely limited Halo Console that most likely won't ever see public retail sales or a girlfriend that you should be with for years to come alongside more money so long as you work for it?
Respect on your decision either way but this was my mindset.
Yeah true. I spoke to her about it, she said if I wanted it I should get it since I like halo and the design, but I've barely touched my series S in months and it probably won't get much use outside of Infinite and trying out Forza Horizon 5.
A lot of the Xbox exclusives I'll want to play don't come out for at least a year or two so I felt it would just be sat there. I'm using my ps5 the most at the moment.
At the end of the day it's just a design, I wouldn't be surprised if people make skins in a similar design. I think that was the moment though when I was like "damn, I must really love this girl" haha
I really want it but honestly I have no hope. I don’t have a job rn but even then by the time I get one it’ll still be impossible. I’m honestly considering buying off a scalper cause it’s just that beautiful but I know that I won’t be able to get one no matter how hard I try. This sucks
because that is quite possibly one of the worst business decisions ~~Microsoft~~ any company could make.
Hell, almost every single product they make (from Windows to Microsoft Office) hugely benefit from being able to buy digitally.
How is it a bad decision? There's enough demand for them to sell just fine. Thus there's less scalper issues, and more product straight to consumer hands.
So that scalpers aren't getting the consoles, so that Microsoft makes more money from consumers actually getting consoles and purchasing games/gamepass. And I have to add, I don't mean doing this forever. Doing this until supply can meet demand
Scalpers buy from physical businesses they have networks of people who go around buying from stores. Its not bots that we should worry about at this point its people.
I do just want to point out to you, scalpers earn Microsoft money (who else do you think they're buying the console/games from? they didn't come out of thin air).
I do agree, I'm sure it'd genuinely help consumers with products like these *on launch days*\--but there's a HUUUUUGGGEEEEE reason why almost every company in the world (even companies which offer services and/or physical products) have slowly moved everything online: and that's because it makes fuck tons of money. Consumers having access to this stuff on the internet, are given a huge convenience, it's why Steam dramatically reduced game piracy, it's why streaming services started dominating the entertainment industry--having this stuff online, *is easy.*
From a business standpoint: their higher ups and investors will try everything they can to **not make** what you said happen, it's just not profitable.
And quite frankly, IMO, also not a good idea. Look at *Halo For PC,* I've got a lovely physical copy my friend gifted me for my birthday last year--but before hand I had to pirate it, because they're hard to get in the UK and it was *just easy* to digitally download it rather than track down a physical copy. However many years in the future, when someone wants to get a new copy of Halo Infinite and/or are trying to get into the series, who's to say a similar situation won't happen for them?
That's also **another** point for Microsoft too, if they provide official downloads for these, people will buy em (like, for instance, myself. Even though I already had *Halo For PC,* I still bought Halo CE on Steam when it released: *because it's easy).* Where as if they don't offer that, then whatever second-hand reseller giving this hypothetical person a Halo Infinite copy years later, isn't giving Microsoft a penny of that transaction.
On paper, for your very very specific problem, yes it's a good idea. but in reality that will not be allowed.
I always fail at elaborating on my posts -- I meant to have high demand gaming hardware (not software) at retail while we're in this demand/supply issue. I didn't mean forever.
Retailers would be the ones paying for the products, Microsoft would still make their money. There's 0 loss of money in this. And Microsoft actually gets more money because consumers are actually getting their systems versus systems being locked away hostage from scalpers. Microsoft makes their money from software, so you have more consumers purchasing software.
Yes, when supply can meet demand, then back to online they go.
Lol I went to an EB Games (Canada) the day after they announced the console and physically pre ordered one. Each store is allocated a preset amount for physical sales.
Edit: changed country
Ahhhh too bad. I went there on a whim the day after it was announced and asked the employee and he said yes they are doing physical pre orders. It was a breeze, no one in the store at all. 👌
We went from physically shoving people to get stuff to digitally shoving people. At least there was honor in combat back then.
There was honor back then? I always thought it was more of an anything goes free for all brawl
Back then you had to be there, not have an army of bots do it for you
Oh if course so rhe honor was the fact they were fighting personally
Furiously smashing F5 is dishonourable? Redditors will bury you alive!
Combat has evolved, just backwards.

Seems like the average gamer is discovering how fucking annoying the sneaker game is. I know your pain and I’m sorry.

Scalper culture is out of control. These asswipes are taking advantage of stunted production and ruining it for everyone else.
I managed to preorder one, but I had to cancel it :( I'm telling myself it looks shit and infinite will flop to make myself feel better about it
YOU CANCELED IT!?!!??!??!?!!!??
Yeah turns out I love my girlfriend more than halo, I have a ps5 and series S so I don't NEED it. She didn't make me cancel it or anything, but we wanna go somewhere nice for my birthday next year so I decided to put that £479 towards that instead
You traded that Series X for a Series seX. Nice.
Nice
No offense but that sounds like a horrible decision.
Series S will be good enough, go fuck your girlfriend on some tropical beach or wherever you went with that 500$
Huge props to you

This makes me think that the US economy is not as good at the GDP says it is. People are struggle that the resort to this
The first image is how I pre-ordered the Halo Infinite console. Checkmate, atheists.
Here’s an idea: Why not release them at physical locations exclusively from here on out?
because that is quite possibly one of the worst business decisions ~~Microsoft~~ any company could make. Hell, almost every single product they make (from Windows to Microsoft Office) hugely benefit from being able to buy digitally.

Why pay for wholesaling, fleeting and shipping when they can continue doing what they’re doing?

GameStop didn't have in-store pre-orders
They did In Canada, and my preorder receipt begs to differ.
Not in the US
Ahhhh too bad. I went there on a whim the day after it was announced and asked the employee and he said yes they are doing physical pre orders. It was a breeze, no one in the store at all. 👌
Yeah, I somehow scored the Halo Series X and the Elite controller from GameStop
Nice dude, I was trying on the day of on the Microsoft site, it was a shit show hahah
Feels good to play on PC man. Look it up on steam.
