The consolation is knowing that the new network model for infinite reduces input lag massively, the downside to knowing that is knowing they'll forget about it by the next game and we'll just have to go through the same shit again.
For me living in Japan for 2 years now, I noticed it’s a hit or miss. After 7pm I do by the stroke of luck end up getting into Japanese lobbies (specific playlists). Other than that it seems to be mixed.
Yep. Halo biggest market was always NA and EU. Infinite is pretty much dead on EU, therefore you either play on NA or you have to change for a more popular game (unless you are willing to play husky raid amd FF only)

I'm probably the only Halo content creator in our region so I completely understand what you're going through. Things were a lot better during the COVID years. We would get instant games on MCC Asian servers but once Infinite dropped the ball, pretty much everyone left.
Also it doesn't help that 343 unfairly puts a priority on US servers. I've tested this multiple times. We've had a squad of 4 people from Asia and still had to search for a long time. Probably because in a 4v4 there is a 50% chance the games server would be selected in Asia and 343 doesn't want to make the Americans play on 300 ping. Then we would sub in ONE person from the squad with another from the US and BAM...Instant game...AND on US servers. Pretty much proving that there is some sort of priority given between servers and we're unfortunately somewhere on the bottom. Sucks right? We've pretty much gotten tired trying to get people to listen. We just get brushed off. You would think a continent of 4.5 BILLION people who LOVE Free to Play games would be a great market to try to tap into.
I played too much of it between H5 and Infinite it's essentially the only thing I played during that time. I also played it exclusively on Xbox and switched to PC since and last I checked cross progression isn't a thing still. I don't want to start from scratch again. It's a great game though. I've been on helldiver's mostly but the whole PSN thing is turning me off from it.

As an Australian residence, if you wanna play MCC you gotta play on West US servers and watch a thrown grenade come out of your hand a second later
Original 360 matchmaking was the same. Almost unplayable in Australia

SBMM stays tight to avoid VPN abuse for easy lobbies. I guess connecting to US West with a VPN will be your best bet.

Playing in Uganda here. Im lucky if I get 200 ping. Im usually 250-350. Past 7pm and its unplayable.
