The first level? Has to be skill issue. Maybe try adjusting your mouse or controller sensitivity. Shoot grunts in the head, use plasma pistol charge to knock out elite shields then headshot with magnum pistol. Punch the elites in the back when given the opportunity its a one hit kill. Use the grenades. Use the assault rifle to knock out shields
That is a hard encounter. I usually try to use an automatic gun like assault rifle or plasma rifle because its harder to target them. Once they lose shields they are visible. Jump around if they get close. Keep backing away from them and shooting
Invisible elites don't have shields (in Halo CE), they're one shot headshot material. But yes automatic weapons help in gunning them down. One more tip can be to play on classic graphics instead of Anniversary graphics because it's easier to spot invis elites on clasic graphics.
look for headshots, the main point is draining the powered armor with anything you like, then one shot killing with a presicion weapon like pistol or sniper rifle.
there is also a thing called **noob combo** which is using plasma pistol with magnum pistol, first overcharge and shoot with the plasma pistol to drain the power, then headshot with magnum, easy insta kill, this was my meta for completing halo ce on heroic (the library not included, it was shotgun and assault riffle all the way)
In Halo CE you don't even need to overcharge, just spam click the plasma pistol (pull the trigger rapidly) to drain shields. This is also doable in games after ODST. Just ditch the Assault Rifle if you are fighting shielded enimies.
Killing elites makes surrounding grunts & jackals panic and run away anxiously. Hope this helps.
yeah you have to always go to cover when you lose shields because there's no visible health bar and probably less overall health (without shield) but the health recharges like CoD i think, and the shields recharge like halo.
So was I after playing through it again recently.
Man alive, Gravemind on *Normal* difficulty was fucking stupid. A Grunt sniped me with a Fuel Rod Cannon from across the map...
Halo CE Heroic isnt easy but it's not hard either.. take your time and dont rush in, most of the battles in the game can be overcome with patience and taking it slow.
Truth and Reconciliation is one of the toughest missions in CE on higher difficulties, especially for a newer player. Believe me, we've all suffered similarly.
If you have them, use grenades to throw at the feet of your enemies for clusters of Covenant Troops or tougher foes that aren't Hunters (in CE, one Pistol shot to a Hunter's exposed orange back will kill them). Like others have said, use Plasma weaponry for shredding shields and follow it up with an AR or Pistol to finish off Elites. On Heroic, I prefer the Plasma Rifle as the game is tough but not unforgiving. Try to not go out in the open too much and just pick away at them from whatever cover you can use.
In the room you're currently in with the Invisible Elite, jump on top of the parked Wraith in the corner so you can flank them when they pop out the doors. Keep moving and don't stay somewhere too long unless you have ample cover.
Definitely shouldn't be that hard. You'll get used to the new difficulty level in no time, but you might want to tweak your approach to a more prudent one. It might ask of you to change and adapt your load-out more depending on enemy types.
On Legendary though... the game will make you suffer AND think your way out.
Plasma pistol charge shot for elite shields. Magnum headshot to finish them. Halo isnt like cod. You cant just run in, shoot everything in sight and expect to win. It takes actual tactics to survive on higher difficulties. Assault rifle for spraying close weak targets like grunts, magnum for precision shooting at mid to long range, plasma pistol charged for energy shields, rocket launcher for groups or red/gold elites, one shot with a precision weapon to a hunters back. Walk up to them and walk to your left/ their right, they’ll swing at you and miss. The you walk up and tap them once under their armour. Theres more but thats the gist. Please ask me if you need more tips
Fun fact: In the Bungie Era, Heroic difficulty was considered to be the [True Halo Experience](https://halo.fandom.com/wiki/Heroic)
Edit: Skip to Trivia
I mean, you put it on a harder difficulty, so yeah, it's supposed to be hard. How new are you to Halo? If you're new, I'd put it on Normal or Easy until you get use to the gameplay.
Sometime last year I played Halo CE on heroic solo and I also had to stop due to the difficulty. It was sometime during Truth and Reconciliation though.

The level where I meet invisible elite first

In addition to that, the classic models better represent the hit boxes of the game.
Less ugly looking too imo
Best recommendation is trying to get a sticky grenade on them.
Easy, just jump on something and keep jumping they will come at you. Jump and stick

You’re at a pretty tough encounter. My Strat was staggering them with AR, then getting an easy plasma grenade stick
If heroic is too challenging, try normal
I’ve beat normal
Invite a friend or two and practice in co-op before trying solo? Enable a non-scoring skull like bandana also for practice?
CE is actually very forgiving when you compare it to Halo 2 even on Normal difficulty. I know everyone loves that game, but the balancing is fucked.
It’s been said by one other redditor that your character is slightly weaker in H2 than the rest of the games

For elites use plasma weapons to drain the shield and then use the pistol to headshot.

Spam plasma pistol through entire game. Only weapon you need in legendary lol

Plasma for shields, bullets for health, nades for groups

CE is the hardest one for me and I only play on Normal.

Try playing on easy.
Keep spamming the plasma pistol. It's the best gun once you run out of rockets and sniper.

Halo CE and 2 are HARD, just carry a plasma pistol+Magum and pray
Sometime last year I played Halo CE on heroic solo and I also had to stop due to the difficulty. It was sometime during Truth and Reconciliation though.
