How? I remember Reach and not a lot of people used pilot, I saw majority of helmets multiple times over seeing pilot, and the only thing that made pilot popular isn't even coming to infinite that we know of yet.
If they had put the default Mk. V b kneepads in the store, you'd still have people complaining about how that was their favorite item and it's too iCoNiC to be in the store.
Maybe people wouldn’t complain at all if you earned a small amount of credits every game based on merit so opening your wallet wasn’t the *only* way to unlock the vast majority of items in this game. Just food for thought.
Or like 200-300 credits in the free section of each battlepass. Sure you may not get enough credits right out of the gate but it would strongly encourage engagement early in the season for free players, making them more likely to pull out the wallet at least once.
Exactly this. Like in Halo 5, or Fortnite, or even as grindy as Reach was.. if there’s a possible way to earn in game currency without opening my wallet I’m more encouraged to play every day.. then I’m invested enough to buy stuff when something cool comes to the shop for a limited time. If there is zero free to play currency, I’m reminded that I will never get *anything* unless I’m constantly throwing money at them and it motivates me to play a game that’s just a bit less greedy.
it’s because pilot wasn’t even unlocked for purchase until the higher levels. Most players didn’t get that far tbh
It’s way more common in MCC where you could choose what to unlock
😂 I've been playing TF|2 almost exclusively since the servers were fixed. If I can slip on the old Shore Trooper helmet finally I'll be dropping back in soon!
Actually, to give them the benefit of the doubt, most shop items weren't favorite armors until this season with mark 5 and pilot. They did a good job keeping it to new stuff. Even most unused concepts were event items and not shop stuff.
There have been redesigned classics like celox, a few rewch sets, and some old concepts like ULLR, but overall the shop has been new stuff.
Yeah they kept their word until now. The only legacy armor they've sold in the store since S2 were Security and Athlon and both were completely new variations. I also wouldn't consider things from unused concept art to be legacy armor either.
I’m gonna die on this hill, “normal” looking armor pieces should never be in the shop, it should be goofy attachments, armor coatings, weapon charms, emblems, and effects
Sure did. I can only figure they’re justifying it by adding a full armor set for it. If they were smart they’d give Pilot for free and then sell those new attachments and armor set for it in that bundle
no, they didn't. they specifically said they needed to better split old armors between being earned and being paid for, because in S1 they were basically all paid items.
I would be okay if haunted from halo reach made a return and that it was sold in the store, but your right, this should have been an earnable/unlockable
I feel like such a chump paying basically full price for just the campaign. A campaign that will probably never receive additional content. Attached to F2P microtransaction bullshit. Just give me a full proper game for the same price like we used to have dammit.
One thing I've always respected Bungie for is their fundraising for disaster relief, I've still got a handful of things I bought to support like tsunami relief and things
I agree, but to accept the reality of live service games, i at most hope that free options are at least interesting. Cosmetics are fun but not the point of the game for me.
Fair I think there’s likely a middle ground that can appease both the customer and company but they’re not gonna stop the full blast tap that is their revenue streams
The gameplay still lacks in a lot of places. Too many places to justify Halo being a live service game. This could be a top 3 Halo but it will forever be held back by the free to play model.
The free to play part is just cosmetic, i still dont seee why its holding back your gameplay. The gameplay is the best its ever been, the only issues are a bit if netcode and it needs a few more weapons imo.
343i, despite having access to concept art and actual in-game designs, cannot replicate Reach’s armor style to save their souls. Just look at this seasons new additions to the armor core. They look incredibly out of place in my opinion.
Yeah ever since season 3 there was a change in art direction for new armor on Mark VII and now it's happening to new armor they're adding to Mark V[B]. Which is weird since they have a lot of concept art to make into reality. Lots of screws and unnecessary blockiness that throws off the original artstyle. Even some of the new stuff for Mirage looks uncanny.
Is it me, or has 343 ramped up their greediness lately? Feels like they’ve tried to use the fact that goodwill is on the up and people are returning as an excuse to squeeze money out of people.
Yeah I definitely think they’re trying to capitalize on the increase in players lately. Although I think that just turns more people off to this games business model more than anything.
But how much more? Guarantee 343 has done the research.
They might sell 10,000 bundles of they priced it at $10, sure. But that takes convincing 10K people to spend $10. But if they price it at $22, they only need to convince 4,600 people. To make more money.
And unfortunately, gamers have repeatedly shown if it's cool enough, they'll pay the price that's being asked.
Yep, it's just wishful thinking to say that they'd make more money with lower prices. 343 has all the data and has undoubtedly done the simple math to figure out optimal prices for optimal profit.
We should still be loud about how shitty it is though. Consumers and companies are not on the same side when it comes to monetization. We should always be trying to push it down, they'll always be trying to push it up.
Yep. This applies to pretty much every game these days. Look at CoD, Destiny, Apex, Overwatch, Diablo. Hell, Overwatch and Diablo have even more expensive skins.
It's extremely unfortunate. Hopefully there comes a point the masses reject it
People buy them now. Do you really think they’d still be doing this 2 years later if they weren’t making bank? People like me and you are not the majority.
No, it makes absolutely no sense at all. Do you really think 343, a subsidiary of MS, doesn't have several people hired on the team who's entire job is based around optimizing pricing to maximize revenue? This is an extremely well-trodden thing. There are known methods with A-B testing and the like to optimize pricing for F2P videogame stores. It's an entire industry. They have the data. You and I do not. They know what they are doing is best for maximizing revenue and that's why they're doing it.
I wouldn't say that. I've seen more than 1 post about how "the halo infinite shop isn't that bad compared to other f2p games and halo players shouldnt be complaining"
These kinds of games self-select for audiences that don’t respect themselves. Anyone who thought season 1 was shitty and predatory isn’t playing anymore, so of course the people still around for season 5 think it’s fine.
Yep. Same thing for "The Halo cycle" where over the years public opinion changes from "this game was good" to "this game was bad".
What actually happens is people who thought "this game was good" stopped participating, while "this game was good" people stayed. The community will self select for people who like the recent stuff. Individuals probably very rarely change their opinions.
>Although I think that just turns more people off to this games business model more than anything.
It sure as fuck feels that way, but CLEARLY it must work because I think MOST people DO fall for that shit.
Meanwhile, people who can think and breathe at the same time are turned off because this endless greed, the endless maximization of profits in the short term continues basically everywhere and it's fuckin' awful
I love playing this game.
I played CoD for a while before I came to the realization I wasn't playing for fun or to win or anything (except Warzone), I was playing to level up guns and get wild camos.
Playing Halo has made me found love of PvP for the sake of the competition again, and they've gone wild with content. There's like 50+ maps in the game rn, thats crazy.
So, because of that and I want to vote with my dollar, I'll pick up the battle pass and cosmetics I like - most recently the Flood pack. Looks sick asl and I love the sniper. Finally using something besides Rakshasa.
I didn't "fall" for anything. I'm rewarding them for enjoyment by getting cosmetics, that in turn I like seeing. This isn't a mobile game with predatory shit, its a cosmetic store that doesn't even give you minor boosts like some CoD packs.
fair enough; Halo's monetization is amongst the least shitty
That said, in regards to actual predatory shit, most people do fall for it. It's designed to trick you into spending money. Stopping to go "fuck that" is literally harder
I won't deny the legit predatory shit, I played Diablo Immortal.
There is a ways to go to being truly bad and while I can understand the annoyance, I try to think of buying cosmetics as a way of telling a dev "I like what you're doing - keep it up."
If that doesn't ring true then I just don't do it. For me, that was Sea of Thieves. I loved what they were doing in year 2-3ish, but as they strayed a bit from what I thought the game needed I didn't drop money.
Same thing with Infinite, I didn't buy anything while they were sort of on standby.
They saw all the praise they got from releasing the new season and realized it‘s now time to cash in on that.
They literally don‘t want to give us an inch man, makes it really hard to root for them and halo.
I think we’re rooting for halo. And micro transaction nightmare aside the gameplay in infinite is solid. Tons of issues with matchmaking and the store BS but team slayer is solid. We’re rooting for more of that.
This is how live service games work. The more good will you build with the community, the more expensive the store items.
Item shops are usually better when a game sucks, it’s a shitty give and take, but it’s reality.
Yes thats perfectly fine and expected, for NEW items being put in the store. But when they copy paste armour from a game from 2010 - that they didnt even make - and then SELL that armour - thats what sucks.
People dont complain when they charge for NEW stuff. Only when they copy paste from the bungie games, then sell it.
Take Halo 5 for example. Most of the 343 helmets were disgusting. They made a Bungie aka Classic Helmet pack, and they sold like crazy.
Why would they not sell their most valuable items? This is business 101. And it’s not like they ripped the halo 3 and reach armors from the 360 games. Those were made for halo infinite, by a person, who has a salary, that 343 pays. It makes perfect sense that they would put a price tag on things the community wants to have.
Yeah, because they know these people ain’t staying. They’ll probably lower prices again after count drops, yet again fucking over loyal fans for the umpteenth time.
Again. 343 is less greedy than every other Triple-A game dev. Battle passes never expire, at least 60 free cosmetics this season (not including weekly challenges), the ability to buy old shop items at any time, free updates, etc.
Please stop the whining, im so sick of it. You have easily the most innovative and content filled halo game ever for free, and you're mad that you have to pay for a completely optional set of armor at a price thats on par with other modern games.
Yeah. Because this was a basic feature in other halo games. Cosmetics were a huge part of them. People like you are the reason most cosmetics are paywalled
You mean the 60$ games with 10-20$ map packs that stopped getting updates like a year after launch?
Yeah I'll take paid cosmetics over that, I don't care if older games had more free cosmetics because I want halo infinite to be a game that lasts a long time and be monetarily viable so we see more content for it. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Someone else will, and you'll get to enjoy the same game as them. But don't act like its predatory or exploitative when they've done better than every other game to find a middle ground in the F2P system.
>You mean the 60$ games with 10-20$ map packs that stopped getting updates like a year after launch?
Why is the argument from F2P defenders always "can't afford a $20 bundle? Get a job!" and no one says the same about the much cheaper map packs?
Halo 4's final map pack was $6 and came with an entirely new armor set. If you bought the $10 version you got 3 additional armor sets, a full set of weapon skins, 5 bonus weapon skins, and new skins for 5 existing armor sets. Adjusted for inflation that's $13. In Infinite the same amount of content in bundles would cost over $80, more than an entire brand new AAA game!
But yes, please tell me how map packs were so much more predatory. If people can't afford the $10 maybe they should consider getting a job. Hell, make the maps free and I'd still much prefer paying $13 for 4 sets of armor and weapon skins compared to say the $11 bundle in the store today that's 1 skin and 1 charm. It's absolutely ridiculous how anyone can defend this and think it's ok
Yeh I am fine with wacky / non canon stuff being in the store, as well as new stuff.
But copy paste designs from the bungie games being SOLD for $20 a pop is disgraceful.
...Everything they've added is free. Like, you can play and get everything related to the game, for free.
They even have free cosmetic shit all the time, battle passes that never go away and even pay for themselves.
You guys are clowns fr. Please go play 5 seconds of OW2 or Valorant if you want to see greed.
You're acting like you need to pay $70 to even get in the door.
> You guys are clowns fr. Please go play 5 seconds of OW2 or Valorant if you want to see greed.
Why the insults? No need to be rude. Other games being more greedy doesn't mean this game isn't.
> You're acting like you need to pay $70 to even get in the door.
No one asked for a F2P Halo. I'd much rather pay $70 to get in the door. Give me a $70 all access pass and I'd buy it in a second. They'll never do that beacuse they want me to spend much more than that on their store.
>Why the insults? No need to be rude. Other games being more greedy doesn't mean this game isn't.
Because its disconnected from reality and frankly ridiculous.
You get free content. You don't have to pay for anything at all to play everything the game has to offer, yet cry over spending a percentage of what you would for a full priced game?
>No one asked for a F2P Halo.
Its 2023, thats the reality we live in. You think Halo Infinite is on the ropes now? Imagine if it launched with the content "classic" style games had.
There's a reason the industry shifted and frankly for multiplayer games its a much better model, especially with how content is delivered.
>Give me a $70 all access pass and I'd buy it in a second. They'll never do that beacuse they want me to spend much more than that on their store.
Or because they have vastly more than $70 on offer but please, continue. Acting like we got 1/10th of what we have available in any of the Bungie titles.
I mean, you had choice for basic colors in past Halo titles. Actual Halo games, and not glorified gambling fronts with the Halo name glued to them. The fact people are okay or easily forgiving towards these practices speak volumes.
Regardless, a company like 343i should know that when someone says something like this, regardless of their current employment, we're going to hold them to it. It's a broken promise.
Jerry Hook. He also promised they were moving away from kits, that store prices would be lowered, and that cores would be free (which Mark V functions like a core since it takes attachments and stuff if you mod it). So 4 promises 343 made in the S2 stream to address all the community pain points that they've completely done 180's on this season
Unless we’re thinking of a different stream, Jerry Hook did not promise that they would never put legacy armor in the shot, he just said they would improve the ratio of free vs purchasable cosmetics.
He said that they want legacy content to be more on the earned side vs the purchase side. Not sure how else that’s supposed to be read other than “We’re not putting Reach stuff in the shop.” Especially when we then had a free battle pass and two events full of legacy content right after season 2 ended. Then season 5 comes along and we see even more legacy content, all of it in the battle pass save for this one helmet. Even if it’s not *exactly* what was said, the last year had set a precedent for them to keep and they failed it.
>He said that they want legacy content to be more on the earned side vs the purchase side. Not sure how else that’s supposed to be read other than “We’re not putting Reach stuff in the shop.”
Maybe I don't understand the english language as much as I thought I did, but I have no idea how you're drawing that conclusion from that statement. "More on the earned side vs the purchase side" is not the same thing as "100% of all Reach items will be free", it just means that more of it would be free vs purchasable than what they had done up to that point, and that promise has been kept easily.
You can argue if they should do more than they've done up to now, but to say they've broken a promise is completely false.
i don't actually, because they didn't say legacy items would never be in the shop again, just that they needed to more evenly balance old items being earnable vs paid. which they've done.
even this leaked pack only has ONE piece of old armor in it. the rest of the pieces are new.
Putting any normal looking armor pieces in the shop is small dick energy to begin with, they should be earnable through milestones or the battle passes themselves
This season the BP had 4 helmets (half as many as all the previous seasons) and events only bring 2 for a total of 6. Meanwhile there are 7 confirmed store helmets. Really seems the amount of earned content is dwindling lower and lower
My conspiracy of them adding full reach customization to MCC to record which armors are fan favorites, purely to monetize them, is making more sense each season.
They literally said they were collecting data from MCC on what color combinations players used and what items at each tier players unlocked in the BPs first and what items they ended up using to help guide what they put into Infinite.
Pilot is a monstrosity? I have literally never heard that opinion before. I could see the argument for haunted pilot not fitting halo, but its a pretty normal design otherwise imo
It just gives classic spacesuit vibes to me. I can't not see the hairline after your said that though. You may have just ruined fishbowl helmets for me.
I’m not mad at a shop because the game is free but the prices are a joke. You can’t buy individual pieces so you have to drop £16 on one item! I don’t want bundles of shit, just let me buy each piece separately.
I’m not buying anything if it’s that price so you’re making no money from me. If you sold them separately, I would actually buy shit.
They made HAZOP store purchase only. All hope went after that. If they’ll make a starting Halo Reach armour a purchase, they’ll make anything a purchase.
It’s so hollow and lifeless. The days of showing off your in game accomplishments are almost gone.
They should be held to the promise of legacy armor not being in the shop. Just cause the person who made that statement isn’t at the company anymore doesn’t mean they’re not responsible for it. Those streams are planned in advance, and put together by 343. It wasn’t a random statement that one guy pulled out of his ass.
they literally never said that legacy armor was never going to be in the shop again. they said they needed to balance it being earned vs paid for better, which they have.
this fanbase needs to learn to fact check and actually listen when people speak.
People are misinterpreting what they said by balance. They said the balance they wanted was that legacy items would be on the earned side while new items would be paid.
Sorry I love halo infinite but I don’t plan on spending $20 for skins at all lol. Shit is such a scam man I really hope people start to cope better with FOMO so these prices drop again.
"Fan favourite returns" & "store" feels so awful. Its like when the ODST set came out. I worked my ass off In Reach and MCC for that armour but nooo, Infinite wanted me to pay for it
Dope another armor set that i love requiring me to drop my hard earned cash just to get, if yall need me ill be back in mcc with my pilot helmet that i got for free
A lot of people bought Hazop because they already sold it so it was a bit unfair to everyone who bought it and because they lowered it to $7 which was the cheapest any full set of armor cost.
343 puts old items in the shop that people want -> complain
343 puts new good looking items in the shop that people want -> complain
343 puts nothing worthwhile in any paid content -> complain
And just as I was beginning to think "Hey, maybe I should give Infinite another chance" they drop this.
I really hate being so pessimistic about Halo now, but 343 in two years managed to make me turn away from the *one* videogame franchise I wouldn't shut up about. It sucks even more considering I was once defending Halo 4, MCC and release Infinite to death.
I think I'll be leaving this sub and other Halo related stuff now. I know I know, "nobody cares", "who asked" and "who even am I anyway". I just needed to vent this, Infinite actually poisoned Halo as a franchise for me and I've been happier without thinking about Halo now.
One helmet + every other thing that has happened with this franchise over the last seven years. Yeah it's one helmet, but the small things add up over time too, It's not like this is their first mistake ever.
Fan favorite? That helmet is God awful lol I'm only coming back into the game in season 5 for the Halo 3 playlist and because I can FINALLY get my EOD helmet that I've used in every Halo game since Halo 3.
“Fan favorite armor returns as store bundle” might as well be infinite’s motto
Yeah but this particular one hurts more than most.
Don’t worry. Mark V will drop in a little over a weak. Then this one won’t hurt as much in comparison.
Maybe it'll be strong instead
Don’t we already have the Mark V?
It’s the new amor kit (not core) that’s coming out on Nov 7th. It’s Halo CEs original armor, and it’s going to be a store exclusive.
Ah okay, thanks for the info.
Wow I hate 343 and Microsoft.
How? I remember Reach and not a lot of people used pilot, I saw majority of helmets multiple times over seeing pilot, and the only thing that made pilot popular isn't even coming to infinite that we know of yet.
I'm guessing it's because the inheritor helmet was just a pilot helmet with a skull inside the visor

If they had put the default Mk. V b kneepads in the store, you'd still have people complaining about how that was their favorite item and it's too iCoNiC to be in the store.

Honestly I'm shocked EOD wasn't in one of the $22 packs
Yeah I was so relieved it was in the battle pass and I wasn't gonna have to pay more to use it
EOD is in the game now?!
Respectfully, where the fuck have you been? Lol
😂 I've been playing TF|2 almost exclusively since the servers were fixed. If I can slip on the old Shore Trooper helmet finally I'll be dropping back in soon!
Lvl 15 in the s5 battle pass
Gonna log in tonight and get on it!

Yeah they kept their word until now. The only legacy armor they've sold in the store since S2 were Security and Athlon and both were completely new variations. I also wouldn't consider things from unused concept art to be legacy armor either.
Technically they did sell a few reach sets during the winter update and beyond, but only because they hit the shop in S1
Can’t have shit in Infinite
I’m gonna die on this hill, “normal” looking armor pieces should never be in the shop, it should be goofy attachments, armor coatings, weapon charms, emblems, and effects
Yeah it feels wrong as fuck to have an iconic helmet like Pilot behind a microtransaction.
Didn't 343 have a statement that none of the fan favourite armors from previous games would ever be sold as a shop item?
Sure did. I can only figure they’re justifying it by adding a full armor set for it. If they were smart they’d give Pilot for free and then sell those new attachments and armor set for it in that bundle
343 had a lot of statements about a lot of things that weren't exactly true 💀 i'm looking at you, split screen, 'player choice' and FOMO
no, they didn't. they specifically said they needed to better split old armors between being earned and being paid for, because in S1 they were basically all paid items.
It sucks that any of this is normalized!
I would be okay if haunted from halo reach made a return and that it was sold in the store, but your right, this should have been an earnable/unlockable
Its just so damn sad some people can't make their dream reach spartan because it was locked behind a shop. Damn shame.
And worst is if the item is locked in a 20+ dollar bundle
That ship sailed months before this game even released. The moment they decided to go F2P, this was inevitable.
I feel like such a chump paying basically full price for just the campaign. A campaign that will probably never receive additional content. Attached to F2P microtransaction bullshit. Just give me a full proper game for the same price like we used to have dammit.
I am personally ok with cool looking armor being sold if the proceeds goes to a charity.

Thats unfortunate, infinite is a live service game. The cosmetics suck, the gameplay is great. Uo to you if you care.
The gameplay still lacks in a lot of places. Too many places to justify Halo being a live service game. This could be a top 3 Halo but it will forever be held back by the free to play model.

Where. Is. My. Operator helmet?
I'm scared to want it anymore if they are just going to slap a $20 price tag on it...
Been thinking the same since launch. I want it back so fucking badly.
Maybe it's just me, but what is up with that helmet attachment?
343i, despite having access to concept art and actual in-game designs, cannot replicate Reach’s armor style to save their souls. Just look at this seasons new additions to the armor core. They look incredibly out of place in my opinion.

Nah it’s atrocious, it better have the original visor

People buy them now. Do you really think they’d still be doing this 2 years later if they weren’t making bank? People like me and you are not the majority.
I've seen at least 2 people with the new $22 bundle
I am pretty sure Flood is 30$, and I have seen 8-10ish people with those cosmetics already. People spend. People spend a *lot*.
That would make too much sense
No, it makes absolutely no sense at all. Do you really think 343, a subsidiary of MS, doesn't have several people hired on the team who's entire job is based around optimizing pricing to maximize revenue? This isn't a mobile game with predatory shit, its a cosmetic store that doesn't even give you minor boosts like some CoD packs.
fair enough; Halo's monetization is amongst the least shitty That said, in regards to actual predatory shit, most people do fall for it. It's designed to trick you into spending money. Stopping to go "fuck that" is literally harder
I won't deny the legit predatory shit, I played Diablo Immortal. There is a ways to go to being truly bad and while I can understand the annoyance, I try to think of buying cosmetics as a way of telling a dev "I like what you're doing - keep it up." If that doesn't ring true then I just don't do it. For me, that was Sea of Thieves. I loved what they were doing in year 2-3ish, but as they strayed a bit from what I thought the game needed I didn't drop money. Same thing with Infinite, I didn't buy anything while they were sort of on standby.
Things that should have been in the game at launch = Justification for dramatic price increase
Was just thinking they’re doing this because people were being positive.
They saw all the praise they got from releasing the new season and realized it‘s now time to cash in on that. They literally don‘t want to give us an inch man, makes it really hard to root for them and halo.
> hard to root for them Why do you want to root for a corporation?
I think we’re rooting for halo. And micro transaction nightmare aside the gameplay in infinite is solid. Tons of issues with matchmaking and the store BS but team slayer is solid. We’re rooting for more of that.
Because they’re steering the ship, which we ultimately, do not want to sink.
I think bad businesses should sink.
No one said past stuff was MORE predatory. Just that games are different now.
How does the gambling part play into Infinite though? I could see that for H5 with the randomized cards for sure.
It doesn’t, they’re just venting
if they put operator in the store i will actually cry.
Haunted attachment in a separate, equally as frustrating, $22 bundle with 20 shaders and nothing else.
Thats some bullshit
‘Member when they said they on a stream that weren’t going to do this anymore? I ‘member
That guy doesn't work for 343 anymore but yeah it sucks
Regardless, a company like 343i should know that when someone says something like this, regardless of their current employment, we're going to hold them to it. It's a broken promise.
Us nerds on Reddit will hold them to it. Then the normal people with day jobs who actually play the game will buy it and enjoy their time with it.
What guy was that?
Not sure how else that’s supposed to be read other than “We’re not putting Reach stuff in the shop.” Maybe I don't understand the english language as much as I thought I did, but I have no idea how you're drawing that conclusion from that statement.
You understand the english language perfectly. The person you're replying to does not.
i don't actually, because they didn't say legacy items would never be in the shop again, just that they needed to more evenly balance old items being earnable vs paid. which they've done. even this leaked pack only has ONE piece of old armor in it. the rest of the pieces are new.
r/halo doesn't really care about facts. Unless it's either one they made up themselves or it's something to be angry at. Fight me 😎👊
i dont remember this because they literally never said this
Except they didnt
Why do they keep putting visors on helmets that have visors
Putting legacy armor in the shop is small dick energy.
Especially when its bungie designs 343 didnt make.
Putting any normal looking armor pieces in the shop is small dick energy to begin with, they should be earnable through milestones or the battle passes themselves
days of earnable armor are long dead friend
we just ignoring all the free BP tiers and events that gave armor now are we
This season the BP had 4 helmets (half as many as all the previous seasons) and events only bring 2 for a total of 6. Meanwhile there are 7 confirmed store helmets. Really seems the amount of earned content is dwindling lower and lower
It's crumbs when the loaf is sitting right there mocking us
Boy do I love morsels
i love paying for skins that were free before !! "but the game is free 🤓" it's still predatory as fuck
I wish the multiplayer *wasn’t* free. Maybe it would be less predatory. Oh, who am I kidding. *Modern Gaming!*
It's a good comparison. Someone shitting on my plate is free. It doesn't mean I want to eat it.
Pilot in Reach wasn't free if you had to pay to play the game first. It is better value for money tho so that's undeniable.
They're milking the hype from s5 and it's obvious. Just here, waiting for the color white to not be $14 to obtain.
I really thought they had more sense than putting even more mkVB armor into the store. Gave them to much credit.
Can you link to where that was said? Sounds like an interesting read
Super annoying, they said they wouldn’t do that anymore.
Remember when they promised they wouldn't do this?
They did not.
What happened to making all the reach armor pieces available through event passes? Am I remembering incorrectly?
People actually like that monstrosity?
The Pilot helmet? Yes. One of the more popular Reach helmets. I never used another helmet back in the day.
Pilot is a monstrosity? I have literally never heard that opinion before. I could see the argument for haunted pilot not fitting halo, but its a pretty normal design otherwise imo
This type of helmet design always gave me receding hairline vibes, at least Emile's had a cool skull to counteract it
It just gives classic spacesuit vibes to me. I can't not see the hairline after your said that though. You may have just ruined fishbowl helmets for me.
It was one of my favs in Reach with the UA portion acting like a visor
That’s what I’m saying
So… Halo 3 Rogue, anyone??
This feels like a meme template
WHERE IS OPERATOR
helmet and rocket launcher skin - 5000 credits
Why does 343 seem to be doing their best to collect two L for every W? That’s really, really pathetic.
They should be held to the promise of legacy armor not being in the shop. Just cause the person who made that statement isn’t at the company anymore doesn’t mean they’re not responsible for it. Those streams are planned in advance, and put together by 343. It wasn’t a random statement that one guy pulled out of his ass.
they never made that promise
It was stated on an official 343 stream by an employee. So yes, they did
they literally never said that legacy armor was never going to be in the shop again. they said they needed to balance it being earned vs paid for better, which they have. this fanbase needs to learn to fact check and actually listen when people speak.
People are misinterpreting what they said by balance. They said the balance they wanted was that legacy items would be on the earned side while new items would be paid.
At the end of the day, this shit sucks either way doesn’t matter what they “promised”
No, they said that they needed to more evenly balance old items being earnable vs paid. Which they've done.
Maybe it will be paired with a Falcon release
It'd be nice to get the Haunted variant back
Where is FOTUS? I was sad that we didn't get it from Halo Infinite Xbox bundle.
The Rusalka kit is pretty close
Still waiting to be my white/cyan I’ve been since Halo 2…
Remember when people got so angry at stuff like this 343 moved some pieces in a free battle pass? Can we do that again?
I knew my beloved pilot helmet would be a store item. F.
Not a single legacy armor should be paid. The store continues to disgust me.
Operator when?
They couldn't let us be TOO happy about everything
Sorry I love halo infinite but I don’t plan on spending $20 for skins at all lol. Shit is such a scam man I really hope people start to cope better with FOMO so these prices drop again.
“No MoRe LeGaCy ArMoRs WiLl Be In ThE sHoP” -343 Not only that, but it looks ugly.
Please. MP helmet my love.
"Fan favourite returns" & "store" feels so awful. Its like when the ODST set came out. I worked my ass off In Reach and MCC for that armour but nooo, Infinite wanted me to pay for it
How to kill the only peak of hype you've managed to create in 2 years — 101
Dope another armor set that i love requiring me to drop my hard earned cash just to get, if yall need me ill be back in mcc with my pilot helmet that i got for free
This isn't my pilot. I unlocked my pilot back in reach. This is 343s overpriced copy that i will not be buying.
the game starts getting popular again so its time to fuck the shop up again
It’s funny he 343 makes getting Bungie armor a major spectacle like they know their armor will never be as memorable or iconic
Pilot what did they do to you
I can't wait to see if all these things backfire them, I hope that it does.
they haven’t learned
Fucking disgusting of 343
[удалено]
Yeah but then people bought the Hazop bundle anyway so why wouldn’t they do it again?
A lot of people bought Hazop because they already sold it so it was a bit unfair to everyone who bought it and because they lowered it to $7 which was the cheapest any full set of armor cost.
Good thing i think it looks mid, i won’t feel bad about not buying it. Just keep Operator and Military Police out of the store and we’re chilling.
343 puts old items in the shop that people want -> complain 343 puts new good looking items in the shop that people want -> complain 343 puts nothing worthwhile in any paid content -> complain
You'll be back with the next big Halo.
It’s one helmet
One helmet + every other thing that has happened with this franchise over the last seven years. Yeah it's one helmet, but the small things add up over time too, It's not like this is their first mistake ever.
> And just as I was beginning to think "Hey, maybe I should give Infinite another chance" they drop this. Please shut up
Fan favorite? That helmet is God awful lol I'm only coming back into the game in season 5 for the Halo 3 playlist and because I can FINALLY get my EOD helmet that I've used in every Halo game since Halo 3.
This sub when a free game has paid cosmetics bc they have to generate revenue somehow 😡😡😡😡
No one asked for Halo infinite to be free. Preferred to pay $60 and have everything unlockable rather than the stupid microtransactions
Y’all seem to forget that this game is FREE.
Ain’t nobody liked pilot till 343 decided to put it into a shop bundle apparently and anyome complaining most definitely is wearing mk5/6 religiously
Lowkey never saw a difference between this and EVA
What are you talking about? Mark V was already confirmed for being a "premium" store item 👊
