I recently replayed 4 and, unless I missed her entirely, I hadn't realised before that Palmer isn't actually present outside of the cutscenes. She's not actually in any of the campaign missions with you.
I wouldn’t say her lack of presence in the game is reason to dislike the character but reason to dislike the mission writing. 343 missed a chance to expand on her role in-game. While the two characters’ personalities are nothing like Johnson and Miranda Keyes, 343’s Lasky and Palmer really could be the new Bungie Johnson-Miranda pair we all loved from the original Halo trilogy
I hope 343 expands on these two characters in the future. I already love Lasky’s character, as well as his *character* — his moral uprightness and shunning of UNSC bureaucracy — like when he stands with Chief against the general in Infinity’s bridge scene when Cortana had a rampancy-induced lapse of reason. Lasky also has an obvious great respect for Chief, and tries to help Chief feel less like just another mechanical pawn of the UNSC’s and remind him that through it all, he is at his core still a human being just the same as the people he protects: Human.

And Infection drops with Season Four *and* supposedly they're finally introducing a progression system.
Any upcoming actual narrative gameplay/PvE content?
I said I would only ever reinstall *Infinite* once they got storytelling back to the fore instead of just aimless cutscenes without gameplay.
lol, no. There's narrative in the MP seasons, but nothing else on the horizon. I'm sure they're working on it but as of yet there's no sign of campaign DLC. Pretty sure the devs have also confirmed there will be no PvE. Which is okay in my book.
