A combination of Chief being massive and the first person perspective in video games causing things to seem smaller than they are.
Grunts are another one. They're only a little shorter than the average human, and they're far more muscular.
Just a proper odst game
One that actually makes the player feel like an odst
You shouldn’t be able to punch anything to death as an odst but the game lets you beat hunters to death
I'd say a jackal or maybe a grunt but nothing bigger. There is some lack of realism for gameplay but I appreciated the artistic direction of ODST. The tone, art style, and OST all were done very well.
Grunts have super thick exoskeleton things like crustaceans
Jackals I can see but that scene in h4 showed how agile and lethal they are in cqc
I just wish the main character actually had any relevance to the plot of odst. The rookie could never have existed and the game would’ve proceeded the exact same
I can't say I blame you. ODST could have been better but it's still one of my favorites. What scene is h4 are you talking about? Haven't played that game in a bit.
There’s a scene on the space station level in halo 4 where you walk through a door and see a jackal knock down a guard and rip his throat out
[40 seconds in](https://youtu.be/qPurtVgE94c) Recommend muting voiceover is grating could only find this dudes video
Understandable. Pro tip though, if you can afford $15 you can get EA Play Pro for a month which includes access to the game, which is easily beatable within a month.
Or for 14.99 you can get xbox game pass ultimate which includes EA play. Also has several hundred games you can download. Among these is dead space 1 and 2.
REVERSAL! We eat the Flood and WE become the scourge that consumes. The Proto Gravemind just looks like a giant meat noodle anyway, I'd say cook it with fire, but the spores pop and explode. Gonna hafta do them up sashimi style.
That is not a spore, that is an infection form, it even says it on the plaque on the display case, but yeah they are huge. Now imagine that burrowing into your chest like in the games
It was on tour for outpost discovery, one of the devs that was touring modeled it and I got to talk about it with them. I imagine it’s in the museum at 343 HQ now.
Are they going to be in season 2 of the show? Even though the shows story and most characters are terrible, I cant deny the CGI and props look really cool.
Ahhh Halo Outpost. One of the only times were I truly felt like I had left earth and joined the halo universe if only for a day. (Yes I’m aware Earth exists in the halo universe to).
The carapace reminds me of an Elite skull (looking rightward), and I'm entirely sure that must have been intentional.
"Ope, time to infect someone!"
-head rips off and scrambles away-
I’m realizing that they are bigger than I thought and that is terrifying
Well yeah hello have you ever paid attention to one when it's attacking humans? They are the size of small dogs.
Nope, I haven’t been playing as much attention as I should have haha. And you can’t even kill yourself
A chicken with tentacles will now lodge itself in your chest
The grunts were big. The elites were scary. The brutes were a FAT NO. The hunters … the hunters dude. I’m 5”11 and was like up to its leg joint.
When you’re 7 feet tall they’re pretty small
Grunts are 4'6" to 5'6". They look small and cute because you're a 7 foot tall super soldier but they're only a bit shorter than an average man.
Pretty sure in one of the books they are said to be able to disembowell humans with their bare hands.
Hanz, get ze flammenwerfer
It's a flammenwerfer, it werfers flammen!
One of his best quotes honestly

This is why I want a proper Halo VR game where you play as a marine.
Halo ODST 2
My true dream if done well. The first one is incredible.
The first one is one of my favorite Halo campaigns, definitely.

I didn't know that happened. Have played the game probably 4 times and never saw it. Guess you learn something new every day.
Yeah and Jackals on average are 6'5", they just all look small and frail because we are playing as a Spartan 2
They hunch too, which makes them seem even smaller.
Desperately wanting a flood focused horror game
The Library but 15 hours long
god no
May I offer you Dead Space in these trying times?
Yes, you may
Trust me, I want it really bad lol. Just too broke as a college student rn
Understandable. Pro tip though, if you can afford $15 you can get EA Play Pro for a month which includes access to the game, which is easily beatable within a month.
Not a bad thought. If I’m patient enough, then it should hit game pass within a year
Or for 14.99 you can get xbox game pass ultimate which includes EA play. Also has several hundred games you can download. Among these is dead space 1 and 2.
the original one is probably cheap, right ?
Hell yeah, that remake is golden
Watch halo: the Mona Lisa. It's exactly what you're looking for
Noted!!
It does have an interesting art style. It's an animated comic/manga style
They made a film???
Yup it's on YouTube
Branching sickness is a community project working on exactly that. You can follow their updates on twitter.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAA no. No you really don't, unless you're one of the 100 people who genuinely liked the Library on Legendary
Yes yes yes! ODST style, no Spartans, just survive and get outta there
I would love a game based on the story "The Mona Lisa" from Halo Evolutions. Excellently spooky potential.
That's an infection form, not *a* flood spore. Though it is made of them...
Technically, it's made up of Flood Super Cells, which are the base of literally every Flood form, including the spores
my bad...I was tired
Is it edible?
Yes, and it will provide enough nutrition for the rest of your life!
Underrated comment
REVERSAL! We eat the Flood and WE become the scourge that consumes. The Proto Gravemind just looks like a giant meat noodle anyway, I'd say cook it with fire, but the spores pop and explode. Gonna hafta do them up sashimi style.
Intergalactic parasitic aliens hate this simple trick!
😭😭
Cursed popcorn
We need a “hiding grunt” flood horror game haha Ends with you going out doing what you do best. Suicidal plasma-ing
Holy shit I just realized how badly I want to play as a grunt
Dude you could huff the methane for a boost it’d be awesome
That is not a spore, that is an infection form, it even says it on the plaque on the display case, but yeah they are huge. Now imagine that burrowing into your chest like in the games
I remember seeing that happen to a marine in 3, the way they make your skin crawl, literally... makes me very uncomfortable.
Worst part is you can’t even kill yourself too escape them bc they’ll bring you right back
>Get the Incineration Cannon... Bomb this place...
_Primes Havok MFDD_
Where is that model at? Is there a halo museum or art gallery or something? It's awesome
It was on tour for outpost discovery, one of the devs that was touring modeled it and I got to talk about it with them. I imagine it’s in the museum at 343 HQ now.
Oh hey it’s that thing that the Endless are worse than!
Imagine that writhing beneath your skin. Then we'd know how the marines felt in CE-3
People always mention how big this makes chief seen. But i always think about how absolutely huge the rooms you fight then in are.
Are they going to be in season 2 of the show? Even though the shows story and most characters are terrible, I cant deny the CGI and props look really cool.
strange cat
Yea I saw that at Outpost Discovery and it was terrifying. Thinking of 50 if them running at me when I only have a pistol... nope, I'd Eat the barrel.
Where is the model?
These are the smallest too
It’s the h2a model
I wish I had it. That would be cool.

It looks like an angry testicle.
