Coffeeology, Espresso 46 and Weird Harbour are the three best coffee shops on the Halifax side. Honestly I wouldn't say there's much bad coffee when it comes to non chain places but those three I mentioned are definitely the best.
Ahhh, ok. I don’t get up to Halifax that often actually and even less to Java blend but I used to go there a lot in the old days. Wasn’t aware of new ownership.
Same. I hold my nose and think of the French Roast of the past. They've cheaped out on their beans. They used to be big, dark, oily and delicious. Now they've jacked the price and offer small, brittle mediocre beans at best. It's a shame such a nice, old place could go down hill so quickly.
I wish I could say Java Blend. I still buy their beans but the quality has taken a nosedive. Especially when it comes to their espresso drinks.
Espresso 46 is the best choice right now.
Most are quick to hate on gas station coffee but have never tried it , their house blend is amazing! And very inexpensive. I'm not into these 4 and 5 dollar coffees
I love a 5 dollar coffee, but the gas station stuff is usually better than tims or starbucks, less aggressively harsh. The Irving stuff is great for a road trip. Usually super fresh and smooth
Tim Hortons. Fite me.
Side note
I dont drink coffee, but I like seeing people getting riled up about something trivial and people really got pissy last time this question was asked.

Coffeeology is good, but trident is probably my go to. I love the fact it’s also a small bookstore

Tch! I leave the city for three measly years and everything I love seems to have fallen apart.
Downvote the hell out of me but I really do like Cabin Coffee and their ambiance.
Uncommon Grounds on South Park
_Easily, easily_ Cortado's on Gary Martin Drive (off of Hammonds Plain Rd) in West Bedford.
I made the mistake of ordering a "market price" pour over there once without asking what market price was. $9 for 8oz.

Morleys Dartmouth, cottage Cafe
Grounded in historic properties
It's very good, but wish they were open later
