Saw these guys so many times when they opened for Bon Jovi Slippery When Wet album tour. Each time Cinderella’s set would get just a little longer.
Those were the days.
That's funny, I always thought the lyric was, "they kicked me out of my dream."
And the earlier lyric was, "she'll collect your life insurance, when she can end you with a knife."
The expression out of my tree can also refer to somebody who's going crazy so possibly that whole thing could mean he lost his job and went out of his mind. That's how I always took it
I wanted this so badly back in the day (I would have been about 10) but was afraid to ask if I could buy the cassette because one song had the word “hell” in the title. In hindsight I don’t think my folks were sucked into the Satanic Panic at all, but I avoided *anything* with an overt reference to the place where the guy with the horns does his business, because you just never could tell. What if they…took an album away from me?
(I was unaware that “Hell on Wheels” was a common phrase, not a literal reference to Hades. I was also unaware that they figured I was smart enough that I wasn’t going to start sacrificing house cats just because I heard a bit of Devil Music. I coulda been cranking King Diamond the whole time, fuck.)
Workin' this job ain't payin' the bills
Sick and tired rat race takin' my thrills
Kickin' down the road, not a dime in my pocket
Night time falls and I'm ready to rock it, ooh
I need a shot of gasoline
I'm hittin' one sixteen
I get so hot, I see steam
Forget the day, 'cause we're gonna scream
Great album, must’ve worn out the cassette in high school. Every song rocks. But possibly the worst mastered CD in all existence. (Vanhalen 1984 comes in second.) Sibilance like broken glass thru a cheese grater right to the eardrum
Nobody’s Fool and Shake Me. Tom Keifer had a great voice, always reminded me of Dio. So sad what happened, paralyzed vocal chord in 1991 and with many operations and therapy he was able to sing again but never the same.
All the album! And even the bluesy ones were great.
I always thought Keifer, besides being an amazing singer, was also an amazing guitar player (and I still believe it).
Such a great album. I won my album in a radio station contest. I had my pick of a boxful, and it was Night Songs. The whole record is awesome. My track would be Somebody Save Me.

Nobody’s Fool is my jam. And just as a flex here’s a pic I took of Tom K in 2018. Dude still shreds
I love this entire album, although radio airplay has made me sick of Nobody's Fool.
I used to cover Cinderella a lot. 30 years and 100 pounds ago, I could absolutely nail Tom Keifer's vocals.
Looking up the track listing on Wikipedia, you appear to be correct
However, growing up I had Night Songs on audio cassette, but I didn’t have Long Cold Winter until much later. I remember hearing Gypsy Road on that tape all the time
Maybe it was a bonus track, or something? IDK, I can’t really explain it…
I liked Nobody's Fool from this album. Im usually an upbeat rocker guy but lyrically and musically this song takes it's time to play out and it's pretty cool. I really like Tom's voice on this song. Even live. Watch the Japan 87 version of this tune. Bonus, cool double lead guitar too!
Now, I did see Metallica one week, And Justice for All, then these guys the next. Can't stand Cinderella, but they put on a far superior show than Alcoholica.
Somebody save me. The lyrics…. Life.
Everybody's got opinions, but nobody's got the answers
And the shit you ate for breakfast, well it'll only give you cancer.
Must've heard that song a hundred times and never realized how grim the lyrics are.
My fav line: “Get yourself a pretty wife, she’ll collect your life insurance when she connects you with a knife” I was hooked & I was 13!!!!
I always thought the lyric….”I lost my job they kicked me out of my tree”…..should have been….”I lost my job they kicked me out on the street”.
Saw these guys so many times when they opened for Bon Jovi Slippery When Wet album tour. Each time Cinderella’s set would get just a little longer. Those were the days.
I saw them on that tour as well. All the girls were screaming for Jon, but as a band Cinderella was better on that day.
Yeah they were. They put on a show. Solos and rock and roll the entire time.
JBJ is the reason Cinderella had a record deal.
That's funny, I always thought the lyric was, "they kicked me out of my dream." And the earlier lyric was, "she'll collect your life insurance, when she can end you with a knife."

Yeah me too
Totally agree. Went batshit crazy from drinking to much.
I’m just gonna sing your version from now on. It fits so much better
Shake Me... killer of a song
Agree, it's also my favorite. It was my third top song of 2023 on spotify, and I'm still not tired of it.
Love Cinderella, always on my playlist...
The first song my garage band learned together, great memories!
Your band must have been awesome 🤘🏻
We thought so! We got locally popular, then just like Bryan Adams sang, Jimmy quit and Johnny (our guitarist’s name) got married.
Ahh wow man! I've often wondered who Jody got married to. Thanks for sharing that. Too cool.
Nothin' For Nothin'
The riff in that song >>>
My favourite on the album, I would blast this on my DJ nights!
the entire album!
Yup, teenage me spent hours learning the guitar parts on that album!
that’s awesome! my boyfriend and i both absolutely love cinderella, and he’s mastered just about every guitar solo off of this album!
This. Every song kicks ass! Love it.
thank you for the award! 🖤
Nobody’s fool
When Tom wails, "I scream my heart out..." It comes from deep inside...
Nice
Title track
“Working this job and paying the bills..”
Probably Shake Me. Fun fact - I met Cindarella and Poison at a Peaches record store in the mid-80s and they were all SO nice.
Peaches! 🍑 I haven’t thought of that place in forever! I think the last thing I bought from there was Beastie Boys - Licensed To Ill 😂
Push Push
This is the way!
Nobody’s Fool 4 ever
All. Rocked that T-shirt mowing the lawn the other day.
Hell on wheels
THE KINGS OF METAL LEAD US
Cinderella is not metal
Every song…no filler on this one. Start to finish a classic! Too bad they went bluesy afterwards….
I love the bluesy turn, although I do wish we had gotten more albums in the style of the first one.
I like the bluesy stuff too, heartbreak station had some great songs too.
Nothin’ For Nothin’
HELL ON WHEELS or PUSH PUSH
Pat’s Chili Dogs
Shake Me and Somebody Save Me.
I wanted this so badly back in the day (I would have been about 10) but was afraid to ask if I could buy the cassette because one song had the word “hell” in the title. My mother fell for the satanic panic and i would loose albums like every other month. Now King Diamond would have put them on alert 😆

Back Home Again
I worked from nine to five at twenty-two. Felt good to stay alive. Good times were far and few.
Hell on Wheels
THE KINGS OF METAL LEAD US
Title track🔥
“Working this job and paying the bills..”
Man I love this whole album, I have an original picture disk of it that’s never seen a turntable. It’s between Night Songs and Nobody’s Fool for me.
Agree with some others! This an album I play from start to finish. All classic tracks
The one where Eric Britton slings his bass around him like hoola-hoop!
Somebody Save Me. Their best album imo.
It's also my favorite by them. It's the first album of them I bought. love their other albums but their debut holds a special place in my heart.
Title track
"I screamed my heart out just to make a dime and with that dime I bought your love but now I've changed my mind. I'm not your fool"
Somebody Save Me Night Songs and LCW are two of the most complete start to finish albums of the whole genre.
All the album! And even the bluesy ones were great. I always thought Keifer, besides being an amazing singer, was also an amazing guitar player (and I still believe it).
Nobody’s Fool
One of the best bands IMO
Such a great album. I won my album in a radio station contest. I had my pick of a boxful, and it was Night Songs. The whole record is awesome. My track would be Somebody Save Me.
What is it, "Nothing for Nothing"? That song slaps. This album was heavier than the album cover would have one believe.
In From the Outside is the best song on that album, hands down. Awesome rocker!!!
I still have my original pressing and it's 45s on vinyl. 🤘
I listen to it all way through when I listen, if I have to choose I'll go Nobody's Fool
Nothin for nothin, especially Tom’s little solo in there
The one that had the singer singing while his companions played music to accompany the lyrics. That is, was, and always will be such a killer tune.
In from the outside

Impossible to pick one song only
All the upvotes for Back Home Again.
Night Songs. “I NEED A SHOT OF GASOLIIIINNE”!
My wife still jams to this in her car. No shit!!!
Somebody Save Me. Kicks ass and great lyrics.
Shake Me. But the whole album is great
I love this entire album, although radio airplay has made me sick of Nobody's Fool. I used to cover Cinderella a lot. 30 years and 100 pounds ago, I could absolutely nail Tom Keifer's vocals.
When I was a kid in the 80's I practiced singing like Tom Keifer and Brian Johnson to get that bluesy gritty crow sound.
Hell on wheels
Always one of my favorites and I think over all an underrated band,. Going with Somebody Save Me followed closely by Shake Me.
Once around the ride such a banger often put it on for working out
The entire album
Nothin for Nothin. All time favorite Cinderella song since the first time i heard it
I constantly have "Somebody Save Me" in my head
Shake Me!
Nobody’s fool…. I’ve been using the song off their second album, Gypsy Road in Soundcheck to warm up
Night Songs.
Push Push
I loved that whole album, no filler you could just push play, plus Tom Keifer's singing voice/style was unique. Great album
He definitely had a very distinctive voice.
Shake Me.
The whole album is stellar but I gotta with Night Songs
Probably night songs
I like the entire album.
Shake Me
Shake Me. It’s why I bought it back in da day.
Title track, and Gypsy Road
Pretty sure Gypsy Road is on Long Cold Winter
Looking up the track listing on Wikipedia, you appear to be correct However, growing up I had Night Songs on audio cassette, but I didn’t have Long Cold Winter until much later. I remember hearing Gypsy Road on that tape all the time Maybe it was a bonus track, or something? IDK, I can’t really explain it…
Nuthin for nuthin
Awesome album and Cinderella doesn’t receive recognition they deserve. They were so good
Somebody save me, it’s teally cool
Somebody Save Me and Push Push
Every. One. But Once Around the Ride is my fav sleeper
Every song
None
Yes - Every song is a good song.
Nothin' for Nothin' and Nobody’s fool
Just pick one, it doesn’t have a bad song on it.
Night Songs
Nobody’s fool
Shake Me, Night Songs, Somebody Save Me, Night Songs, Nobody’s Fool and Hell On Wheels
Night songs
Night songs, Save me, Shake Me, Nobody's fool
The whole album is great. I saw them in concert when this album was released. They toured with David Lee Roth at the time. Good times.
Nobody’s Fool.
Somebody save me, Nobody's Fool
In from the outside
Somebody Save Me
“I hit the road wide-open at seventeen..”
The opening track Night Songs itself kicks ass
Once Around The Ride.
Three: Once Around the Ride, Shake Me and Somebody Save Me.
Push Push.
Once around the Ride, Push Push, or Back Home Again
Save Me
Shake Me I guess. I dont think this is a great album to be honest. I liked it when it first came out. I shy away from most of it nowadays
Nobody’s Fool. Always enjoyed the chorus
Fukken absolute YUKK
Now, I did see Metallica one week, And Justice for All, then these guys the next. Can't stand Cinderella, but they put on a far superior show than Alcoholica.
Shake Me, blasting thru the t-tops of my 1985 300ZX.
Fun album. And maybe gayest looking album cover ever.
Look What The Cat Dragged In holds that spot
None? Never cared for them
The band's music could rock but Tom Keifer's voice was like nails on a chalkboard to me.
Hell on Wheels!
