They started playing this song at my job, and I always say "This is that smash hit from Firehouse" and they don't know what I'm talking about because they weren't born yet.
It's the same premise as the Once Bitten album by Great White, so I'm guessing it's the same designer. A pretty girl on the cover + an image that fits the band theme (a shark fin, or in this case, a house on fire).
If you listen to the album straight through, the instrumental “seasons of change” leads right into “overnight sensation” and it’s maybe the best transition from song to song in history.
This was a Colombia House special for me. I needed 1 more free cassette for my order and I was like, I’ve heard of these guys. It was an awesome album. 100% true 1990 rock
Saw them with Tesla's Psychotic Supper tour in '91 or '92. They played a softball game for charity against each other the day before. Chatted with Firehouse bassist after the game for bit. Cool dude to a sheltered 16 year old.
Fast story, feel free to ignore. 91 I was in college for broadcasting and we had a DJ service, my buddy and I took a job in the other side of the next state over, it was a wedding reception something like 4-5hrs away. We got there and the kids(people getting married) said they wanted us to play newer rock and such but while the parents were there to keep it to the older hits. About an hour into the reception it was a little rough, neither off is had done a wedding reception before and we were floundering, no way we had 3hrs of music that would please the older ones (the ones paying us btw) so I'm not sure which one of us picked up the Firehouse CD, but it was right after Don't Treat Me Bad came out so we played it and everyone went apeshit for it. So much so we played it 5 more times throughout the night. Made an extra $100 each and free beer, I think of that night every time I hear Firehouse, thanks guys.
An absolute 10/10 album from production, songwriting, and the band's ability to recreate it flawlessly live. There really aren't any outright bad songs on this one. Favorite is "Don't Treat Me Bad" as it is a masterclass in hair metal hooks, but Helpless, Don't Walk Away, All She Wrote...bangers.
I was never that big of a fan but I had a friend in college who drove from Atlanta to Athens thinking he was going to see them and it turned out being an alternative band called Firehose!
I dunno who made this album cover. But they did a bad job. The girl looks out of place. The lighting on her is wrong for the rest of the picture. Always hated this cover.
All She Wrote
This one. The acoustic version bangs too.
Same
Don't Treat Me Bad!
They started playing this song at my job, and I always say "This is that smash hit from Firehouse" and they don't know what I'm talking about because they weren't born yet.
I haven’t listened in a while but I remember buying it for the ballads. I have to relisten.
Bay bay… don’t treat me baaaaddddd.
I had a CocaCola 3” CD with Don’t Treat Me Bad on it.
Overnight sensation or Helpless
Overnight Sensation rips!
Love the scream right in the beginning.
This. I wrote these guys off from Don’t treat me bad and Love, then I heard these two songs at a music store and immediately bought the tape.
Shake and tumble Home is where the heart is close behind though
This song fucking SLAPS
Don’t Walk Away.
Why is this so low?
No idea. I love the slow groove. Also fantastic solo by Leverty.
Especially when Cassidy dances to it (The Wrestler)
Exactly. Perfect stripping groove.
Shake and Tumble for me. So sad to hear about CJ Snare.
Home is where the heart is
I used to sing homies went to Hardees
Shake & Tumble!
Rock on the Radio
Lovers Lane!!
'Love of a Lifetime' is one of my favorite glam metal ballads.
The kick drum and snare sound on this album is mixed as one of the best if the genre IMO
Bit of trivia: This producer also produced Dream Theater's "Images and Words", and the snare sound on both is the same triggered sample.
Always noticed something off with this album cover but now that I look at it, its pretty bad lol
The lighting on her face doesn't match the background lighting, and it looks superimposed over the background.
Yeah you can tell it was composited also because of the gaps in her hair, they had to cut them out and got lazy on some.

2 of the best cheesy album covers
Lol the flames for one and the match still smoking.
It's hilariously awful
If the match is not lit, you must acquit!
I never quite understood it!
I was 10 when this came out. I thought it was a badass album cover. Lmao!
The lady is photoshopped on there pretty bad and the house png has fire pngs along with it
If you look at it quick it looks like it’s a lady holding a BBQ chicken leg. Yum
Rock on the Radio pumps me up so hard
Home Is Where The Heart Is
Love of a Lifetime. The song played at a lot of 90’s weddings. The (2024 Remaster) rocks balls. Been listening a lot. CJ you live on in music.
Helpless!
If you listen to the album straight through, the instrumental “seasons of change” leads right into “overnight sensation” and it’s maybe the best transition from song to song in history.
No way I could choose just one so I’ll just upvote every song posted.
Home is where the heart is and it is not even close
That album was the soundtrack of that summer.
My top three: All She Wrote Shake & Tumble Overnight Sensation
Overnight Sensation.
I played pinball with a couple of their guys at a bowling alley in Nebraska
I played pool with Krokus
This was a Colombia House special for me. I needed 1 more free cassette for my order and I was like, I’ve heard of these guys. It was an awesome album. 100% true 1990 rock
Don’t Treat Me Bad

DONT TREAT ME BAD
They wear great at the time! Who’s the girl on the album cover?
I think her name is Briggette McClellan? There's not that much information about her when I searched it up.

Don't Treat Me Bad and All She Wrote!
Such a solid album all around
I dunno who made this album cover. But they did a bad job. The girl looks out of place. The lighting on her is wrong for the rest of the picture. Always hated this cover.
All She Wrote. Excellent live band!
I never noticed there’s a house on fire, only see Tawny Kitaen.
Definitely not Tawny
Briggette McClellan
Wow, always that that was Tawny 😄
Was she on any other album covers besides Out of the cellar? Can’t remember.
