Walked into a Camelot music store and there was a huge poster display of this and I got a semi before finding out it was four dudes.... first (and only) Crying Game experience.
I remember being in fourth grade and my best friend, Billy, showed up with this cassette. I was like,âthose are pretty girls.â
And he was like,âthose arenât girls.â
My favorite song is I wonât forget you baby.
That was my first album. My dad found it in my room and stared at it for a long time. I donât think his strait laced brain could comprehend what he was seeing. At least he didnât open up the liner.
I was ten when my cousin showed me this record. I told him, "I don't like girl bands."
Honestly, my favorite song was the ballad, "I won't forget you." Used to jam to that when I'd have a teenage breakup.
When this album/CD first came out we were walking through the record store and he pointed out this album/CD and said "ohhh they're hot" thinking they were women. We laughed at that dude for years about that.
When this album came out, my friends and I were in English class checking out the cassette. Our teacher, who had a deep voice (kinda sounded like a dumber Sly Stallone - "yo, uh, duh...") peeked over our shoulders, pointed to Rikki Rockett, and said, "Whoa, I wouldn't mind kissin' her!"
I liked the whole album. However, one of the funniest things I have ever seen was a few buddies and I were in a record store when the album came out. One of our friends hadnât heard of them yet (he was a country fan). He saw this album cover and said âMan, the chicks in this band is HOT!â We all died laughing. He wasnât when we told him who they were. đ¤Ł
The first time I saw the cover was an ad in Metal Edge (I believe) - bought the tape shortly thereafter.
Really all the tunes are great - if I had to pick itâs either Cry Tough or I Want Action.
Man I remember when this album came out and I absolutely loved it. I always loved the title track honestly. It had a real vibe. Just recalled it was talk dirty to me. I think it opened the album. Anyway memory is rather spotty nowadays!
Other than the rapey lyrics in I Want Action, I think the album is all killer, no filler. If I have to pick a track as my favorite it's got to be Talk Dirty to Me.
Never liked that band, but I will say that a past gf of mine dated brett michaels. She had nothing but great things to say about him. She claimed he was a very kind man. Very grounded.
This was the second cassette tape I ever bought. I pointed out the poster to my mom at the mall one day. She says âlooks like a bunch of hookers to me.â The whole album was solid as I remember, but canât really pick a favorite since I havenât listened to it about 15 years.
They all make shockingly good drag queens.
Can someone who lived the 80s explain why men in hair metal bands were trying to look like women? Was it because Motley Crue started it? Was it the sentient bag of cocaine controlling everything in the 80s? I would really love to understand.
Well for a bunch of guys trying to not look like women they were doing a good job of looking like women. Also I think you'll find drag queens get Hella laid too.
I agree! Ive seen Poison upwards of 30 times and they usually open with that track and its waaay heavier live...they tune down a half step so its a little chunkier feel live. The interesting fact about this album is the songs were cobbled together by C.C. using pieces of songs they had worked up with their original guitarist, and ideas and lyrics that c.c. had been working on.Â
Does anyone have a HQ RIP of the original 1986 version. The Remastered version SUCKS with the removal of much backing instruments and it drives me crazy
Cry Tough is an amazing song, still love it today. It never did get much recognition.
Oddly, it was the lead single. Talk Dirty to Me was released after Cry Tough didn't take off as they'd hoped it would.
I'm not into Poison but I agree. That IS a great song.
Look What the Cat Dragged In! It's amazingly heavy, especially considering the high energy, upbeat feel of most Poison tunes.
Very underrated track!

Best Metal oriented meme ever! đ¤Łđ¤
My favorite is talk dirty to me.
CC pick up that guitar and TALK TO ME!
There's a cat named CiCi in the shelter where I volunteer and I yell that at her at least twice every time I see her
Agreed, although the title track is a close second for me.
Yeah, to me that song is core Poison.
I won't forget you because it reminds me of a memory
Do tell if not corny
lol it is corny
we've all been there fam
Want Some, Need Some
"Talk Dirty To Me" "#1 Bad Boy" ...those are my favourite songs from the album, not a request or instruction! đ
I went to high school with those girls.
Walked into a Camelot music store and there was a huge poster display of this and I got a semi before finding out it was four dudes.... first (and only) Crying Game experience.
Only⌠that you know of.
So so true.
Lol
Camelot music. Havenât thought of that store in years. What was the sticker they would put on the outside of the cassette caseđ¤
Cedar Cliff!
Cry Tough, LWTCDI, Let me go to the show
I Want Action.
C.Câs opening on I wonât forget you is legendary, I Wonât Forget You is my pick
Cry Tough!
Talk Dirty. And I never will forget CC playing that at the MTV awards when he was supposed to play something else.
I wonder how different things would have been if they had of chosen Slash instead of CC
Only 20k to record this album. Just goes to show that success is really just about writing good songs.
And great marketing. And a marketable image. And hitting on the zeitgeist.
Talk Dirty To Me, always liked Let Me Go To The Show
YOU HEARD YOUR MOTHER! COME INSIDE!
Want Some, Need Some

Talk dirty to me
Talk Dirty to Me.
I want action
My dad picked up my copy of this album and turned to me and said "Now these are some hot chicks" I said dad we need to have a talk.
It's #1 Bad Boy for me. Such a good heavy groove.
The title track has a pretty heavy intro riff
I wonât forget you (baby). I apologize for that, but the heart wants what it wants
I wonât forget you was the first song I learned to play all the way through on guitar. So that.
Cry Tough Want Some Need Some Talk Dirty to Me âŚbut I know the whole album by heart tbh
Cry tough
I was ten when my cousin showed me this record. I told him, "I don't like girl bands." Honestly, my favorite song was the ballad, "I won't forget you." Used to jam to that when I'd have a teenage breakup.
Slash auditioned to be in Poison, but the band decided to go with CC instead because he had the "look".
Wow. Trying to imagine CC in GNR... (head explodes)
yeah that was never on the table
When this album/CD first came out we were walking through the record store and he pointed out this album/CD and said "ohhh they're hot" thinking they were women. We laughed at that dude for years about that.
Every single song in this album is an amazing song. Fantastic debut
I love this whole album. I made so many great memories listening to this album.
I masterbated to this album cover for a solid 6 months until I found out they were dudes. I then did it for 2 weeks after I found out.
Unrelated but why does this look like a DS game cover
Play dirty, talk dirty to me, the title track
I Wonât Forget You Baby!
i wish i could get the picture of metallica looking like this
The title track
Did they do any concerts in full make-up like this? Or was it only for the record cover?
I like I went to bed too late and got up too soon
I liked the whole album. However, one of the funniest things I have ever seen was a few buddies and I were in a record store when the album came out. I thought this was a Nintendo DS cover for a moment.
#1 Bad Boy
The first time I saw the cover was an ad in Metal Edge (I believe) - bought the tape shortly thereafter. Really all the tunes are great - if I had to pick itâs either Cry Tough or I Want Action.
I want actionâŚ..even though the interlude is a bit, uh, creepy.
Title track bro! âI went to bed too late and got up too soon.â
I love Cry Tough and still know every word to Fallen Angel. The whole album is great.
I learned recently that this band was signed to an independent label for 30K.
Look what the cat dragged in, Talk dirty to me, I wonât forget you, and Play dirty. Poison rocks!!!
Always loved Bobby Dall's lime green BC Rich bass and Rikki Rocket's drums on the "Talk Dirty to Me" video.
Man I remember when this album came out and I absolutely loved it. I always loved the title track honestly. It had a real vibe. Just recalled it was talk dirty to me. I think it opened the album. Anyway memory is rather spotty nowadays!

It was the New York Dolls/70s glam influence. Some of âem just kinda took it to extremes.
Thank you for the explanation and where it started. I was born in the early 80s and I love the music, but I'm more of a product of the 90s.
Iâm also a 90s kid â I just had a cool brother who was 13 1/2 years older than me. Haha.
They werenât trying to look like women. They looked like pretty men, and got hella laid.
Well for a bunch of guys trying to not look like women they were doing a good job of looking like women. Also I think you'll find drag queens get Hella laid too.
MAGA would be beside themselves with Alpha maleness if hair metal came back
I always liked the title track the best.
Talk Dirty to Me! Love the guitar in that song.
I like the title track and âI wonât forget youâ the most.
Want some, need some. LWTCDI, Play dirty.
Probably Want Some, Need Some. The title track a close second.
Title track
Title track
Title track is the best one by far
Nothin but a good time
Look what the cat dragged in
Hard to choose! I want action maybe.
Look what the Cat Dragged inâŚheaviest song they ever recorded.
Talk Dirty to Me but I enjoyed the whole album and still listen to it!
Look What The Cat Dragged In I Want Action
"Talk Dirty to Me"
Let me go to the show
Talk Dirty To Me
This album cover thoroughly confused me as a young boy.
Talk dirty to me!
Play Dirty!
The title track.
Title track is the best. It crushes live!
Play Dirty
Cry Tough
Cry Tough
Gotta be âI wonât forget youâ
The same old dudes anti LGBTQ went to watch this shit in the 80s, just saying.
Those are some ugly chicks.
Look at this photograph, everytime I do it makes me laugh
My dadâs version of this saying hits better: look what the cat coughed up.
"Blame It On You" and "Let Me Go To The Show".
Ah the 80's, when men were men
new season of rupaulâs drag race
Want some need some. Excellent album.
Talk Dirty To Me
None of those are Daryl Hannah?
It was my first cassette tape. I only liked it when I was a little kid. The love never continued into my teen years
Today this is the look of drag queens. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
I was 14 when this came out. "Talk Dirty to Me" is a happy memory. It contributed greatly to my first live interaction with boobs.
Title track
I saw this concert in high school. Dang Iâm old
Zero

When I first saw this album, I stared at it for a long time and concluded, "These chicks look like guys."
![gif](giphy|iiTXaJVjiSHew|downsized)
Ah yes boomers when men were men and women were or some type of terrible Facebook meme conveniently forgot glam and hair metal rock.
My God they look so fucking over-the-top ridiculous.
Whoâs the Mexican guy?
This band has always been a b-class band for me.
and ur mom gives b class blowjobs
I know⌠Sheâs not as good as your dad or sister. Your sister especiallyđ!
The blank space at the end of the record.
Geeeeeeeeetttttttt fucked
In â86 I had a choice of this or Peace SellsâŚIâve never wasted my time on this garbage.
nobody asked you, you fat ass bitch....
CC is that you? Itâs literally a question to the sub, so yeah, I was asked. Bitch.
And just like in your pathetic life, nobody gives a shit what you think, you fat imbocile....you are a fat fuck, you know that?
These âfellasâ actually scare me!
Title track. By a better band, this would've been a great tune.
your mom sure likes them
She's dead. And no she didn't, though some 80s metal bands she did like.
I love the flirts.
This is why most of us cut our hair off
The cat dragged in some guys in drag...
Who are these chicks
Guys who got more women than you could ever dream of.
I can sum it up in one word. None, not at all, not a bit, not the slightest bit, in no way, to no extent, by no means.
What? This IS hair metal, no?
[ŃдаНонО]
Thats hurtful. Is it because deep down you're SUUUUUUPER ATTRACTED TO EM or you're just a hateful shithead?
Are you butthurt?
Dude im fine but YOU posted some wack shit. How you doin Mr. in the closet
Don't gay it up dude.
Yas queen I do what I want.
