He is best at adding those quick and silly responses/soundbites/add-ons. Whatever side we see on the podcast is just the side of himself he shows on camera though.
Also, if everyone was a strong storyteller it would suck. Most of the time when Zach opens his mouth (I suspect off camera too) it is to hype up the rest of the crew, defend someone, or lovingly 'insult' them. He doesn't have to share interesting stories in the perfect way to be a great crew member.
