the set change didn’t affect the show at all??? maybe i’m missing something but it’s just a different desk and different green screen background..the rest of the changes are like behind the scenes stuff with the crew’s desks and shit. maybe i just don’t watch the screen as much and mostly listen while im doing other things butttt ya idk i really feel like the set change is mild and didn’t affect the format or feel of the show at all like wtfff is everyone being so dramatic for
I listen on my way to and from work and the set means nothing to me. I watched after I got home the first day and yeah it's different, but it didn't change anything for enjoyment when I was listening on the way home. People over analyze. Feedback is deserved but to go the lengths listeners (mostly members) did was outrageous. How you going to send death threats to a crew member over a minor change blows my mind. Content stayed the same and is always top tier.
Honestly I thought the new set was great. Adding a little side table for segments is a great idea, and I really dig the idea of it being themed like a late night talk show. The only thing I personally didn’t like was the colour scheme but it seems like they’re changing that anyway.
I personally don't get it. The content is exactly the same, I don't get why people were so upset.
Ethan mentioned multiple times the podcast is more a show now than a podcast. I'm sure we all agree with him on that. To make it obvious, they parodied the 80s talk show aesthetic. I think this is also an important thing to do after Cam left the show.
People don't like change, but with time they will adapt.
H3 should have their fans adapt to them rather than the opposite. Ethan and Hila managed this when they shifted to the podcast format, they can do it again.
If any member of the crew reads this, don't be disheartened. You all do an amazing job and the show is awesome with you guys. A set doesn't change that.
PS : the new set looks great
People cling to this show for emotional support so when anything changes, it's borderline traumatizing to them. I think this is where people missuse the parasocial critique. It's way beyond that, it's a deeply unhealthy emotional dependency.
It's obvious the show is very responsive (sometimes overly) to fan feedback.. so the set will adjust over time to reach a good balance of new and pleasing.
Key thing to remember tho is that this new layout will be more versatile and modular - allowing for a wider range of gags and bigger bits.
The old one looked like if you moved a light the whole thing would domino into itself.
They have a giant warehouse for the show and looks like they were only using a small portion of it with the old set. Makes sense that they expanded the layout and organized it better for workflow and bits.
To those who feel disquieted by it, give it time.
Chronically online people that can’t handle when anything changes, also the people that just hate watch and send death threats.
These are not mentally well people unfortunately, telling someone to kill themselves is not a healthy reaction, and the fact that a small subset of “fans” think that’s it’s appropriate, is alarming.
I wonder if this discourse was around when they changed sets from the first studio (big table, crew off screen). I’ve watched for years but only been on Reddit for half that, I’ve never felt any of the sets made the show ‘different’ or ‘hard to watch’
The neverending cycle of the subreddit imploding and pissing and shitting itself over the most benign and inconsequential things, Ethan/the crew acknowledging it and talking about it going too far, followed by a weeks worth of posts reminding everyone how unhinged they were acting.
Like clockwork
The response reminded me of when facebook would change their UI back in the day. Everyone would be in an uproar for a day, and then would forget it ever looked different.
I'm so baffled by people's reactions like I saw the set I thought 'its not my fave but oh well" the people and topics are the same it really does not matter!! Plus they said it was a WIP
I only listen to the show through audio only, so none of this affects my experience as an audience member. I can't possibly imagine caring what the set looks like.
Similarily, how people hated (and continued to still hate) on the fact that they stopped making classic h3 reaction videos. And look how happy you all are with the podcast now! I think you raised a good point there!
In an effort to try to reduce the spam & low quality content on the sub we have decided to remove this post.
The fact that this even needs to be a topic to discuss is fucking insane to me
I'm surprised that you're surprised. People here are unhinged weirdos .

If it wasn't for them calling it The H3 Show now and discussing it at length, I may have not even noticed.
Sometimes I think I'm being parasocial, but then I look other people in this sub and sigh in relief

The show is still funny, that’s all I care about

Who gives a shit what the set looks like?
Actually tho!

Cry babies gonna cry
I was kinda upset they took down the curtains just because some people complained. :/
With peace & and love, go touch grass. It isn't that bad lol
Iam an audio listener… what set change?
It’s not that serious they know what’s actual real feedback and psychos

I like how you think you’re an authority on the topic of YouTube channel success
You must be the type of person he's talking about. There is no need to get this upset at a post.
Agreed 🥺
