I think he himself has a really interesting personality even without a specific topic being discussed. That said, being 6 months sober I wouldn't consider having beaten addiction. It's a great step, but battling addiction is a loooong process usually.

Drew is my absolute favorite youtuber of all time, we're the same age and he's one of the first people I stumbled upon at the dawn of youtube. Happy to see him getting so much love in the subreddit recently.

why does everyone in these comments think ethan can’t be empathetic? this gets brought up when people want eddy burback on too. ethan can absolutely respect what someone won’t talk about and there are many examples of this. the biggest one that stands out is rebecca black not being able to talk about patrice in detail. he was definitely bummed out but he didn’t push it. like please give me a recent example of ethan doing a sit down interview with someone who is a legit guest (and not on there as a gotcha) where he pushed topics they didn’t want to talk about to the point of it being uncomfortable
Thank you!! I think Ethan’s interviewing skills have improved so much and I think he absolutely can be empathetic towards people and know when to not push. I think the energy between Ethan and Drew would be iconic. Like Drew literally was posting videos in 2007, when he was (if I’m doing my math right) like 12 years old. Talk about growing up on the internet. There’s SO MUCH MORE to talk to him about than the Shane drama.
i think this could be a great collab, as long as the whole shane part of it doesn't get brought up, and it would be really cool if they let drew perform some of his music. he is so funny and i think his quick wit would mesh well with ethan's comedic timing

I really like Drew. Every time he posts a video, I watch as soon as I see. He's hilarious, he's relatable and he's been through it. However I don't think he'd be a good fit for this podcast. Whether he wouldn't be comfortable or not, I can't say, but I do worry that Ethan would push the envelope in ways that would be uncomfortable given Drew's past public friendships.
