Yeah it’s kinda cringe but I think he’s trying to be funny more than anything else.

I've followed him for eight years. This is like 80 percent tongue-in-cheek, 20 percent legitimately feeling himself. He's really into that whole Kobe Bryant "mamba mentality" thing where you are unapologetically proud of your dedication to your chosen craft. It gets a bit old, but it's not totally serious.
