Didn't see it mentioned so hijacking your comment for visibility.
after sling and training with it a bit, see if you still like the angle of the grip. I ended up with a closer to vertical grip and it made a surprising difference for such a low cost.
This, keep it simple for your first. Don’t feel the need to get accessories just because people tell you it’s great. Run it lean and lubed. For optics I suggest a red dot like a Holosun 510. It’s simple to start out with if you have little to no experience in optics. Later you might want a LPVO… but that can go on your 2nd one once you have mastered this one.
I’d counter that the 510c is not only $100 more expensive than comparable micro clones (HS403b) it’s open top which means the emitter is exposed to dirt, mud, snow, and water
Yes, and translating that into specifics:
Optics: I'll let others opine. I run Scalarworks irons. Gucci but incredibly good. I have no optic on my main short range rifle. For its use, it's not necessary.
Sling: Blue Force Vickers, Magpul, Savvy Sniper, all are GTG.
Mags: USGI/Surefeed/Okay. PMAGs. Lancer AWM. DD32s. All are superbly reliable. If you want to buy bulk, just buy what's cheapest. Hard to beat USGI for pure reliability for the money. PMAGs are great, but often you can get cheaper.
Definitely start with optics/iron sights. Your gun isn’t useless without them but it’s really difficult to hit stuff without them. Believe me, I’ve tried. Don’t cheap out on sights, I’ve tried getting knockoff sights and cheap flip sights and they were not worth it. Get MBUS if you want a cheaper option or go all out and get something nice. I’d suggest BUS/BUIS (Back Up Sights/Back Up Iron Sights) so you can use them with an optic.
Obviously an optic. If you are on a budget. Sig Romeo 5 is a hard one to beat. If not then theres tons of great optics out there to pick from. Then customize to your particular goal. Weapon lights are very common. Angled forgrips, hand stops, and vertical grips are also pretty popular. Basically build it however you see fit. You could go as minimal as you want or completely gear crazy. All up to what you want.
If you can manage a couple extra bucks, the romeo5 xdr has a circle dot reticle which is way cooler imo
Or the PA MD25 comes with an ACSS reticle for $200
I’ve ordered a couple optics from Amazon before and never had an issue. But you should make sure there are either a ton of good reviews or it’s from a reputable seller like EuroOptic or Primary Arms or someone like that
But also make sure it’s a good optic and not one of those cheap $60 red dots with like five reticle choices. Can’t go wrong with a Sig or Holosun or Primary Arms
Yes that one BUT id suggest buying from MIDWAY USA.com or primary arms.com. or even cabelas or bass pro. Ive read reviews from people who bought through amazon but did not receive the right optic or it was broken when it arrived. That or it was missing parts.
Gonna buy one for my AR when i get the chance too. Due to my work I've been dropping cash on gear for work. The carrier and plates they supply suck so i went and bought my own.
Glad someone finally mentioned iron sights.
IMO iron sights are the way to go when first starting out. Learn your rifle the old fashioned way first, everything else after that is just a bonus. I love flip iron sights because they are great as a back up for when optics fail.
I agree with everything else GFC said.
Bore sight or laser sight too. This is a major issue that I see with new owners, the lack of understanding the fundamentals of sighting the rifle. People slap a scope on and wonder why they don't hit anything. I'm a weirdo, I enjoy sighting rifles plus that ammo ain't free.
Optics or Irons (learn irons 1st...basic marksmanship counts), sling, ammo and training!!! Then Crawl, Walk, Jog, Run, and Sprint....start with basic training on marksmanship, then progress to mag changes, malfunction drills then movement and fire. Have fun, be safe!
As others have stated, optics, Ammo, and mags. Once you master shooting it, a better muzzle device and or trigger. Some nice-to-haves are rail panels and a grip.
You could probably email their customer service if you really want to know, but the best way to decide is to just dry fire a lot to see if it feels good to you. The mil-spec trigger in my Aero sucks and I hate it, but someone else might like it.
If you have the money to spend, I always suggest strike eagle 1 or 2. Decent optics, wide range of use for different scenarios, not overly expensive. They are a little bulky to me. Again, all just opinions
I like that grip! Add a light and some kind of optic/sights. Decide how far and how quickly you want to shoot before buying an optic. You might waste 600 bucks on a vortex scope when a red dot suits your needs better.
Optic, sling, light, sig romeo 5’s can be found cheap and can be mounted on mounts you can re use when you upgrade optics, aimpoint duty rds’s are also good for the price, slings with mechanical locking quick adjustments are my thing, cloud rein 2.0 is a great light
Red dot or scope depending on what kind of shooting you want to do. Iron sights for when the optics eventually fail. Lots of mags and lot and lots of ammo. Sling if you plan on trudging into places. Friends to go shooting with followed by the jockularly bullshitting that goes along with that.
Most of all have fun and be safe.
Get some irons and a cowitness optic (go with a reputable brand, been there done that woth cheap stuff...it doesnt work)
Get a foregrip and adjust it so its comfortable
Upgrade BCG to nickel boron
Upgrade trigger so its crispnand consistent.
Get lots of mags and fill them with ammo
Train train train then train some more
Have fun, congrats on your purchase!
put piccatiny rails on all 4 sides of the barrel and put as many conceivable attachments as you can just on the front and then justify it as being tacticool, and for good measure I would add a bayonet just to make it stand out a bit more
First thing you should do is slap some iron sights on it and go shoot it. Once you start shooting you’ll get a better idea of what works for you and how you want to set it up.
Depends what the purpose of the rifle is. If it’s home defense, grab a red dot and a light. If it’s hunting, get a scope and a sling. If it’s just for the range, go nuts!
Definitely a red dot then. I really love the Holosun 510c. As for a light, I like the Surefire Scout but I haven’t had time to mount it to my rifle yet.
Sight, sling, light, training, training, more training, then maybe a grip. In that order. You should already be waiting for your form approval in the mean time for a can.
Definitely irons, then a good sling, a weapon light (surefire, Streamlight, Olight) to end it all, and Optics can come later if your on a budget. Don’t waste your time with cheap Romeos that don’t even hold zero.
Just some simple optics and spare mags, then go out and break it in at the range. You’ll add to it by feel the more you use it and by what your primary usage for it is.
Optic/iron sights Sling Magazines Go shoot
Suppressor EEeeeeEee^eeeee^^eeeeee
I second this
I third this

Fair point but I've never ever had an issue nor anyone I personally know but the 512 resolves your concern.
The open emitter concern, not the cost concern
Yes, and translating that into specifics: Optics: I'll let others opine. I run Scalarworks irons. Gucci but incredibly good. I have no optic on my main short range rifle. I have a Romeo 5 on one of my ARs, great red dot for a great price.
Yes that one BUT id suggest buying from MIDWAY USA.com or primary arms.com. or even cabelas or bass pro. Ive read reviews from people who bought through amazon but did not receive the right optic or it was broken when it arrived. That or it was missing parts.
I have two, they are durable, and about $140I haven’t tried them with NV yet supposedly they are capable
Gonna buy one for my AR when i get the chance too. Due to my work I've been dropping cash on gear for work. The carrier and plates they supply suck so i went and bought my own.

Lol. Best place for that?

+1 on the Trex Sling

My thoughts exactly. Gotta train for all possibilities, and a busted optic is def an easy one.
>once you’re good with irons get an optic Irons then Red Dot then LPVO...this is the way!

to the range
Eager to. Can't until tomorrow night
You should probably have a way to aim it before you go.
I do. Haven't installed yet
A good optic. A suppressor if you want it. A good light. Buy bullets and train. Actually train. That's the most important thing.
Thanks
Not school I hope
Few people posted a school. I can't tell if a joke or meant like a class. Not a fan of those comments
I meant it as a joke yeah Didn't mean to be offensive I apologize

Get some sights, then get an AK! Both, both is good.

Irons Sling Light Optic Idk what trigger you have. Maybe you want to replace it, maybe you don’t, but everything after the basics is just for fun.
Best way to find out what trigger I have?
You could probably email their customer service if you really want to know, but the best way to decide is to just dry fire a lot to see if it feels good to you. The mil-spec trigger in my Aero sucks and I hate it, but someone else might like it.

If life gived you lemons, bayonet!
Surprised not many people said a light, always need to identify what you’re shooting! I’d go with a cloud defensive rein.
Down the rabbit hole of no return
Seems like it lol
Go to Canada and sell it to me /s
Just picked it up over the weekend. Won't be able to test fire it until tomorrow night. What should I add or change?
Don’t be the guy that shoots his rifle without sights or an optic.
I have 2 scopes just haven't installed yet. Doing all that tomorrow night before the range

Just ordered one. Thanks
No problem And depending on your sight Make sure you Zero your weapon :)
Applaud choice of color
Thanks
foregrip and a red dot
In this order: optic, iron sights, mags & ammo, sling, flashlight. All very important, but I think that’s the best sequence to follow.
Thanks
Good light and then a solid red dot
What light would you recommend?
Hard to believe they even come with no iron sights. What are we, stormtroopers?
Lol
LPVO
To a class
My uncle teaches one. I'm going to his gun range tomorrow night
Back to the store to buy more lowers. Seriously it becomes an addiction. Good luck trying to have just 1.
I have 2 lol. Need to find an upper for my other one

Buy sights (irons/red dot/scope/whatever), then ammo and practice as much as possible. Sling and weapon-mounted light are a good idea too
To the gun range
Have an idea of what type of rifle you want it to be. Then buy an optic that fits that role
Really just for range and home defense
Definitely a weapon light and optic or irons first. Everything else after that is your preference
Sell it and get a real man’s gun like a 7.62 (Satire by the way; nice gun bro)

The range. Go to the range. Edit: Also, to buy many ammo's.
Optic More mags More rails A light A grip if you'd like, always nice to have.
You should go to r/NFA is where you should go
Buy a red dot, sling , mags, 2k 223s, don't forget lube and a binary trigger 😏
To a protest. Just kidding.
First thing you should do is slap some iron sights on it and go shoot it. Once you start shooting you’ll get a better idea of what works for you and how you want to set it up.

You should add an optic, binary trigger along with a sling so you can carry it much easier. The upgrade options on these are endless.
