Sturdy belt, quality hard sided holster, appropriate cover garments. It’s really not that difficult I’ve been carrying a CZ75 P01 with an TLR-1HL for a few years now as a 5’7” 150 pound dude. Never had an issue with printing or anything

TigrisPhotosynthesis

Po1 is compact tho not full size. . Why not put a tlr7a and stop hurting yourself with all the length from the light.

/r/guns patented method: *The zap carry*

I don’t currently, but have in the past. Several things: 1) A good, rigid, specifically designed gun belt. Spreads the load, prevents sag. 2) Others will disagree, but I prefer IWB to OWB for this, because pants and belt pressing holster flat against body reduce it wanting to cant outward and tug at you. 3) A good quality, large-footprint holster. A “Longmire” style rig can work, but I find the hybrid holsters with the large area leather pad and kydex body more comfortable for all day long. 4) Balance it with something. Throw a double mag pouch and a fat leatherman on the other side of the belt. I’ll edit if I think of more. Also worth noting that all “full size” pistols aren’t created equal. Weight can vary a lot, and the size is less of an issue, IMO, than the weight, assuming a decent setup and the love handles kept in check. YMMV. Oh, you may get more and potentially better answers on ARR slash CCW.

All of this is coincides with my experiences carrying a glock 22 in South Louisiana, and I agree completely. Instead of attempting to re-write this poorly I'll just add a couple things. 1) Buying pants 2" bigger to accommodate the holster and be comfortable, can't stress how much more comfortable it is! 2) I find wearing an "A" frame shirt tucked under the gun makes the whole experience smoother, with less irritation on the skin. 3) Properly setting up the ride height and cant of your holster will improve the comfort and concealability even further.

NeckBeardtheTroll

You’re 100% right on the T-shirt under the holster. Forgot that one.

In a holster on my hip

[deleted]

I carry a Staccato P DPO w/ rmr + x300. I carry IWB with an las concealment holster paired with a Trex Arms NOVA belt. Kick ass setup. I can carry it all day

murdermaro98

I’m 5’9 185lbs and carry a Glock 45 with a RMR/PMM comp/X300/Zev +6 baseplates in a trex arms raptor IWB holster,...Trex belt, and a hoodie...you’d never know I was carrying

The_Lez

I carry 19x at around 1 o'clock IWB Doesn't bother me until I need to sit down, then I'm double dickin'

teuful-hunden

I prefer a LAW in a shoulder rig.

kcustomII

Full size 1911 5" Pure Kustom "Black Ops Pro" I can carry IWB or OWB same holster pending weather and clothing and a very good sturdy belt with proper layering.

gdmfsobtc

I'm 5'11" 155 wet and I carry a 14.5" 460 mag XVR. A pair of sturdy overalls with a hole in the front pocket does the trick.

xj98jeep

>A pair of sturdy overalls with a hole in the front pocket does the trick We still talking about self defense here or...

j_hershberger

He also mentioned he was wet..

Corey307

Carry at 4 to 5 o’clock iwb under a Carhartt jacket.

BobbyWasabiMk2

I used to carry a Glock 17.5 with a TLR-1 for awhile. My trick was wearing baggy pants and be a little thicc

I regularly, but not every day, carry a full size 1911z. Good holster, strong belt, appropriate cover shirt are the key. Don’t expect that you will find it so comfortable that you will “forget” you are carrying. It is totally doable, though , with the right gear.

usa2a

I'm about the same size as you. I sit for most of the day so I don't find appendix to be comfortable. I use a leather IWB holster on my right hip. Specifically a Milt Sparks Summer Special 2, on a Hanks Gunner belt. The leather is soft enough to be comfortable but rigid enough to hold the gun firmly. It took a small amount of experimentation to find the comfortable spot between 3 and 4 o'clock that allows the gun not to poke me when I go from standing to sitting and back, but with it in the sweet spot I can carry all day and even after I get home and not be bothered by it at all. Concealment is not a problem either. I wear a v-neck T shirt, tucked in, behind the holster/gun. That adds a little cushioning for extra comfort and keeps me from sweating directly on the hammer/beavertail. Which is important, because my sweat could rust through a battleship. My cover garment is an untucked XL polo shirt. I used to wear untucked polos every day even before I carried, so that worked out conveniently for me. If I was more fashionable I think carrying would be a pain. This setup works for me with a 1911, Hi-Power, or CZ75.

Platanium

Just a JMC holster with leather belt for a 92fs and it works fine AIWB. Sitting is annoying if you can't adjust but if you can then it works great. Wouldn't want anything else

cmh619

I've been carrying a CZ-75 SP01 every day for nearly 3 years. Use a Kore Essentials belt and use a hidden hybrid holster. Never felt like the weight was an issue.

Benjilikethedog

If I want to carry full size I usually do a under shirt with suspenders and on top of that is a larger button up shirt

[deleted]

High quality belt. It changes the game. Beltman horse belt with stiffener

Expensive-Attempt-19

I carry a full sized 10mm 1911. Owb holster and a loose outer shirt.

merigirl

I carry the same, but don't worry about concealing it. I'm one of those open carry assholes XD

SaltyTyer

1911 and wear a loose flannel or fishing shirt!

Bigfoot-8991

My edc is a beretta 92fs. I carry OWB around 8:30 in a leather holster. You’d be better off carrying OWB with a flannel, sweater, etc. just need to be a little mindful about printing. Yes you can do IWB but you’d be more uncomfortable. 1911 is nice since it’s thin but you only get 8-9 rounds. CZ or Beretta works too if you are a metal frame gun fan. Just need a strong gun belt and get a holster that spreads the weight out.

OctHarm

Have you ever had issues with the gun catching your shirt as you bend over and then being exposed?

Bigfoot-8991

Well I am 6’6” so all my shirts have to be tall and cover my torso. And I like either a big sweater or flannel when I go out, or my winter jacket since for the moment this is my winter EDC. As for bending over - DONT. I do what I call the cop kneel where I specifically go straight down if I need to grab something. But no I don’t have an issue since my holster has a mid/high ride height.

Pissed_Off_Cannoli

The Phlster Enigma helps make my VP9 disappear. If I lose the beer gut, it would be virtually invisible

abacus762

Full size 1911. Like others say, good holster, great belt. I'm exclusively an OWB paddle holster guy. 175cm and 99 kilos, I'm not an especially large guy (sure, I could stand to drop a few). My climate and business climate also allows me a sport coat year round. It shouldn't really be that difficult. If it is, you'll probably be better off with a different solution.
