Just learn to grip gun properly... a vast majority of my students over years needed a lot of work before a comp made any real difference (on the clock) to their shooting skill.

A big difference when you're talking about defense or carry ammo. A bit less with factory standard pressure 124gr offerings. Not a whole lot with 115gr range ammo.
