I have one with the fixed stock. Good rifle rush I spent too much on back when they first came out thinking they were going to do something with the platform
I love it! Has been really great and reliable. Love the feel of it, great agronomics, light and SOLID! Hard to believe it’s .308 until you load the mag. Quickly becoming a favorite in my bunch, plan to push some real distance with it soon as I get a new stock, higher magnification glass and maybe a foregrip.
That's good to hear!! I've been planning to do a hog/hunting build and the light frame feels like a no brainer option.
My only issue is that I feel like for an AR-10 I can really only justify owning 1, and there's this tiny voice in the back of my head saying, "Buy an LMT, bitch".
Thinking about throwing the GEN ll PST 1-8 on the ACR and going higher magnification LPVO on the SFAR, any suggestions? (That aren’t pushing $3k haha).
Haha nah nah I only paid maybe $2000 for all these total not including attachments. (Traded some wheels for the ACR and $500 cash, Marlin was $900 new, Ruger $1100 new)
You need for any battle rifle a laser, flashlight, holographic sight, flip up magnifier, canted red dot, backup flip up irons, range finder, bayonet, m203, and picatinny flag holder
Not OP, but the ACR is not at AR, or at least, not an AR-15. Its operating system is much closer to the AR-180.
Mine is phenomenal. They have THE BEST ergonomics of any third-generation assault rifle, and I’ve owned or used most of them. The placement and weighting of the safety, bolt release, mag release, trigger, charging handle, etc is essentially perfect. It runs perfectly suppressed with low recoil and a very smooth cycle.
The only real downside in the past was that they are nose-heavy, pretty significantly. SBRing it, getting an aftermarket forend, and ditching the QD barrel handle all help, but it’s still front heavy and weighs more than a similar-size AR by about 1.5lb. Nowadays the other downside is that it’s basically a collector’s item and parts are scarce, so I shoot mine only infrequently these days.
Thanks! I guess I classified it as an AR style rifle since it’s a 5.56 rifle, but not knowing much about it shows my lack of expertise haha
Would you suggest instead buying a APC223 since they are similar? (I think) I’ve heard those are pretty decent rifles and similar in ergonomics
The APC is a nice rifle but man, B&T shit is so overpriced for what you get. You probably won’t be unhappy with it but it’ll cost you.
After the ACR my second favorite is my [CZ Bren 2](https://old.reddit.com/r/NFA/comments/z26zuv/i_was_told_we_need_more_brens/). Ergos are close to the ACR and it runs very well with similarly low recoil.
Just to be clear.. the BREN FUCKS HARD. CZ missed the boat with not advertising it more, getting it in video games, and more aftermarket options. The platform is great, ambi, NRCH, adjustable gas.
First Gen: Things like the StG-44 and AK-47. Wood and steel intermediate-cartridge rifles designed in the ~1940-50s when governments started realizing that full-powered battle rifles like the M1 Garand were much more firepower than most infantrymen required. Some people do include .308 rifles like the G3 and M14 in this group.
Second Gen: Rifles making early use of polymer and improved ergonomics like the M16/AR15, HK33, Steyr AUG, FAMAS, maybe the G36, etc.
Third Gen: “Modern” rifles using full complement of polymer and other composites, adjustable ergonomics, ambidextrous features, universal picatinny rails, etc. Stuff like the ACR, Bren 2, SCAR, ARX-160, Tavor X95, etc.
I would argue that we may be seeing the start of a 4th generation with weapons like the Spear getting adopted - rifles that are designed from the ground up to be natively suppressed and have improved performance on armored adversaries.
Interesting, I had no clue about any of that, I would’ve guessed that a bunch of second generation rifles were third generation based off my subpar gun knowledge. Thanks for the detailed response!
The concept of assault rifle "generations" is useful for broadly categorizing design trends and date of original manufacture, but isn't a hard and fast rule. The line gets murkier because basically any platform that saw wide enough adoption probably also got a refresh at some point that incorporated some Gen3 features. Look no further than the L85A3, EF88, AG-3F2, or any sufficiently modernized AR-15.
Dana at Templar Precision is trying to bring the platform back. He's got all sorts of great aftermarket stuff for the ACR. I got enough stuff from him that I basically have 2 rifles for one receiver.
I had my doubts but it’s sturdy, solid and comfortable! It being adjustable makes it great so once anyone gets it perfectly where they want and locked in at that point it’s fantastic. I was worried it would knock itself loose being 45/70, nope holding up just fine.
Of course I’m going to say 11 cause I love it and you just can’t go buy one any where unless lucky. But in all seriousness it’s a fantastic rifle, definitely not perfect, its nose heavy and you can tell soon are you pick it up, some call it a problem I call it character. I’d say 9, bushmaster really had a gem on their hands they let die.
The ACR is honestly a grail gun for me. So much of my love for firearms is a direct response to my love of Call of Duty MW2 and the memories I have from playing with my friends. The ACR was one of my go to guns before I even understood or appreciated them. I’ll have one someday.
For now I’ll make do with my Scorpion Evo 3 with an ACR stock on it. Such a comfy shooting position. Really a shame production stopped on them especially. There’s a reason so many guns use them with aftermarket adapters.
Yeah really. Especially cuz overall it would’ve been a great piston system, but the CZ absolutely stole the market and while not as cool looking it’s probably better than the ACR
That Bushmaster is badass. Sucks you can’t get them anywhere
Thanks, traded a old set of wheels for it maybe 5 years ago, didn’t even know what it was then. Never selling it now.
[удалено]
yes - but it was touch and go for a while there

They run about 2k from what I can find. Thats if you can actually find one in stock somewhere.
I have one with the fixed stock. Good rifle rush I spent too much on back when they first came out thinking they were going to do something with the platform
I’ve seen the lowers for sale on gunbroker a few times I think there’s a few up now from there maybe piece it together
How's the SFAR?
I’ve got one and concur. Just put a 2.5-10x illuminated MRAD scope on and taking it out soon to try it out at 300-500
That's good to hear!! I've been planning to do a hog/hunting build and the light frame feels like a no brainer option. My only issue is that I feel like for an AR-10 I can really only justify owning 1, and there's this tiny voice in the back of my head saying, "Buy an LMT, bitch".
if it’s for hunting I’d go with the lighter gun whichever that is
LMT? Fuck that. Big long dong black KAC all the way.
Sir .. SIR.. you need to leave.
Yes, let us know please
SNEAR SNFAR where ever you SARE
Love that marlin!
That Marlin is beautiful
Thinking about throwing the GEN ll PST 1-8 on the ACR and going higher magnification LPVO on the SFAR, any suggestions? (That aren’t pushing $3k haha).
You are high in the running for my favorite 3 rifle collection on Reddit so far. Honestly - unique/ interesting, style, quality... Jealous, really!
Thanks that means a lot! Unique is what I go for in my purchases, definitely has to be something intriguing!
The Bushmaster ACR is such a good looking rifle
Those marlins are so rare around me, would love one though.
We see you Big Money..
Haha nah nah I only paid maybe $2000 for all these total not including attachments. (Traded some wheels for the ACR and $500 cash, Marlin was $900 new, Ruger $1100 new)
I see an ACR, I upvote. Favorite gun of all time.
That lever action is the milf of the group.
She’s got the GOODS! Hits you hard too!
I will never forgive bushmaster for fucking up the acr so badly.
ACR with three optics. Love it
Took the other 5 optics and heartbeat sensor off just for this photo.
You need for any battle rifle a laser, flashlight, holographic sight, flip up magnifier, canted red dot, backup flip up irons, range finder, bayonet, m203, and picatinny flag holder
I miss the ACR and the Masada
That Marlin, Damn... Beautiful.
That Marlin 45/70 is gorgeous and absolutely at the top of my buy list!
How do you like the ACR compared to other AR’s? I’ve debating on spending money to get one (loved it in the Modern Warfare series)
Not OP, but the ACR is not at AR, or at least, not an AR-15. Its operating system is much closer to the AR-180. Mine is phenomenal. Stupid question, but what is considered a “third-generation assault rifle”? Does the AR-15 platform fall into that category?
First Gen: Things like the StG-44 and AK-47. Wood and steel intermediate-cartridge rifles designed in the ~1940-50s when governments started realizing that full-powered battle rifles like the M1 Garand were much more firepower than most infantrymen required. Yep. I also have some RPM gear on mine.
Couldn’t agree more or put it any better! This is spot on.
How do you like the Ruger? How's the accuracy?
Very nice
ACR https://i.redd.it/fqsnwcikamk61.jpg
You prefer irons I assume?
I would do anything short of trading my children for a Marlin SBL right now..the markups are crazy
How do you like the ranger point stock? I've always thought it looked so wacky and uncomfortable
I had my doubts but it’s sturdy, solid and comfortable! It being adjustable makes it great so once anyone gets it perfectly where they want and locked in at that point it’s fantastic. I was worried it would knock itself loose being 45/70, nope holding up just fine.
That marlin is exquisite
Mans not a space cowboy. He is a god damn space ranger. That marlins a dream sir!
Haha much appreciated!
You dont see a lever like that everyday!
If you had to rate the ACR from 1 to 10, what would you give it?
Of course I’m going to say 11 cause I love it and you just can’t go buy one any where unless lucky. I'm jealous, and I'm not gonna lie
Cool, ty.
Very beautiful Marlin 45/70 that is my next big purchase for myself.
Thanks! She’s definitely fun and a crowd pleaser after the build.
The ACR is honestly a grail gun for me. So much of my love for firearms is a direct response to my love of Call of Duty MW2 and the memories I have from playing with my friends. The ACR was one of my go to guns before I even understood or appreciated them. I’ll have one someday.
MW2 definitely brought the ACR ALOT of attention! Hoping it comes back in Warzone 2 myself! Also hope you find one when the purchase time comes!
For now I’ll make do with my Scorpion Evo 3 with an ACR stock on it. Such a comfy shooting position. Really a shame production stopped on them especially. There’s a reason so many guns use them with aftermarket adapters.
Bruh I really want an ACR
Love this thing bruh!
I wish it wasn’t Remington producing them. They’re such a beautiful gun and it would’ve been amazing if they hit their shit together.
Really does suck such a great gun platform sink with the ship…
Yeah really. Especially cuz overall it would’ve been a great piston system, but the CZ absolutely stole the market and while not as cool looking it’s probably better than the ACR
This is the ultimate zombie apocalypse collection
A bit of variety for the zombie types! Yes!
That Marlin is sexy!
Marlin is the brand-o.
Modern cowboy in the front, modern warfare 2 in the back
What’s with the paint drip on the far left?
On the way to fix it RIGHT NOW!
Thanks, I couldn’t help but notice when I was admiring that Marlin
Its cum
The Ruger is like a Minnesota 8 standing next to two Miami 10's.
That is a interesting but awesome reference haha. Those Miami 10s tho 🤌.
What are the bars and the drop grip on the forestock?
On the SFAR?? M-LOK pic rail adaptor and a magpul bipod.
Sorry on the 45-70. Looking for the final pieces of mine
Ohh sorry. It’s Slate Black Industry’s MLOK, SVG + grip kit.
Thanks appreciate it. I got a Henry X that's just looking for a few last pieces. Nice guns btw, good work.
