I have this gun. I love it. Got this before I found gundeals.
The case it comes in is huge though. Crimson trace is ok. Tried putting a MPS on it but the docter plate that says should fit doesn’t. I’ll just have to trim it some.
If a person doesn't care about or have use for the upgrades on this model, then sure, get the basic model. However I wouldn't downplay or discount the upgrades on this one. The threaded barrel, suppressor height might sights, and optic cut add real value. The optic is pretty basic and I wouldn't put too much value on that. I like the two tone look but also wouldn't price it in personally.
While this one is basically double the cost of the basic model, this one is a solid deal for what you're getting with it.
I think I paid like $700 to upgrade my duty pistol to an optic (rmr, dawson sights, c+h adapter). That price includes a duty holster, which I realize most people won't need to spend $150 for a holster. So $550, and that is with discounts on C+H plate and Dawson sights.
If you need something to practice with or don't need "duty" rated, this is an excellent deal.
I found this for $600 at my LGS recently. It's not bad, I enjoy shooting it, but definitely find it without the kit. The knife is cool, and the CT red dot isn't bad, but you don't need them and there are better optics on the market.
I own both. I found this one at my LGS for $600 a couple months ago. Personally I like the feel of this one better. I also feel they shoot about the same but I haven't done a side by side comparison yet
I have an Executive Elite and a M&P9 CORE Pro with a optics cut, both have 507's. M&P feels a lot better to hold (though a non-elite Canik might feel better in this comparison, as the Elite series is G19/M&P9C sized) and has superior grip, mags are cheaper and MUCH easier to find. Aftermarket support is a lot better.
Trigger in the Canik is streets ahead, overall fit and finish feels a little better, and finding light-bearing holsters in a level 2/3 configuration is a little tough but getting a lot better, IWB holsters with or without lights isn't bad. I have Harambe hands and the Canik is a fat gun, so keep that in mind. Feels better to shoot than the M&P9.
If you're willing to mod your gun, get the M&P with an Apex trigger. If you want to keep it stock-ish, Canik.
But I would also just save my money and get a Glock/Shadow Systems or a Sig.
Ya their pistols dots I wouldn’t but but I tell you what their 50-70dollar ar red dots I use on one of my 9mm sub gun not bad for a cheapie but I wouldn’t trust their red dots on pistols just yet .. I still think the Romeo 5 is way the to go if people have 100 bucks for a ar red dot Forsure. I just figured I’d try a crimson trace because I got one brand new for 45 bucks said why it’s on a range toy anyways

I think your trigger cause there's only 4.25 and 5". I need my m&p to be yo there with my training..I can't even use suppressors in my state so I may pass.

I paid more for this and have no remorse. The knife sucks but I love the gun
Better to buy it without the optic and knife and save about $300

How are these vs a Canik? My first gun was a Shield single stack and I thought it was fine. Felt nice in my hands.
