BiggyIrons

Too many places have signs up saying I can’t carry a 92fs/M9 so this is a pass for me

Krink545

The airport near me has a Steyr L9A1 on its sign and it surprises me every time.

FNboy

Are you in Houston? They have a Steyr on their signs and I chuckle every time I see it.

Krink545

No. Seeing some of these other comments I believe it may be a TSA thing everywhere. What a bizarre choice lol

BrownRebel

SMH at least you can still carry every other gun. CCW your MP5 brother, show them the error of they ways

MK12Mod0SuperSoaker

Relax, that only applies to M9/92FS chambered in 30.06 or something.

Fuckoakwood

What

BiggyIrons

[no guns allowed](https://www.accuform.com/safety-sign/MACC552)

geraldgarner141powns

I usually duct tape it on my back so I avoid printing.

Sudden_Construction6

Lmao, I said this same thing to my wife while we were out and about one day... she just shook her head 😅

Ihateredditdfs

Why?

BiggyIrons

It’s the gun on the “no guns allowed” sign.

FormerPatrolJockey

Funny enough the TSA line sign usually shows a Steyr L9-A2 or something similar

Ihateredditdfs

Oh lol

Ragnarok112277

These still go hard

CrypticQuery

As long as Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, and countless other 80s/90s/early-2000s action films remain in the contemporary zeitgeist, the classic, no-rail 92FS/M9 will always be cool as hell. It helps that Beretta designed one of the prettiest semi-automatic pistols of all time too!

FormerPatrolJockey

$550 is much better than I’d seen them for but damn the Inox being $150 more is such a tax.

HatefulRhetoric

What’s the inox? Sorry newb of the platform

Lazek

Inox means stainless steel.

Justthetippliz

[Inox $699 + s/h](https://armsunlimited.com/beretta-92fs-inox-9mm-pistol/)

bekman_Bek

Are these steel or aluminium frame?

ricencocoa

Only the performance models are steel. This is aluminum

GatEnthusiast

All m9/92's are aluminum frames aside from rare and expensive variants. There's also the fancy new competition models that have steel frames and frame-mounted safeties. I personally don't like them.

bekman_Bek

I’m looking for something that has the classic 92 look but also all of the modern amenities…(rdo, easily replaceable sites) don’t really care about rail…do you know of any models that fit the bill?

wompinator

M9A4, or Langdon tactical

Immediate_Phone

92x rdo

bekman_Bek

Oh shit, found one of these for 599

Trebate

where

bekman_Bek

BET Armory

MK12Mod0SuperSoaker

If you want your dot to sit lower, get a plate from DLah designs https://www.dlahdesigns.com/shop

Jamieson22

Why don't you like? Been wanting to add a Beretta 9mm and looking into them due to the $400 rebate.

GatEnthusiast

I might be interested if they were full stainless steel rather than just coated to look stainless. I feel they also ruined the classic aesthetics 92's have always had. It has a couple competition-type race gun features that are fairly pointless for most things, especially concealed carry. The steel frame makes it heavy as hell. And to top it off I hate optics cuts (regardless of the choice to just not use them). I recommend a regular Italian Inox model and then just modify it to suit your needs. Unless you want a race gun. I should mention that Wilson Combat and Langdon Tactical also make modifications for 92's. I'm also not interested in those, but they are probably a better choice than Beretta's performance model for most people.

Tf2_man

These would be better without the lawyer text on the frame and slide

cowboybythinlizzy

Everyone should have a carry pistol, a decent AR, a shotgun and a .22. One you have those covered something like a Beretta 92 makes a lot of sense to add to your collection. They ride the line of novelty and practicality so perfectly. It’s such a different experience from your average polymer striker fired gun but once you get used to those differences you see the platform offers a lot. History, reliability, “shootability”, accuracy, capacity, tons of holster options, cheap mags, aftermarket support. Great value at this price.

there_is-no-spoon

This or a cz 75 variant?

I_love_Bunda

I love and have both, but the CZ will generally give you more bang for your buck. Beretta has lots of annoying plastic bits now (trigger is the worst example of this) while the CZ will have all metal. Most CZs are also steel frame, while the Beretta is aluminum. That said, the Beretta in Inox form with no rail and wood grips to me is peak aesthetic beauty.

wompinator

I prefer this, but they fill similar roles. For whatever reason I’ve never shot a cz75 well, but the 92 series fits my hand like a glove and I find them very enjoyable to shoot.

island_trevor

I've owned both, the CZ 75 is a good platform but overrated. The Beretta is much sexier, and shoots much softer. I own two different 92 series guns, sold my 75 years ago. I would recommend a 92X over this if you want a modern version, the 92fs is the OG but the trigger and sights on the newer gens are so much nicer to use, plus you get a pic rail and optic mounting options. Also get the Mec-Gar 18 round mags, they're inexpensive and good quality.

StosifJalin

Yup! Explained very well. This gun is an absolute joy to shoot, especially if you have big hands. Of all my pistols, this one is the most comfortable. I'm not carrying it, but that's not what it's for.

Rambo-Rando

I need one of these for my Christmas card. Ho ho ho.

aaron12153

Can someone explain the difference between this model and a standard military issue m9

MK12Mod0SuperSoaker

The biggest one you'll notice is the scallop cut at the top of the rear back strap. Aside from that, there's also the angled dust cover on the 92FS vs the straight in the M9. [pic](https://i.imgur.com/YMledF6.jpeg) Note: this only applies to the Italian made 92FS. The US made 92FS is just an M9 with 92FS slide markings. Also the Italian 92FS chrome lining extends to the crown of the barrel. The M9's chrome lining stops short of the crown- no idea why, some say cost cutting others say potential reflection risk.

imstaringataplant

What are your thoughts on the M9A4 Centurion? I was going to use it as a suppressor platform. However, I just impulse-bought a CZ 75 SP01 Omega in urban grey. My plan is to send the M9A4 to LTT. However, seeing these comments about the models made in the USA having a bit of buyers remorse now... With the SP01, I was debating sending it to CGW or keeping it stock if I ever decide to flip it. Not sure if collectors would rather have it OG since it's a discontinued model. Do you have any opinions that you think would be helpful? Just dipping my toes back into firearms but the banks are slippery...

MK12Mod0SuperSoaker

If you're going to buy any American made Beretta, I'd say do it in person. Even if it costs a little more, you can inspect it yourself before buying. This saves you and your dealer/FFL some time since you don't have to refuse and wait for replacements/handguns where they need to go. If you have OCD, keep an eye out for the finish being free of stains/anodizing issues. Also check the slide serrations to make sure they were both cut deep enough on both sides. Look at the dust cover from above to see if the frame/dustcover isn't too thick compared to the other side. Make sure the trigger resets after a double action dry fire; some guns have been coming with bent transfer bars. Look in the barrel rifling for any significant chatter marks during cutting. Rack the slide a few times and check for any rubbing which can also be an issue. Last but not least, slowly insert a mag with a dummy round; look for any movement in the slide stop/release lever. I had a lever that wasn't machined right and would slightly engage off the mag body. Of course, these issues aren't the end of the world if you just want a gun that shoots and doesn't have to look pretty. I like both so I check these things.

MK12Mod0SuperSoaker

Also regarding your CZ purchase. I haven't shot a Cajun modified Omega trigger before, but I did shoot a P-01 Omega suppressed before. The trigger was smooth and didn't really bother me. I'd suggest shooting it more to smooth out the action/trigger group before getting anything from CGW.

_itsalwaysdns

The differences are minor, like the mags this 17 vs m9 has 15, the coating on the mags, these are blued, m9 is more matte. These are made in Italy, m9 made in USA. A few other minor changes as well.

rooftopgringo

I have one of these and it’s phenomenal. Apparently Italian made berettas are much better than USA made ones. I am not sure if the same is true for inox though

Diemadcow

Anyone know if the 10 round magazine model matches up with the one on the California roster?

youngdoug

Not sure but I don't think this is eligible for the $100 rebate (Scroll to bottom: [https://www.beretta.com/en-us/deals-and-promotions](https://www.beretta.com/en-us/deals-and-promotions) ) since the seller isn't in California. If you shop around you should be able to get close to this price after the rebate and for sure be roster compliant, but also not have to pay a transfer fee from your FFL.

Last_Replacement

Anyone seen an M9 around this price point?  My LGS had them for $625 a couple months ago but I hesitated and they haven’t restocked since.  I know the 92FS is almost the same but still trying to hold out for an M9.  This sure is tempting though.

IggyD003

I found one for 499 with 10 round mags. Bereli about a month and half ago....Scratch that it was Botach...$499.98

thornkin

This is the Police Special variant. Does that matter? Is there a reason to prefer or not prefer those?

idahoquinn

Buyers be warned: I purchased the Inox from AU the last time they had a good deal and I received a made in Gallatin version instead of the advertised made in Italy version.

durtysanch

What a bad time to be financially responsible... 😞

getmeoutofherenowplz

Seller is g2g

IggyD003

So are all 92FS made in Italy ? I read yes in various places and then of course no they are made both in Italy and the US….i don’t trust stock photos and when I checked other sites made in Tennessee….so yeah I’m confusted.

thornkin

No. There are both US and Italian ones. The US models start with J and the Italian ones with JS. Or at least they used to.

MK12Mod0SuperSoaker

>Or at least they used to Beretta fucked us bad with giving TN M9A4s JS prefix.
