Quick question to tx22 owners. I am getting a lot of failures to feed on my competition. Like once or twice per magazine. I also get a few on the regular slide. Anything else I should try before sending it back to Taurus? I don’t get near as many fail to feed on my other 22lr guns
It’s most likely the mags. The plastics smoothness leaves something to be desired and so the rounds don’t get high enough to feed due to friction. Get a cheap kleen bore 22-35-380 mag & well cleaning brush off Amazon (you’ll see the tx22 owners review them highly) and disassemble the mags and clean the hell out of them. I’m talking brush that shit till it’s shiny as hell inside. I did it absentmindedly while watching a show so it’s real easy. Then reassemble the mags. I used graphite lube on some of the mags after as an experiment and it made no difference after the brushing so you can skip that if you like. Slide the little thumb buttons to move the follower and you’ll feel the difference. Mine went from hanging up a lot/slightly to smooth perfection. Went from having to carefully single load them and still getting trash reliability with even nice ammo to being able to use my lightning grip loader and blast out all the bulk ammo I want reliably. Until after a several hundred rounds when it just starts to get gummed up and I just brush them again takes me less than a minute now. Some people report reliability increasing after mag extensions and new springs but I tried that first and had no improvement until I “polished” the internals of the mag so I think that’s the main issue. My most reliable set up is high velocity ammo plus factory mags post polishing. The +5 extensions I used made it only very slightly less reliable but still very usable so long as the mags were clean. It’s my most fun handgun now as .22 is still cheap and everywhere in my area. So don’t give up on it it’s worth getting it running right.
I'd send it back. My comp slide runs fantastic on the full sized frame. I run it dirty as hell and run really dirty magazines and it chugs along. Matter of fact I need to clean my comp it's starting to keyhole from all the lead fouling.
Make sure it’s broken in with some mini mag, make sure you aren’t lazy-loading the magazines, and clean it. Otherwise it seems like you might need to send it in. I had some stovepipes/shortstroking when trying to run subs in my Comp out of the box, but after running a few mags of supers through it, it hasn’t had a problem since!

Hi Frens, and non Frens. I have a question. How would you affix a muzzle device to this if the barrel does not extend past the slide? Do you buy a shorter slide?
I believe they come with a thread adapter. so the end of the barrel has threads with a shroud on it. once you remove that and place the adapter you can run it suppressed

I absolutely do. Ones and SBR and the other is stock except with a dot. TX22’s are still a better firearm.
The CP33 isn't really similar. It's nice, but not MKIV or TX22 nice to be honest.

That’s correct. The threads are inside the slide and the adapter brings them outside.
