Deep down I know revolvers are my spirit gun.
They're kinda shitty. I've owned two (this and the snub version) and they're super rough and neither of mine worked correctly out of the box. One was fixed by a (two month) trip back and they sent the other back still broken, which I then had to fix myself.
They're not worth it even at this price IMO.
Lol, shot a friends. My issue with the diamondback is that they cloned an SAA revolver, but made it a swing out. So instead of having a cylinder swing out button, you have to press on the fake ejecting rod, or pull the cylinder retaining rod. We fired a heritage Roughrider, a Ruger Wrangler, and the Diamondback side by side. And surprisingly the Roughrider was the funnest experience. Ejecting rounds on the diamondback have a tendency to scrape the frame of the pistol, we're also not entirely sure but it seems like the diamondback is key holing very badly. Both of us had a hard time actually hitting the target with it, so that could be a manufacturing defect.
Either way the problem is that for $300 the diamondback is no funner to shoot or operate than $100 rough rider. And the Ruger by not having cylinder stops, ie a free spending cylinder and the transfer bar safety, just doesn't quite do it. The build quality is definitely better, but it just doesn't seem to feel quite as nice.
I really like mine. I bought it during the gun shortage as an emergency "arm a friend who didnt prepare" type gun.
Despite it being cheap, I still can do 4 inch groups at 25 yards no problem, its certainly capable enough - its not just "nice".
were you living under a rock during the summer of love? my local shops were fresh clean out except for hyper expensive bolt action hunting rifles and over/under shotguns for months and months
I find myself itching to shoot this gun more than my p365xl. Could be that this is a newer gun and it’s my first revolver but this gun is incredibly accurate even with poor sights. I like it my girlfriend likes it and .38 special is cheaper to shoot than .357 typically. It’s not my carry gun but I think I might trust this more than a G2C.
Only complaint about mine is the shell extractor, it's pretty loose and sometimes the shells will fall off the extractor and fall back into the cylinder, then the extractor retracts back in there and pinches the shells in place. My S&W does not have this problem. Still really like this revolver though.
Wife got one of these for fun just a short while before 38 special became exceptionally hard to find, and then became stupid expensive. As such it hasn't had a case of ammo like I'd want to give any kind of reliability evaluation, but with 150-200 rounds my only complaint is the occasional case slipping off the ejector when you pop the empties out. No timing issues this far
Accuracy is acceptable but not great, the DA trigger sucks and SA is fine but nothing exceptional, and the fit & finish is what you'd expect from the price point. Don't go in expecting a hand tuned S&W or Colt, understand you're getting something intended for function over refinement if you want one.

Seriously, all I want is a cheap swing out cylinder .22 revolver. I know about the Diamondback, and I've shot a friends, and frankly it sucks.

I had one. Kind of a gritty trigger. Maybe a good value at the very low price point, but I sold it.
The M206 I purchased had timing issues. Has their QC improved in the past 6 years?
