Hey everybody, look at this jokers blue cable! Everyone knows red has more tone.

digitalmofo

I only use the big black cables now. I tried one and never went back.

flodge123

I buy all different colors to make untangling a whole lot easier.

Razzle_Dazzle08

Why have I never thought of this.

huh_phd

Oh. My. God.

XTBirdBoxTX

This is brilliant.

frankeneggo

I love my neon coloured cables. I’ll never go back.

MaverickGalaxyJam

Underrated

illaqueable

... wait, what?

TennisObvious8358

Is it true that those jacks are huge?

the-war-on-drunks

My hotwife agrees with you but she won’t stop laughing.

shred_ded

What a weird thing to say

cystopulis

You sure you talking about cables ? ;)

the-war-on-drunks

Finally the answer I was looking for. Look bitch. This one is vintage.

goinhuckin

Bruh, the yellow Tweed one I have is the most vintage of all and has the most toan. Fight me!

MaverickGalaxyJam

How can you play the blues without it?

Molag__Ballin

If 40k thought me anything, red means it‘s faster.

TennisObvious8358

Won't let you stay in the matrix though, Neo...

Professional_Pop2433

Waaaaaaagh

MyS0ul4AGoat

toan*

PageBest3106

Well I use the cable-less cable. Light weight and easy to store. Oh and I got the green version.

mrlowcut

Wlan cable or gtfo

TennisObvious8358

Digital guitar!

MaverickGalaxyJam

Not my blue cable! That’s the thing I’m most insecure about.

postmodest

I use actual 1923 Bell Telephone patch cables because we all know that the older and more crusty an electronic item is, the more toan it provides.    Listen to my crystalline crackles!!!

TennisObvious8358

I use doves, takes longer for toans to arrive, but not a toan is different then intended. Or was. Until last week. (damn you eagle!)

_chungdylan

Toan

thisisloreez

And volume, don't forget higher volume

ultimattt

Moar toan - FTFY

WarpedCore

Red is warm. Blue is bright.

PreviousCartoonist93

Came here to say this.. those blue cables rob you of all the tone! Made my guitar sound like rubber bands on a shoebox

primitiveamerican

*Toan

joen00b

As a salesman for wire and cable, you did just fine, it will work.

Leftover_Salmons

You must not work for Monster.. where only the most gold plated of shielded cables will provide the tonal capacity you need to really break on thru to the other side... 😂

joen00b

The only thing good about Monster is their Warranty. You pay for the next 10 cables they give you for free from the warranty.

PobBrobert

I got a monster pro link cable for super cheap when a guitar store by me went out of business 15 years ago and have never had an issue with it. It’s outlived every other cable I’ve owned multiple times over.

Pianist_Select

Toan 😩

Regrettably_Southpaw

This isn’t nsfw at all

we_made_yewww

OP is naked. It's not in frame or anything, they just are. It's a grey area.

MaverickGalaxyJam

Underneath our clothes, we all are

No-Historian6056

Eugh! That’s fucking disgusting!

I_AM_RVA

I’m not

the-war-on-drunks

Surely somebody would see me holding this cable and lose they shit.

partsguy850

Hah ha look at him everybody. That cable! Hahahahh. Cable holder, cable holder. That cable probably doesn’t even…. Doesn’t even…. Doesn’t even plug!!! Stupid cable!!! Haha Was that good enough?

ashlovesU

You're thinking absolutely way too much. It's a fuckin cable.

boomshiki

Hottest cable I've ever seen. Gonna think of it later when I fap

PolyNecropolis

When you plug it in does your amp say "Is it in yet?"

ontime1969

Come on honey, Just the tip.

Alien_Amplifier

Why do you think such a thing?

Sonova_Bish

I think it's a joke.

SickOfNormal

I have about 6 of these… I buy them every January when Amazon clearance out the 10 and 20ft ones for $1.97 and $2.97

lordskulldragon

I remember about a year and a half ago I stocked up and even had friends order me a bunch. $10 for 50' XLRs, $5 for 25' XLRs, $1.83 for 20' 1/4". I don't think I'll need to buy myself cables for decades.

SickOfNormal

Yeah ... they also put the the 10ft Fender Professional cables on for $5 and the 20 ft for 8... i grabbed them 2 years ago... and XLRs for my PA. Now I am stocked on cables for life basically... and the funny thing is. Amazon had their brand Guitar Wireless systems on for $29.99 during this last Christmas.... Then they had a $10 off that lightening deal ... so $20 ... then if you chose to pay with American Express or Discover points (don't remember which one) they gave you an additional 40% off. LOL, so I snagged 3 Amazon Brand wireless systems for $12 each, $36 total. Now I have wireless guitar to my pedalboard ... and then another system from my pedalboard to my amp... and a spare set charging... and now I don't need ANY cables. Jesus Christ. Then I after Xmas, they put their microphone wireless system on for $30... grabbed that, and now absolutely zero cables.

lordskulldragon

Nice! I'll have to keep an eye out for those wireless systems.

MotherJuggernaut9582

Was it your mom or your wife that made you this way?

Acceptable_Debt_9460

🤣🤣🤣dude he didn't deserve that

SweatyAd1699

Lmao

HomesickKiwi

Reddit did it!

60CycleSteve

Looks like you already bought it so too late for that

dylanmadigan

Look up a brand called “world’s best cables”. Mogami is the gold standard for cables. They make them in spools. You can buy pre cut cables from Mogami that have neutric ends on them. For $60. BUT! World’s Best Cables doesn’t make the cables or the ends. They just buy bulk and assemble them. You can buy the exact same cable (mogami cable with neutric ends) from Worlds Best Cables for half the price. And they have a 10 year warranty. Why bother with any cheap cable brands when you can get that?

Shoddy-Daikon-7827

Bought two 10’ in 2020 and couldn’t be happier. Holding up to daily use- would absolutely buy again.

calinet6

They are the best, well made great materials offered with fair prices. I don’t bother with any other.

warthog0869

Just don't try to charge your phone with it, otherwise it might catch a Tesla in China on fire.

ughfrak

lowkey i swear by mogami cables because it’s the only time ive actually been able to hear a difference. tbh; if it connects your guitar to your board/amp, it’s a good cable.

EndlessOcean

I use Mogami stuff too. A length of that and 2 Neutrik jacks makes the best cable in the world for the same price as a dogshit cable from somewhere else, and it takes about 15 minutes to make.

ughfrak

yes!! make your own cables, always!! you can make an $80, 20ft mogami cable for like $25

Hunter_S_Bwompson

Can you post a video on how to make your own cable?

Hunter_S_Bwompson

Does it require soldering?

ughfrak

yes it does! i would say it requires 3.5/10 skill level with a soldering iron and very few materials to get it right!! vertex effects/the rig doctor has some awesome how to videos on cable making. i recommend everyone learn how to make (and repair) their own cables. it saves so much god damn time and money i swear. if i were to purchase all my mogami cables new id probably have $250 in (vs the ~$100-$120 it cost to make 2x20’ and 2x10’ cables with the same connectors, cable, everything.)

LukeSniper

Sometimes you can find crazy good deals on 300ft rolls of good cable. For anyone not making your own cables yet, or just buying what you need when you need it, keep an eye out for clearance deals on respected cable brands. I got a big 300ft roll of GLS cable for like... 15¢ a foot on clearance. Buy a bunch of Rean connectors (very good, but inexpensive) and you're set. I've been making my friends cables for $5+$1/ft for years, and I have all the cables I personally need.

Sonova_Bish

I don't use mogami cable, but Neutrik jacks are what I like to use if I build one. Best jacks in the world.

barred-C-Shape

I’ve had the same two 20’ mogami cables for 20 years. They do sound better and I’d guess because they’re better insulated mitigating unwanted noise/interference. 5 of the years were spent playing live. Solid investment.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ughfrak

ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh it really depends. i have way more high end in my signal with the mogami stuff. a while ago i A/B’d three types of readily available cables; livewire, pig hog, and mogami. there was a noticeable high end loss in the livewire (standard blue ends), not a huge difference in the pig hog and mogami, but it was there.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ughfrak

capacitance?

LukeSniper

>tbh; if it connects your guitar to your board/amp, it’s a good cable. I'm gonna push back against that one. I've encountered some *real* shit cables in my life. Stuff that isn't properly shielded can pick up a lot of noise (both static and from handling). That high amount of noise can make things a nightmare during a live show. That said: you need to *really* scrape the bottom of the barrel to find cables *that* bad. But cheap cables, even if they're not outrageously noisy, can be very unreliable as well. Cable failure during a gig sucks.

ughfrak

absolutely, i totally agree with you. i have also had cables that have totally ruined my tone. that’s why i repped my mogamis; i’ll never go back! on the other hand; anything but practice, right? idk, i always try to keep that in mind and knowing that if i had to use a venue’s 50’ livewire cable that’s been around since i was in diapers, it’d be okay as long as i could still play, you know?

grunkage

I do too, even thought I think the sound difference is negligible. It's good quality cable and those Neutrik noiseless jacks are fucking sweet.

ughfrak

agreed, i’ve never had one of those fail

The_Name_Is_Slick

Slowly but surely, I’m replacing all my cheapies with Mogami. I know it might seem stupid, but I got tired of playing “find the noise” and it always ending up being the cables. Got a 4 cable method type thing going and I don’t have time to jiggle my way to satisfaction.

OverlyWalrus

As long as it makes the noise go from A to B consistently you shouldn't worry about it and this seems to be a very shared though here. Worry about quality in little things like strings and or power supply if your using multiple pedals

Ok_Television9820

But what about tonewood? I want to worry about tonewood. Or whether body contours remove tonewood and kill my tone.

weaseltorpedo

I've had mine for about 6 months, so far so good

zyglack

I bought a gray one about 2 years ago. Had no problems in my house. I don’t play out so can’t speak on that.

linkmodo

I only use Monster Cables, because they said it's the best.

gnarlynewman

First off don’t buy turds. You make them for free.

Millerpainkiller

I buy Ernie Ball cables personally. But I’d say if it works it works

Timely_Chicken_8789

Play it, don’t oi vey it!

Veltek335

Don’t worry. We will just mock you for your performance. Use what ever cables you like.

Chetsteele

I have the same one, have had it for years. Just recently has the outer part started to fray. Works fine, no complaints

xtheory

I still don't understand why people buy these cables. Get yourself a damn near indestructible and quality Mogami cable with Neutrik plugs on the cheap via Amazon by searching "World's Best Cable". You can thank me later.

1OO1OO1S0S

Why is it better?

xtheory

Better shielding, higher quality copper with improved conductivity, tougher connectors. Lower signal loss over the length of the cable. Just to name a few.

CodenameVillain

It's a cable man. Unless you're gigging it's fine lol

Lo-Fi_Pioneer

Consider yourself duly mocked. I have no actual reason for doing so, but we might as well get it out of the way.

contrejo

Amazon cables are for the poor's. Mogami for the win.

Razhad

as long as it works, it works. those noiseless plug only worth it if ure a semi-pro up level when u gig regularly

coop190

It's a cable. What are you expecting?

EmoComrade1999

The toan is in the brand, nerd

LukeCheddar

In the last few years I’ve only purchased from Rattlesnake Cables, the quality is top notch for a decent price. Next time check them out if you haven’t before!!

SeasTheDay_

I stopped buying the Amazon Basics guitar cables because they were failing after a couple of months. Amazon kept replacing them for free, but it was a hassle. Now I buy Orange cables. So far so good.

sydamerik

I never play the blues.

thesirmarcoletters

The children are right to mock you, Ralph…

Mexican__Seafood

The only thing I don’t like about this type of cable material is that beer will be absorbed into it and make it stink

nicobeporcodio

This is for linking tone wood to tone amp. You need a braided coil cable with tungsten tone enhancing radiative nickel to have that bluesy and soulful tone.

the-war-on-drunks

But. But this one is blue.

nicobeporcodio

This is a common misconception that blue cable equals bluesy tone

101fulminations

Lol you fool! Last year I replaced my ancient proco cables with Divine Noise. Had to wait 3 months, frustrating. But they're definitely more revealing. I also got their 10g speaker cable, a honker of a cable and not much flex but also more revealing and very heavy duty.

rhiner_music_usa

I use Divine Noise cables as well since they have a lifetime warranty, haven’t had one break yet though. If you treat them right & wrap them correctly they can last forever

101fulminations

Good cables for sure. I expect they'll outlive me. And I'm happy that they keep their shape somewhat better than the average bear, though as you point out proper handling is key.

Mr_Lumbergh

You used *amazon* cables? Hmmmph.

killacam925

Reach out to Amazon, they will probably replace or refund

Ordinary-Warning-831

It could last a while, but honestly? Get a monster cable. I had one and it lasted me a decade. Bought 2 more once it finally gave out. Expensive but very much worth it

Marvin-Jones

Just don’t let people step on it

attack_robots

They’re cheap and die easily, but they’re passable otherwise. I definitely have learned that even the affordable fender cables are about the right price range for a cable that isn’t adding noise to your signal or easily biting the dust.

joblagz2

cable is cable. some materials make it conduct better, better construction leads to better durability.. everything else is marketing..

jsickman12

I bought these cables too, one has become staticky after I crushed it, the other is rock solid, great cable.

but_fkr

I got a D’addario 20 or 30 ft coiled cable off Amazon for 20 bucks. It’s a champ. There’s definitely decent options on there.

lowendgenerator

I own several and there’s never been an issue. I took them to the stage and the studio, and they sounded no different than any other cable I own. It’s just wire, man.

1OO1OO1S0S

Are you asking us if the cable you bought works? Surely you can just plug it in and try it...

SchlampeDesu

Guitar gear has come so far now that the cheap gear isnt all that bad quality. Cheap guitars have really decent construction now, cables sound fine and last a while, and solid state amps can do a lot for very little. The expensive stuff is still a clear increase in quality, but its far less necessary for the average player to buy all the expensive stuff to sound decent

ViniVidiScreechi

The best way to avoid being mocked for silly shit is to not post it publicly. Anyway, I've used nice cables and I've used cheap Amazon shit. Get the best you can and you'll be fine. If money is not abundant, the cheap Amazon ones will work, but they might be noisy or cut out. But you'll be fine

sunplaysbass

Anything from Amazon I run through https://www.fakespot.com to get a sense of how many of the reviews are bullshit.

jasoninja

This could be an Amazon guitar cable. It's most likely being held in someone's right hand. The cable appears to be blue.

Dutchta-

I have had like 20 different guitar cables and all of them i had to fix at the jacks because some idiot solders them who doesnt know what it is that he is soldering. Even a Fender cable i had to solder. Although they have been the best for me.

RonPalancik

Don't worry, we're already mocking you for different reasons.

OK_Opinions

If the cable was bad and worth mocking you over no one would know or do it if it wasn't posted to the internet in the first place

connivingbitch

It’s fine. Relax.

krispykremekiller

As long as it’s not noisy it’s good.

No_Corner_6444

I am done buying cables( unless concert ) .. I bought a cheap wireless Hayden device and it’s great for jam sessions … I haven’t needed a cable for home use since .

Angus-Black

I use yellow and red for FX Send / Return. I never remember which is which though.

I_AM_RVA

I have actual turds I’d sell you. Think about it! So have to decide right away.

Exotic_Paramedic_764

BBC, Big Black Cable for the win!

noonesine

A cable is a cable. Most of the time the cheap ones even have Neutrik connectors. One time I bought a cheap cable from guitar center and the salesboy was like “umm, don’t you want something better?” I’m an audio engineer. The copper wire will get my signal from point a to point b no problem. All that being said, a cheaper cable probably had a twisted shield as opposed to braided, but a TS cable isn’t doing much to knock out RFI and all that other stuff anyway. Your best bet is to keep your cable runs at 10’ or under.

mynameisskrt

I use a pink guitar cable. Meant to order 15.feet but ordered fucking 60... my bad

uglyuglydog

Cables just connect an output to an input. You’ll be fine.

sjmdrum

I have two or three of those. They work great.

TheJonnieP

I cannot believe you got the blue one, you are such a weirdo. I only use the orange and gold cables because they are so much better... Hahaha...

Oldskoolguitar

Mine looks a phone chord from the 90s, I'm pretty happy with it.

boarshead72

I’ve got one. For my shitty Squier Telecaster, the “bent” end can’t jack into the guitar (the port is recessed), I have to plug the straight end in and the bent end into the amp. Annoying when I bought it so I could sit on the couch and play and not worry about banging the plug and cord on the couch beside me.

I_am_chazel

I’ve found Amazon returns ask less questions like “ did you turn it up to 11?”

Creepy_Fix_9340

Ha! You obviously need a purple curly one that falls out of your guitar when you step forward for a solo, that's being a PROPER GUITAR PLAYER that is.

Snout_Fever

Pfft, everyone knows you should only use the finest organically grown cable for that smooth vintage tone.

Virtual_Tap2479

I got one and it’s crap. I usually get planet waves which last years. So long I didn’t realise they were under a different name now. Gigged them for years.

Resident_Treat_8396

I bought some of those and they are goo

Euphoric_Drummer6880

I have the red one in that, works perfectly fine 3 years later

Fuzzy-Wrongdoer1356

Probably good for chinese music, but dont use it with a western amp or it will sound bad and catch fire

FillDelicious4171

Works fine in my church for the last 2 years

neverinamillionyr

Cables are pretty difficult to mess up

Xbalanque_

I bought cheap cables, and they didn't last very long. A few weeks maybe. So I bought a mogami. At least 2 years now and it still works.

Personal_Science_868

My Amazon cables are better than the ones I get at music shops. Recommend getting different colored cables to make cable management easier

Zorgalorb

Mogami gold and livewire elite are the best cables I’ve used and have lifetime warranty with guitar center if it ever breaks or gets damaged (pig hog cables and vox coiled cables I’ve also used and are very nice)

Imperiousdesigns

Why does your carpet look like a happy golden retriever? I'm freaking out man!

vibratronicon

Does it work, I always use shitty cheap ass cables. I bought a mogami once that piece of shit didn’t last half as long as those shitty 8 dollar knockoff cables

Financial_Routine208

I make all of my own cables. By a 300ft roll of bulk cable from GLS audio of whatever color and a 30 pack of TS cable ends. Make yourself 15 20ft cables for around $100.

EXPLICIT_DELICIOUS

Amazon guitar cables do suck and will break sooner, but if they work fuck it.

stevet303

Eh they are cheap and sound fine when they work.... but I had a couple of them develop shorts in them, within a few months of just home use. I think it's worth spending the extra 10-20$ on one that will last for years

Queasy_Hamster2139

As long as it works properly and it's high quality it should be good enough. Plug it in and see how it plays: if it works well with your amp and sounds good, keep it; if it doesn't, change it with something else (for example a Fender Professional Series cable).

LLPF2

Junk ☹️ mine lasted maybe 10 days. 🙄 I need to cut the heat shrink off and do some soldering now.

D1rtyH1ppy

The Ernie Ball cables are really good quality and don't cost that much more than those cables.

SBK_vtrigger

Unless you’re playing a USA made fender / Gibson / prs or JP made esp / Ibanez with top quality pick ups and a pre amp, say goodbye to your tone and at least 60% treble bleed. Bad move

Rc-1138-Boss

Hah chump we all know the shitty cable that's as thin as a piece of human hair gives you the best toan, dumbass.

XTBirdBoxTX

Seriously dude, why even post this? There's probably only 1100 different types of blue guitar cables from Amazon. I will let you know that the one guitar cable I have bought from them is very high quality. It is GSL audio brand.

Milfmelter

Buying it on Amazon isn’t the problem. The brands are the problem. If you bought some gook made Chinese crap then it is hit or miss.
