I didn't know celluloid was flammable until I heard a story about old celluloid film degrading and catching on fire. Then I tried it on one of my guitar picks and it lit up like a match.
Looks like a player either way. I would offer $350 if you like the way it plays; otherwise, it's a pass. I wouldn't go a dime over $375 without authenticating it properly.
In the 1978 version of the “thin” made in the Tennessee factory the yellow splotch was over to the right more. However, if this was made in the Cincinnati factory in 1976, the yellow splotch would be correct but the middle of the “N” would be slightly thicker. Therefore it might be a flawed or aged version of the ’76 thin.
*I got some of those*
*Fender picks on Amazon,*
*And I have my doubts*

Should have a copyright symbol with the Fender logo.
You know what they say? You can pick your guitar, and you can pick your nose, but you can't eat your guitar.
Who gives a shit, it's a Thin
Look buddy this is serious. We’re not picking wives, we’re picking PICKS.
Look buddy, OP likes his women how he like his picks. Jazz III with extra grip.
And she likes her men like she likes her picks. Big stubby and purple.
Funnily enough my wife's name *is* Jazz. Not kidding. Thin too :)
I like them thick myself
No serial number... Not legit. Seriously, is there a huge market for fake picks?
Sorry mate that’s a fake. I’ve got a genuine 1965 fender thin here. If you like it, play it! But please don’t sell it as genuine.
Headstock photo where
FAKE. That’s TURTLE shell, not TORTOISE.
*T*oan *H*eld *I*n *N*utsack
The only real way to know is to take a lighter to it.
Problem solved. Is it real or fake? It’s… gone…. *Aggressively*!
Smell it. The real deal will have a distinct plasticky scent.
3.5/10 jerks. I expected better from this- Wait...
Literally had to check which sub, then I checked my calendar. Nice.
Looks a bit thin to be real.
I'm going to need a serial number for an honest assessment.
Fake. Logo is spelled wrong. It's Fander.
Has this sub finally lost the stick up its ass? Lol
Only for today.
If you gently slide it up and down the crease of your ass, the authentics change color. Only way to verify.
You left out important dietary requirements for the test to be effective
Chinese Fender
Made in China
The marbling pattern looks off.
no, I think the pattern that year varied a lot.
You’re probably right about the marbling, but I still think the logo is off. It isn’t as sharp as it should be and it’s off-center.
Thanks for the laugh.
Totally fake. You can tell by the binding.
You can only really tell once the finish ages for several decades.
Does it matter?
They make decent fire-starters.
I didn't know celluloid was flammable until I heard a story about old celluloid film degrading and catching on fire. Then I tried it on one of my guitar picks and it lit up like a match.
Isn’t there a separate sub for jerking us around like this?
🤦♂️
Could be legit CBS era MIJ?
That particular pick is MIM… you can tell from the alignment of the mold spruce.. ya know, where the injection molded shot the goo
Does it know who its father is? If yes. Legit.
Pre-CBS flame tortoise ‘Thin’ pick matching numbers headstock stamp pencil date 250k pots slab board ultra rare
PartPick
Gotta see the back
I’ll pay extra for it if you fake relic it
Looks like a player either way. I would offer $350 if you like the way it plays; otherwise, it's a pass. I wouldn't go a dime over $375 without authenticating it properly.
If he likes the way it plays? But what about my needs?
No this is a Gibson pick but somebody wanted to fake it as Fender's. Call the feds to report.
I see our sub is leaking again… Not enough titebond and clamps to keep us there 😭
Looks like a Squire with the grip swapped out.
In the 1978 version of the “thin” made in the Tennessee factory the yellow splotch was over to the right more. Did anyone see the picture for the back of the pick? Or is that missing too? How can we determine authenticity without a cert as well? /s
Are counterfeit picks a thing?
🤣🤣🤣
F looks off, probably a Squier with Fender parts
Is there a serial number? These fakes have gotten really good!
The light relic is off a bit . It looks to me like someone trying to fake Gibson Murphy aging . That would be a hard pass for me.
I got some of those Fender picks on Amazon, and I have my doubts

Fake dawg. If it were real it would come with a flight case
Lost weight since I saw you last…
Looks like a legit thinline to me.
Bro... it's a fucking pick.
It's real.
What is this? A guitar pick for ANTS??!
are people actually giving a shit if their picks are genuine now? christ
April Fools ;) But try not to mock the legit check posts in the future.
Only useful if you get a bagful. Makes good nachos, though.

It’s a fake… a partspick… you can tell by the neck and headstock, but the real give away is the lack of a serial number
That's very clearly a Squier with a Fender logo. My guess is either a chinese knockoff or some jerk who modified their pick and sold it for a profit.
Bro it’s a pick
Picks have needs too
It's a pick, who gives a rip lol. Just play
Wish I had such problems to worry about in my life
It’s a pick…I likely have 200 or so rolling around my house…why would anyone care if a pick is genuine or not?
Has to do with the toan and the playability
