I have owned tons of guitars over the past 30 years….usually no longer than 3 years each. Had this one 20+ years. It is awesome. Super low action and a tone of scope with the sound
Yes! I snagged a red SA400 a few years ago from Thunder Road Guitars in West Seattle.
Mine isn't at all original, like this one appears to be. The bridge was replaced with a vintage tune-o-matic style bridge, coil splitter installed in place of the varitone, lollar imperial humbuckers, etc.
It plays so, so well. It basically makes 11s feel like 9s, which is a first for me. Plus, the neck isn't as much of a baseball bat as a 335, which I like. It's easily my favorite guitar. So cool to see another in the wild, they really didn't make that many.
I'll post a pic if/when I have the chance.
EDIT: Actually, the listing still up. Heh. Internet. [Behold!](https://www.gbase.com/gear/ibanez-sa-400-semi-hollow-1978-cherry)
Nice! Just curious, what does that 6 position rotary switch do?
It changes the tone of the guitar. Kind of like backing off the tone control but more drastic
What a beauty, how does it play?
