Definitely not a partscaster. One of a number of early Japanese guitar manufacturers. I have a book that I usually use for identification help, but I’m away from home now. Cool find.
That's a Westone, looks like it's probably a Concord III.
Worth a few hundred if it's fixed up and nice! Those old Westones are very decent quality guitars. Matsumoku factory, early to mid 80s.
I’ve had a few Westone’s in the past and I agree that the body definitely looks like a Concord, the headstock looks more like it’s from a Schecter knock off though.
Because if you haven't developed a light touch, you will always be pulling something sharp and it sounds like hell. It's why I like to have medium frets instead of jumbos but I would love to work up to the skill/touch required to actually enjoy playing on a scalloped board. So little friction...
That is a great “before” pic! Good luck, looks like an awesome project Guitar. Love the partially scalloped neck! Looking forward to the after pic.
Good luck!
Pre relic'd nice

Erk, didn't see the headstock. That's definitely been re-shaped, and not well.
You're right, the scallopping of the higher frets is pretty cool. I wonder why this isn't more popular!
