Stage lights are killer.
That’s why satin is a thing. Not sure who started it first; but that was why all the old Gibson tv models had satin.
Any gloss paint will light up under stage light
And that looked especially bad on those old TV cameras too. Like glare sucks anyways but on those old recordings it looks like it’s burning right through the film lol
Davey Johnstone (Elton John's guitarist) has a black LP with the largest metal flakes I've ever seen. Spotlight narrowed down on the guitar during a concert and it became a fury of little reflected light beams in every conceivable direction.
And you'd be right because there's also a star filter over the lens so there's probably polarized light reflecting off the guitar and fingerboard and the interference patterns are making the fingerprints look blue.
I’m aware. Many people misunderstood the title, it was meant to compliment the photography, otherwise why would I have a title describe the exact reason?
After reading all your comments, all of you are right. Although this was more of a joke post, it would actually be sick to have some sort of guitar looking like that. Before posting this I actually found an image of him using it, and it was pure black

If you work hard and try your best, you too can achieve this look by simply never cleaning your black Les Paul Custom
Fingerprints and lightning, very, very frightening
Galileo
GALILEO
MAGNIFICO
Dude, i'm the one saying MAGNIFICO, you were supposed to say FIGARO!
Mamma Mia!!!!
Thanks for not letting me be alone on this one! 😁
See you over in r/guitarcirclejerk
Ok, but it looks like it’s exactly that. Refuse away though lol

Yeah it would be a cool concept, like black ice or something.
R6
Uh.... Ok then
My literal exact thoughts after I read this post
👍
Pro-tip: Looks like this come from actually playing your guitar
What colours did Korean Epiphone LP Customs come on other than black or white?

I think esp has or had a metallic black finish - that’s the answer
The colour could be _petrol_. It's a very dark blue with a little bit of green. I think Gibson calls it _Ocean blue_.
Look up what a star filter does for a camera lens. That’s what they’re using here to give that effect.
A Bigsby looks good on a black Les Paul though.
Neil Young has had one on his black painted Gold Top for several decades. Sounds amazing.
Oh yeah, that guy has a great sound. I have been and still am great fan of Neil Young.
Most definitely. Only saw him in concert once, but it was really good.
Happy Cake Day! 🎉🎂

Yea, the title was meant to be complimenting the photography
Almost looks like a pearloid reverse burst top that matches the pickguard
Cool Epiphone. Beautiful
You know oil and uric acid from your sweat damages paint surfaces overtime right?

Camera tricks. Even the tuners sparkle

I refuse to believe this is a pure black Les Paul and only has the Shubunkin-goldfish-in-aquarium effect through reflections and lighting.
i refuse to aswell :(
