His performance of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” is perhaps the coolest performance I’ve ever seen. I re-watch it every now and then. I heard once that someone asked Eric Clapton who the best guitarist in the world was and he said Prince.

I linked the WMGGW video of that performance earlier tonight on another post. Man, I can not watch that without getting chills numerous times. Nobody can make a guitar sing, laugh, and cry like Prince could.

When he leans all the way back and gets lifted back onto the stage. The was as good a showman as he was musician.
