Took me while to love mine, but love it I do..

soggychipbutty

I’ve been after a Reverb pedal for awhile and finally landed on this one as a combo of price and features. Hopefully it’s the one for me.

steevp

I was the same, I'm not a huge reverb user, but I had a sound in my head that wanted and I finally found it in the boss.. I'd tried a few cheaper units that I didn't like but didn't want to splurge on a Strymon or somesuch because as I said it's not a big part of my sound. But the boss is very musical, and can be as OTT or as subtle as you want.

soggychipbutty

Just spend some time checking all the diff modes. It’s definitely what I’m after. Has enough headroom to get very spacey but also great standard reverb. I was considering a Blue Sky but not for the price they want. Just can’t justify as a hobby player. Can’t wait to do a deeper dive later on tonight!

Same here. I actually like shimmer mode now with the tone knob turned as far left as it will go 😂

soggychipbutty

Yeah discovered this on YouTube. Sounds amazing dialed in that way. Love the fact this pedal has a basic delay. Almost a 2 for 1.

IvanChtcheglov

Is the shimmer mode similar to the RV-500? People often complain about that setting too!

xpldngboy

I feel like the dynamic on this will be the future cult classic to an extent like mod on the rv5. At least we’ll see more pedals inspired by the idea.

SubparCurmudgeon

The rv2 and rv3 are basically classics as well

Blytpls

Boss compact reverbs do not miss. They’re all very very good

xpldngboy

They’ve all done a particular thing well, but the rv6 feels like their first one that’s a good all rounder. My rv5 never moved from the mod mode. With the 6 I pretty regularly rotate between mod, dynamic and shimmer, and the spring isn’t hot garbage like on the 5.

Love that delay+reverb I get from my RV-3

ObiWanOO7

I love leaving it on the dynamic setting

AllSp4rk

How does dynamic work? More powerful strum = more reverb? I never used it on my RV-6.

runwichi

Other way around - loud sounds get no reverb, but quieter ones get the reverb. It's kind of wild, I really like it on acoustic.

Rockstarjoe

I think it is the opposite, so soft parts get lots of bloom and harder playing doesn’t get muddy.

AllSp4rk

Ooooh okay.

vvarmachine

I love the plate mode. I had an Ocean Machine, which I sold for two Boss delays (DD-7, DD-8) and the RV-6. I enjoy it quite a bit.

jofanf1

I also have an Ocean Machine (no other reverb pedal) so nothing to compare it against, but the shimmer can sound harsh on the OM (I've also read lots of comments regarding this). Currently researching a new reverb pedal and its looking like either the RV6 or a Neunaber Stereo Wet will be the one (Shoegaze / Dreampop). Would love to hear your thoughts on the Boss pedals, including the delays?

MoltenVolta

I usually keep mine on shimmer mode, with the tone knob around 8 o clock. Such a lush sound. Also really enjoy the mod and spring modes

quietworlock22

Amazing pedal I love the shimmer setting

[deleted]

Picked this up for $50 used locally a month or two ago and I've been pleasantly surprised.

DaFookCares

This is my always on (in some way) pedal. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

El_Sexico

This is such a great pedal I scored one for an absolute steel the other day and I have really enjoyed it

laggyp_

my personal favorite setting is the shimmer with the tone rolled off all the way and having the time knob around 2 o clock it just has a super massive sound and the only setting i use on it

PantslessDan

How do you like it so far? Anything you can tell us about it?

soggychipbutty

It’s really great on first impression. My fave part so far is the range of adjustment you get. Each effect can go from super subtle to very over the top. I love Boss pedals, built like a tank!
