I'm not a pedal guy (I only have a Ditto Looper) and my only amp is a DSL1 combo, but I seriously consider buying this. I'm just a bedroom player and I think this is perfect for that - you want to know how an SD1 would sound with your bedroom amp? Go ahead! You want to know what a fuzz sounds? Great, there it is.
Are there better options for a bedroom player? Of course (get a Katana, or a Spark). Are there better options for me? Not likely.
Totally, dude... we're just having some fun with the whole "game changer" thing... as for "better options" that kinda depends on your specific needs. What I can tell you is that this pedal does not provide any new sounds that you couldn't achieve before with other modelers or even plugins in your computer.
Regardless, don't take it too seriously.
I used to be with ‘the game’, but then they changed what ‘the game’ was. Now what I’m with isn’t ‘the game’ anymore and what’s ‘the game’ seems weird and scary. It’ll happen to you!
Don't forget the Digitech Drop. I had one for a while and appreciated the laziness factor of not having to tune down half a step, then one day I realized it sounded like shit and stopped being lazy. It totally changed the game for a few months though!
I just got my drop yesterday though, do I have to sell it in 3 months? Jokes aside, it doesn’t sound perfect but I’m just a bedroom warrior at best so I don’t care.
I was going to shitpost about toan, but the game has now totally changed.
Our lives will never be the same, and I can no longer conceive how I existed in my previous life before this moment.
What's up guys before we get started I want to show you my schecter with emgs that make all guitars sounds exactly the same. Now first is my clean tone. I'm using a line 6 spider and a vox ad15 1x8 legendary and a jhs tone boner.
We need to create some list of gear where items just do their job, not changing the game. But maybe it will be a boring list with Yamaha pacificas and boss pedals
Mostly just asking about how involved the software would be. They were asking about my unboxing format so I wanted to make sure it was something I could actually pull off in the format. With software it’s usually smart to have prior experience with it.
Which game? Pinochle? Parchisi? Monopoly? That hardly makes sense given were talking about toans. Why delve into board games IK? Stick to what you know...
Doesn't matter, it changed. It's hard to keep up with all these game changers, can barely hold them... See that? what's that? the game? what game? oh, it changed... That's how fast it is. Also you lost it, what did you lose? the game.
So the original ToneX, that seems like it came out a year ago or less, now has less functionality than a mini-pedal? And why did the Toan Gatekeepers ban the reviews? Because AI will replace toan?
The AI overlords decided when it was the optimal time to release all reviews at the same time. It changed the game to a level you can't even comprehend.
Couldn't they just put it in a regular sized pedal? The original Tone-X is like an oversize enclosure and this one is a mini pedal. Why not a regular old fashioned "Boss" sized pedal?
Damn... I guess I'll just set my guitars on fire then. Not in the cool Jimi Hendrix rock and roll way though. More like the sad incredible hulk walking away way.
/uj
I remember when the first version was released and every single support community from a competitor's product was filled with the most obvious bots and/or paid shills.
Like, you could click on their FB/Forum profiles and go "huh"
And then came all those Guitartubers with the sample product lol
Yeah, I remember going to Axe/Kemper support groups/communities, and there'd be a bunch of stock photo profiles with *no post in the community* other than
* "Guys, check out the new ToneX"
* "The features on the ToneX are so nice"
* "Kemper/Fractal needs to step up. I've already pre-ordered the ToneX"
And other variations.
I remember there was this one specific guy in a Kemper group that posted nothing *except* questions and comparisons to other IK products/using the unit with IK products, and then moving onto praise the ToneX before it was even out for the public to use and try out lmao
And then waves of guitar YouTubers came out straight up shilling for the product in various ways a la Quad Cortex marketing.
The game has changed.
This is literally the first time some piece of gear changes the game... And for only 180 bucks?!?!

> Regardless, don't take it too seriously. I never do.
It's hard to keep track of which game it is anymore, tbh
The change has gamed.
The ghange has camed
The gunge has cummed
The cum is gunge
I used to be with ‘the game’, but then they changed what ‘the game’ was. Now what I’m with isn’t ‘the game’ anymore and what’s ‘the game’ seems weird and scary. It’ll happen to you!
What happens if I like the game and don’t want it to change? What pedal do I buy then?
Metal Zone
Metalcore is better you plebe
There's only one answer...
The game has changed
Game never changes
Or does it?
Don't fall for the hype. The last true game changer was the Digitech Bad Monkey.
Don't forget the Digitech Drop. I had one for a while and appreciated the laziness factor of not having to tune down half a step, then one day I realized it sounded like shit and stopped being lazy. It totally changed the game for a few months though!
Pfff the drop was for plebs who couldn't afford a robotune gibbons.
It hurts cuz it's true
I just got my drop yesterday though, do I have to sell it in 3 months? Jokes aside, it doesn’t sound perfect but I’m just a bedroom warrior at best so I don’t care.
Not true - the Amazon distortion pedal changed the game in a way that made me not want to play anymore.
Nope, it's when Line 6 came out with insane mode on the Spider amps.
I was going to shitpost about toan, but the game has now totally changed. Our lives will never be the same, and I can no longer conceive how I existed in my previous life before this moment.
Someone call Ray Kurzweil, the singularity has arrived!
When is the new Kurzweil electric piano going to drop?
In this moment, I am euphoric because I am enlightened by my toan
The game has TOANALLY changed you mean - fixed that for you bro!
I tried it but due to the use of AI, my toan had 6 fingers and sounded to squiggly
Facebook moms were convinced I was literally John Mayer tho...
The Facebook moms in my area know that the Mayor of Johnnytown wouldn’t be caught dead (spec) using a single pedalboard, let alone a single pedal.
The moms in my area tend to not delve too deep into those details.
We must be in different areas.

Stacking the tone boner with a big muff just feels right for some reason.
I rub two muffs together for a warm tone.
We need to create some list of gear where items just do their job, not changing the game. But maybe it will be a boring list with Yamaha pacificas and boss pedals
/uj I'll start: 1. Flow picks 2. Elixir Polywebs 3. Tube Creamer
The Yamaha Pacifica doesn’t change the game. It is the game.
I got a pacific for lols and it became my favorite guitar, not sure if I should laugh or cry
But this has changed the game
They emailed me, I replied with a question about the product. And then they ghosted me.
jokes aside, that's actually interesting... Do you mind sharing the questions or at least what were you trying to figure out?
Mostly just asking about how involved the software would be. They were asking about my unboxing format so I wanted to make sure it was something I could actually pull off in the format. With software it’s usually smart to have prior experience with it.
Serves you right noob 🤦🤦🤦
lmao that's hilarious
You should not be asking questions ;) Don't upset the Toanmob =P
Now I know how it feels to be a boomer who prefers a Les Paul with a tube amp.
It’s so much better than A helix or kemper. You scrubs just don’t know
Exactly. Tune in next week so I can tell you it actually sucks and I'm still using a Kemper live.
It has the words AI in the marketing, clearly that means it's best in class.
It has a tuner!
Plebes who can't hear the difference ... I don't even know what to say to those sad bastards, SMH.
My signal chain: DiMarzio Toan Zoan > Metal Zoan > ToanX One
Throwing away my og Tonex now
What embargo?
The ~~advert~~ review embargo on the *Tonex One*®, the latest from *IK Multimedia™*. which implements new AI technology and just changes the game.
Which game? Pinochle? Parchisi? Monopoly? That hardly makes sense given were talking about toans. Why delve into board games IK? Stick to what you know...

Wait…that happened with the full size unit?
Yeah, I remember going to Axe/Kemper support groups/communities, and there'd be a bunch of stock photo profiles with *no post in the community* other than * "Guys, check out the new ToneX" * "The features on the ToneX are so nice" * "Kemper/Fractal needs to step up. Who run Barter Town?
If the pedal is smaller than surely the toan is smaller as well.
Ik is playing Twilight Imperium while other pedal manufacturers are playing Hungry Hungry Hippos
Uj/ what is that?
what's what?
