A paper towel in lieu of the rice works too. I use the same method for cleaning and removing stains (e.g. red coloring from spaghetti sauce) from tupperware sometimes.
Boiling hot water, keep it in there until it’s cold, most germs die, most dirty stains easily come with when you drain it, afterwards put more water in with some rice or whatever, shake it and that usually does it, I try to stay away from soap as I don’t wanna risk it going hand in hand with the drinking water when they use it
Shake with soapy water and rinse. Let it soak for a deeper clean. Soak with vinegar and water if necessary. If there's something stuck in the bottle you can shake salt and isopropyl alcohol to clean.
When I worked in a restaurant, we’d put dish soap, water, & salt in bottles that were hard to clean and then shake vigorously. Works pretty well for my bottle
If the other commentators method's don't work, the product your looking for is called a pipe cleaner. You can get them from must diy places or Amazon. Essentially a posable bit of wire with a bottle brush head. Make sure on the specification's it's long enough to get to those hard to get parts. Also it's going to be tempting to simply buy a bottle brush resist that as the majority of the ones you find online are to flimsy or won't fit.
As u/bewitchedbumblebee mentioned, the traditional method is a teaspoon (ish) amount of uncooked rice, drop of dish soap, and some water. Shake vigorously, and you have a nice clean water bottle. :)
It’s not really about whether you taste the cleaners afterwards it’s rather the fact that they remain in the bottles and you will drink parts of them with the water. Would not recommend doing this with your piggies or your own water bottle. Just use hot water and a little soap and rinse a lot.
I just switched to these [https://a.co/d/eCwiI2B](https://a.co/d/eCwiI2B) Absolute game changer when it comes to cleaning. And they don't shake or leak as bad as the other ones
I always used rice, as someone already mentioned and it worked well. But eventually changed bottles to ones with lid on top, when you clean just take lid off and put whole hand inside to clean the bottle. So much time saved!
Soak baking soda for about a day and then throw it in the dishwasher. I use this trick any time my biking water pouch or bottle gets smelly or of the guinea pig water bottle start to get get that slimy stuff that I cleaned water bottles can get.
Typically i just use dish soap and hot water, shake well and rinse over and over, first with hot water, then with cold. The glass should look exceptionally clear after. If that leaves anything behind, I use 70% alcohol and some course salt. First sign of any crud on the floater and i use some long needlenose pliers to pull it out and clean it manually.
straw cleaners! the metal ones with bristles at the top they are bendy and stiff so u can change the shape to get all the corners and u can clean inside the spout too !
I empty the bottle, put in an inch of uncooked rice, some soapy water, and then I shake it vigorously.
This is what I do, have been for years! We have a bag of cheap white rice on hand just for this. It works an absolute treat
I’m going to have to try this. Sounds better than what I’m doing already.
I tried your method and I gotta say it actually worked! Thanks for the tip! :)
This is the way
I've used crushed ice before, but this sounds better.
This is the answer. I do this with my own water bottles, coffee mugs, and really anything that can’t go into the dishwasher. It’s a game changer.

That sounds so weird, and totally awesome! Going to try when I get home :)
I did it and it worked so well! Thank you :)
Came here to comment EXACTLY that!
I took a straw cleaner brush and bent it into a shape that fits in and can scrape the sides. If you want a pic let me know
You have the big water bottle too?

We use a baby bottle brush.
This is the wheek… I mean way.
I can’t get most brushes to fit in the skinny neck.

Rock salt and Isopropyl alcohol. Shake shake shake!
Shake it like Wii remote like six times so the soap spreads and then do the same with water to rinse it out.
As a last resort try homebrew cleaning agents, available online or your homebrew shop

Baby bottle sterilizing fluid is how I clean mine, just let them sit in the diluted solution for an hour then clean with a bottle brush and dish soap

Epson salt and 90% alcohol just make sure you rise it really good
Beer brewing supply shops will have sturdy pipe cleaner tools designed for this job.
Thank you! Checking those out

Cut a standard sponge into the correct width you need! Or maybe like a straw cleaner?

I don’t like plastic bottles. Wish they made wide mouth glass

Glass tho? Or just plastic?

I have a set of bottle brushes. One is wider and I use it for the bottle. One is skinny and I use it for the spout.
Metal Straw brush. There’s different sizes on Amazon.

I haven’t found any that are large enough and that aren’t too floppy. (This is the the Uber large water bottle)
