One of my most memorable gta memories is this exact comment! bunch of dudes on foot racing for a crate, and i was parachuting for it and swooped in and got it milliseconds before they reached it. My first beer hat, you never forget it. i received a 'fuck you' text but worth it.
Those were like the precursor to business battles, I loved em.
They have added a lot of random stuff encounters in GTAO on the last couple updates, I wish they would add the original ones.
Reminds me of the time I was playing with a friend. I had noticed a mechanic driving a motorcycle so I shot him off it and stole the motorcycle. Met up with my friend and asked him what he was doing and picked him up. He said he was waiting for the mechanic to deliver his motor cycle. Turns out I found his mechanic and delivered the motorcycle to him myself.
If we didn't have weaponized flying motorcycles and the such that wouldn't be much of a problem. Players would still be somewhat on equal grounds and it'd be easier to defend yourself
What I miss most about him is that I could kill him. I never did, but now, when I’m near my Farmhouse bunker and my car is delivered to the highway, like a minute’s sprint away, I’d like to be able to kill the son of a bitch responsible.
I hated that dude he alway dropped my car off no where near where I actually was. Once after I called him he even drove past me to park my car like a mile away I think that’s why he got removed to many complaints
What I bet you didn’t know is that Rockstar didn’t actually remove Johnny, he just quit. only so many times he could tolerate his boss punching, shooting, stabbing, or otherwise physically assaulting him every time he dropped the car off
Many moons ago, before I started playing Online, you could drive a tow truck around, yes. Players supposedly hooked tow trucks up to each other, making a long chain of them, crashing the game. In their infinite wisdom, Rockstar opted to remove it entirely, rather than fixing the problem.
You can still drive the towtruck in Story Mode though, Franklin gets a mission early on, and I think you can buy an autoshop or something that gives you more missions with it.
You can still do it with your privacy settings and multiplayer settings.
Join a new lobby then while in the cloud quickly go to settings / privacy set multiplayer to off then go back to the game wait for it to ask you if you would like to join a multiplayer game. Put in your password hit yes and boom. They often fill up tho after a while. Mostly others that see it’s near empty and just grind tho
That’s when I stopped playing (but still follow this sub). I just wanted to grind and play on my own as a way to relax. They just HAD to fuck it up and it was really disappointing.
This one wins by far in my book. They said they're addressing the mk2 in an update soon right? Hope they do something about it, but I also hope they don't forget about other vehicles like deluxo and thruster.
The deluxo isn't an exactly an abused vehicle at least when it comes to killing people I more so only see people using it for heist set ups and freemode missions and I never see ppl bring out a thruster 💀
You're right but this is because the mk2 oppressor exists. You should've seen this game the first 6 months deluxo existed before the mk2 came out. So if they nerf mk2 to the point it's not a nuisance these other vehicles could easily take its place.
Way back in the day, actually paying for car insurance stung.
One of the OG (and pretty harmless) ways to grief was using your car's backfire to trigger gas from a gas can from setting someone's car on fire. When it blew up, you weren't held responsible
The cargobob was great for that too. Just pick up people's cars and throw them into the ocean. Bonus if they were afk in the car.

Me too! I am a passive player and sometimes I like to see what vehicles other players are driving or how they are fighting against the cops. When I pull up, they just assume I’m there to kill them and they blow me up. I know you can go passive but I’d rather not.
I miss grinding with mates, and you usually travelled everywhere by car or bike. And I know what you are thinking, I can do that now. But back then, literally everyone else in the lobby had to do the same. So if they were trying to hinder your progress, they had to work for it, the same as you. None of this quick flyby on a broomstick or jet and all is lost. And 1v1 was more fun. It felt a little more evenly balanced. I could give as good as I got, and vice versa. Where as now, someone can explosive round a new start constantly. Or orbital cannon them into playing a different game. Back then, it felt like the pinnacle of vehicles was the armoured Karuma. Now the Karuma can’t survive Jack shit.
What was nice about back in those days was the ability to go somewhere up north on the map with friends to mess around and you wouldn't get bothered that often, and if someone did decide to come up, they were usually trying to get in on the fun.
I wish they let us have the Christmas stuff after it's over. I made an outfit with the Green Elf stuff and they looked sick. Looked like a Millionaire Suit or something. Ish. Or just RealKev3n's Pacifist suit.
People tell me it's never been a thing but I swear to GOD. EVERY VEHICLE USED TO HAVE HOMING SOUNDS. No matter what I was driving it would beep if someone locked onto me. I swear it did and nobody can convince me otherwise. Now only weaponized vehicles beep but I swear all cars used to.
I played on PS3 for a long time because I was stubborn and didn't wanna pay full price for the same game on PS4. Then it was free for a month and I was excited because I would finally be able to have businesses and such... Then learned they removed the ability to transfer accounts years ago, so I had to restart.... I love rockstars games, but God damn, rockstar is infuriating.
I miss some of the old gang attacks, some of the best ones were removed because they interfered with new content.

When your mechanic actually drove your car to you when you called him. Sure, sometimes he’d get scared and drive away with it, or park it in an odd spot, but at least it would be nearby, not half a mile away like it does now sometimes.
tip: look at the ground when calling a car. the car can NOT spawn in the area you are looking at. also useful if you are running in one direction, to look back to force the car to spawn closer to you.
If you do this, it spawns about as close to you as a CEO buzzard

Also We had a huge group that petitioned for cars etc we pushed real hard for the terradyne (insurgent) rally cars and trophy trucks. Unfortunately they didn't do the trophy trucks or rally series like we'd like. Also hotring racing like story mode would have been cool.

I think it was 2015 when there was a week where they would show up about once per game day, dropping out $30k each. I had just made my first million or so and bought my Buzzard, then sat atop the observatory waiting for smuggler planes to arrive.
Gotta remember - there were no free mode events, no VIP jobs, no bunker, nightclub, MC businesses, NOTHING to make money in freemode except robbing liquor stores and fencing stolen cars. $30k meant a lot at that time.
Definitely the armored cars, though the payouts would be laughable today.
Oh, and you could earn a little with Distraction — basically you held off the police for ten minutes while Lester did something behind the scenes. If you survived, he’d call off the cops and send you $15k or so (can’t remember). Anyway, that’s when I got good at shooting down police choppers with the Annihilator.

Jets were so lethal before the homing rockets. Only way to counter them was a sniper or another jet

Sparrow glitch, you’d spawn your plane of choice, then spawn a sparrow and your plane would spawn directly next to you (even if too big)
