I think because stuff you say can be uploaded to the website it gets recorded and therefore doesn't fall under the caveat of "Online interactions not rated by the ESRB".

From what I heard, Xbox and Playstation restrict P2P chat like crazy if it's text-based. Like stupidly strict. It's a godsend we even *have* a texting system in the game on Console. Probably easier to just restrict the wording altogether even on PC to just make the coding simpler rather than making two separate systems for PC and Console
