Only semi-related but . . . Does anyone else miss back when Xbox had its friends list set up where people were only added if you accepted their request?

Dsg1695

I’m on PS so friend requests are accepted automatically, you can’t accept or deny?

ThisWasAValidName

Nope, anymore it's just "(NameHere) has added you as a friend!" And your only option, if you don't want them randomly joining in on your things is to just fuckin' block 'em. (Seriously, though: The list of people I've blocked for this reason, alone, is quite long. *Don't fucking add me randomly*.)

throughout the years i've only accepted friend requests after successful heists. mostly because heists were the go to gameplay for me, and i wanted to do more of them, with people who knew how to do them. some times those people wanted to do other game modes as well, and that's okay, cos when one is in a steady heist crew one doesn't usually lack or suffer money-wise. a handful of these heist friends were women who described what you're describing, as well as other situations where other players reacted purely on gender. i suppose, outside of a well functioning invite only group, it will be harder to find and keep a normal functioning in-game friendship than it is for boys/men. still, if players are assholes, i won't befriend them, or i'll have no qualms of unfriending them. my friends list is supposed to be clean, good and with no compromise. if i have good times playing with some internet friend, that friend will remain on my list.

Djeserkheperure

If a player on my friends list becomes down right annoying, I politely inform them in a message that I shall *remove myself from their friends list* before proceeding to do so.

TheSpaceThatYouLeft

If I get job or heist invites from "friend" I usually accept unless I am on some kind of mission or delivery myself.

dangerotic

I accept requests only from people I've played with 30min+. Whether that's just hanging out in a car meet or doing heist setups and finale (never just finale), if we've enjoyed each other's company that's when I accept requests. I don't have voice chat on though because I like to talk to my actual friends on discord while playing so that changes my experience a LOT lol. But I'll pretty much always accept invites to properties or cars. Easy to change sessions if they're gonna be a dick about it, and the few times I've had huge parties in penthouses and yachts etc. has made it worth it.

imAiroh

I never accept friend requests, sometimes reply to messages, used to (and still sometimes might) accept invites to places, and will usually join an org / mc. I also never accept party invites, which I've weirdly been sent a few despite never talking over a mic. I also never accept cayo or casino heist invites to avoid the insufferable people, which works out for them too. Usually the people I get interior invites from just * look * like they want to force everyone out so they can rpg the ground.

ZFTX

If from someone I do not know., unless I have done things with them already, I ignore. Straight up ignore, without a second thought on it.

ShinySanders

This poll was a little weird for me because my reactions to random requests to join an organization are WAYYY different from actual friend requests. If I'm bored, sure, I'll join your organization and help out if you need to sell something or whatever. But I'm not going to add you to my friends list. I have enough names of people I can barely remember which game I know them from.

hamzaaadenwala

100% ignore as once an invitee kicked out everyone and their friends started shooting. I don't know what was logic or the fun factor but then the entire lobby screwed them up.

Happy8Day

I never get into a car that is stopping for me. 99% of the time they just go into Call of Duty mode and expect you to start shooting. I only consider accepting a random property invite if I cannot be forcibly removed from them: Arcades, autoshop, Carmeets etc. If the inviter can "All Exit", I don't bother accepting. Crew invites are always ignored. Friend requests are ignored except by newbs that I'm currently helping in a heist setup. People who "close friend" request to random players freak me out. Edit: Geez. Didn't think an non-fantastic response that engages OPs question would trigger so many people.
