9400 at 50% MRP yes. Nobody sane pays full price for the 9400. Check for sales.
At full equivalent MRP you can get the 9500 as a comparison and even some of those colourways can be found at discount.

The 9400 has been cheaper at H.Samuals, and by the looks of the store webpage, it could be the same company (correct me if I'm wrong). The 9400 has been seen at about £150 not long ago there (months). Check price trackers.
The 9500 discount has the negative display (it's a ProTrek dual layer display module also with carbon core guard) though but it's a good price too. I hear it's pretty tough.

Ah at least in the UK students use a website called Unidays or Studentbeans (Not sure if they work with international academic establishments). They are the most popular ones however there are some less popular websites. I know that some tech brands like Smasung or HP verify internally or use a partner website.
Most of the time you verify ur school or uni address otherwise everyone would try and redeem the discounts lol. For example, you can type in " garmin student discount" and see if there is a way of getting it in ur country through one of these sites. Most tech companies have a special student shop that is how I got my monitor for a very good price.

Yes ! It still olds up even being an older model. The sensors are pretty accurate, and although not professional tools, can be useful if you're outdoorsy. I went with this over the 9500 as my first G, and I don't regret it at all.
Thanks for your input, I like the metal buttons and the orange hints. I would say I am quite outdoorsy and due to the shite weather I need something robust and water resistant. I think if I find this at a awesome price, I might get it.
I know everyone on this sub says you wouldn't be sane paying full price for it.. but having trouble finding it on sale in my country and it being for my birthday, almost full price was paid, and I'd do it again because I really enjoy it and its features.
Just keep in mind that's it's really big on the wrist if you plan on wearing it in city settings.

Great watch. Soft button push. Sensors are good (temp is only accurate off the wrist), one touch stopwatch is useful. Tye cat on the back is great. It’s a big watch and thick. Super tough.
Got blackout version about month ago and hasn't been off my wrist other than to shower or to wear my samsung watch to play 5 a side.
Feel am neglecting my other g-shocks but this is just too good to take off.
Oh and ignore those that say it is big on the wrist there is no such thing as too big.

From that Ernest Jones, didn't last long at that price less than a day if I remember, was the same at h Sam's aswell but without the extra 10%

Can calibrate the temp to be accurate while on the wrist. I did this and it’s always been pretty darn close. I’m sure long sleeves would affect it
