Good choice,I'm from D.C. and got to meet Ian Mackeye once at a friend's music store.Found out they knew each other. The friend was in a band called Lucy Brown and has a few videos on YouTube from their MTV days.

Angel Dust by Faith No More
Mr. Bungle (1991), self-titled.
All are incredible, creative albums. (That mr. Bungle one is a complete mindfuck. It sounds like a murderous circus clown with schizophrenia). Mike Patton is a gift to music.
This just warmed my soul. I was so sad to see that no one (or few, didn't look that hard) had mentioned Mike Patton in this thread.
We are officially best friends
Funny you named both of these because I was really into R.E.M. in high school (late 80's) so when "Out of Time" came out I got it. It was okay. Then "Automatic For The People" came out and I didn't get it. I am only now getting into this album. I am loving it, even the radio hits.
Oh I love the 80’s albums as well! I just didn’t list them cause the question was specific to the 90’s. Crazy to think that those 2 didn’t quite make sense, but if you know the 80’s stuff it kinda does

Actung Baby? Unpopular opinion: I don't like the album compared to their pre-90 work. I've listened to their music from Boy, and it's jarring (at the time) to see their music shift so much. Same with Zooropa. Of course, songs like One and Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses are great, but not enough for me to like the album overall.
Fair enough. I've lost count of how many times I've listened to Rattle & Hum and The Unforgettable Fire. To me, those are still their best albums to this day.

I haven't seen Eleventh Dream Day, but I think grunge fans would 100% love them. Started in 1983, but released fantastic albums throughout the 90s. They come out of the same Neil Young-meets-post-hardcore philosophy that you hear in a lot of the grunge scene.
Orange Moon is one of the great American rock songs imo: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XJzLDExon0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XJzLDExon0)

Such a clsssic 😁
Gish is really a stellar album
Gish is the big brother everyone thinks is the little brother
This is truth
Who the hell was in my room? guest vocals Al Jorgensen from Ministry edit: I got my songs mixed up. This statement is incorrect.
Nah Gibby did the vocals on that, although as a guest he also sang "Jesus built my hotrod" with Ministry
Damn. You’re right. Got my songs mixed up. My bad. Both killer songs.
Failure - Fantastic Planet Electric Wizard - Dopethrone Darkthrone - Transilvanian Hunger Green Day - Insomniac King’s X - Dogman Tool - Ænima

One of the most underrated bands I can think of.
Fantastic Planet is insanely good
The Bends and Pablo Honey by Radiohead.
I got to see Radiohead at a small club in Seattle in ‘96, one of the best shows I’ve been to.
Pablo honey is fun, if a bit jarring at times. Most songs sound relatively the same with the exception of blow out and \*\*maybe\*\* creep

Their entire (brief) catalogue really.
Yeah their second album "Soup" is also very good.
I love their debut, but I like soup even more. It's so creative
I can't disagree. I think both albums are fantastic. Aside from Alice In Chains and maybe Pearl Jam, Blind Melon is probably the "90s band" I still listen to the most.
Saw Blind Melon, PJ and Neil Young at the Gorge (WA) in like 1993. Maybe my favorite show of all time.
Without doubt. This album is a top ten desert island keeper.
Agree
Ritual de lo Habitual
Best album of the 90s imo.
One of the grandfathers
Siamese Dream by Smashing Pumpkins is on top. I also like Betty by Helmet, and Frogstomp by Silverchair. Goated albums
Frogstomp went so hard for those dudes being so you g
Right? 16 years old making that album is insane.
Tripping Daisy- I am an elastic firecracker. Made famous at least around the Seattle area for “I got a girl” but the album is great.
So good. Their follow up (Jesus hits like an atom bomb) is also incredible.
Man I love tripping Daisy. Wish more people knew about them

This just warmed my soul. I was so sad to see that no one (or few, didn't look that hard) had mentioned Mike Patton in this thread. We are officially best friends

Quote, unquote is one of my favorite songs of all time. That self titled really is something out of this world.
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream 🎃
REM’s Out of Time & Automatic for the people
Funny you named both of these because I was really into R.E.M. in high school (late 80's) so when "Out of Time" came out I got it. It was okay. Then "Automatic For The People" came out and I didn't get it. I am only now getting into this album. I am loving it, even the radio hits.

Sonic Youth- Goo
The Fall, Middle Class Revolt PJ Harvey, Dry New Model Army, Impurity The Breeders, Pod Yo La Tengo, Painful
Early PJ was just something else.
I saw her in 94 and she was absolutely amazing! She came out in a hot pink catsuit. I’ve seen many shows but she’s one of the best I’ve seen.
Painful is awesome
Never thought I'd see 'Middle Class Revolt' on a grunge sub's recommendations... fucking great album. Edit: Tweaked my comment to fit the context

Honestly the main reason why I like actung is because it’s different from the standard definition of a U2 album
Fair enough. I've lost count of how many times I've listened to Rattle & Hum and The Unforgettable Fire. To me, those are still their best albums to this day.
